Eddie Guererro Passes Away
Autopsy results reveal he died of heart failure. Worn out blood vessels and an enlarged heart were symptoms.

Eddie Guererro Passes Away
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) first of all people, please. steroids don't kill. fourth of all, the wrestlers who are dieing at an early age all have the same thing in common. they are all obese, have a history with drugs and alcohol, and/or got involved in some sort of foul play. Yep, that Crash Holly was sure a fatass. If you don't think steroids plays a big part in these heart attacks, you're naive as hell.

Eddie Guererro Passes Away
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) I don't know about that. There's always gigantic new wrestlers that nobody gives two s***s about. Guys like that come and go, and they can't depend on their size to survive. I think a lot of it depends on their character and their ability to be liked or hated. I'm sure being big doesn't hurt, but I don't think it's necessary at all. One of the biggest complaints about the WWE the last few years is that they only bring in big guys. Some of the best wrestlers in the country are in TNA instead of WWE because they're not "big" enough for Vince, Jim Ross, etc. However, we could go on for hours arguing about what's gone wrong with wrestling over the last couple of years. It's a damn shame to see so many wrestlers die at a young age.

Eddie Guererro Passes Away
Trust me, up until like 5 years ago, I was in denial that all my favorite wrestlers were on the juice. Then, I started to get more interested in the behind the scenes aspect of it (almost interned with WWE), and that opened up a whole new world of the business. I would be simply stunned if guys like Mysterio weren't on the juice. In a business where the biggest and strongest guys get the biggest push, you need to do whatever you can to get ahead of your competition.

Yankees ask about Rowand
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) And if the deal is done, it probably still won't include Corey. When Bruce Levine is right on a rumored transaction this season, it will be the first time.

Yankees ask about Rowand
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) Damn, look who was right: I don't see any sign of Corey Patterson in that deal. Ship Rowand off to the Marlins for Delgado. This rumor has pretty much been gone back to being pure speculation.

FWIW, I meant to say Edge before, and not Christian.

Eddie Guererro Passes Away
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) absolutely. Its like saying every baseball player is on roids because some were caught with roids. You want to change my mind, give me proof instead of accusations. HUGE, HUGE difference between baseball and wrestling. Baseball players are athletes, and wrestlers are entertainers. Even the guys who were pure muscle when they started in WWE, like Kurt Angle, are on the juice now. As for proof? I can't give you their blood test, but people talk outside of the ring. Name me one wrestler in the WWE right now that you don't think is on roids?

EVERY major wrestler is on steroids. Even the tiny guys, like Christian, are on the juice.

Official College Basketball Thread
QUOTE(thedoctor @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) lol. well played. For the record, I'm not a Kansas fan at all. I'm more in the Weber can't recruit to save his life bandwagon.

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 04:53 PM) hey, when bill self is your coach, no win is guaranteed. Unless it's a recruiting battle against Bruce Weber.

Dammit, will it ever stop?
Maybe the Bears would have less injuries if they weren't busy knocking each other out! News reports tonight say that Kreutz punched Fred Miller in the jaw, and that's how he injured himself.

Sox have interest in Piazza
QUOTE(beck72 @ Nov 14, 2005 -> 03:32 AM) If the sox were looking at a right handed hitting DH [which I don't think will happen--maybe if he's a switch hitter], a guy like Nomar would be better than Piazza. I'm surprised LAA haven't been mentioned with them for DH. The Angels are more interested in getting PK, and then worrying about their DH situation after that. Nomar won't be playing DH next season.

Sox have interest in Piazza
Piazza would fit in with the other guys who look clueless against a righty slider.

Eddie Guererro Passes Away
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) eddie guerrero abused drugs and alcohol and while he and everyone else in the wrestling world uses steroids, they are not the reason he died. rip eddie. If he was the first wrestler to die in the last 10 years from a heart attack, then I would agree with you. However, this has become a pattern with wresters when they reach the 35-45 year old range.

Eddie Guererro Passes Away
As it is far too common in the world of wrestling, Eddy Guerrero was found dead today of a likely heart attack. And you wonder why baseball is trying to prevent players from abusing steroids also?

Yankees ask about Rowand
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 03:52 AM) There's no way we would get Teixeira for Contreras. And even if the Rangers would make that trade, Reinsdorf isn't going to want Teixeira when his agent his Boras and he's going to want a 10 year contract for huge money soon. I never said we'd get him straight up, but it was a hypothetical situation in which KW shouldn't rule out trading Contreras. I think there's a better chance of getting Dunn in a trade, even though I know a lot of people dislike him on here.

Yankees ask about Rowand
QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 03:46 AM) Kenny won't sacrifice any of the big 5 in our rotation for Delgado or any other hitter minus Pujols and other guys who won't be traded. Kenny knows that he won the WS with pitching and won't compromise that when searching for a LH power hitter. I wouldn't say it's so cut and dry that he won't trade one of the 5 starters. I know that many disagree with me on this point, but I think there's a chance that KW will trade either Contreras, Garcia, or Garland this offseason if the offer is something he can't refuse. It's HIGHLY unlikely the Sox would be able to afford both Garland and Contreras after this upcoming season. Their value will likely never be higher, so I don't think KW should just say no chance in hell. Everyone here knows that I would be willing to trade Contreras for a marquee hitter like Dunn or Teixeira.

Yankees ask about Rowand
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 03:44 AM) You missed that the Marlins aren't trying to take on extra contracts. They have no need for Patterson which is why he wouldn't be included in a deal unless you're talking about Eric Patterson who would be a viable option to replace Alex Gonzalez. Eric Patterson = 2B And if they have no need for Patterson, then why would they need Rowand? Rowand has more years left on his contract that C. Patterson does.

Yankees ask about Rowand
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 03:42 AM) You didn't answer the question. And BTW, they are trying to shed payroll. Rowand is better than Pierre. Hill is a good pitching prospect who some think is the next Barry Zito which would work in Miami. Marte still is a decent RP, despite him being our worst reliever. Rogo also is a pretty good 1B prospect, but I just threw him in as a prospect. They might want Sean Tracey instead. But it won't take one of our 6 SP's. There are going to be a ton of teams in the Delgado sweepstakes if he's available at such a cheap price. Teams like the Dodgers, Orioles, Red Sox, etc. will definitely be interested. Hell, are we even sure he wants to play in Chicago? I know he turned down the Sox last year (even though I know things have changed). I guess all this debate is what we deserve arguing about something that Mr. Zero, Bruce Levine, said.

Yankees ask about Rowand
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 03:39 AM) Oh really? Enlighten me as who they could get that would equal that package? Keep in mind that the team has to be willing to take that contract(at least 13 mil). The only way any deal with Pierre includes Patterson is if Lowell is thrown in. The Marlins don't want to take on more contracts than they have to. Did I miss Patterson sign a new contract? Last I heard, he's still a financially cheap option. If the Marlins do trade Delgado, they're definitely going to try and get a MLB caliber starting pitcher in the deal.

Yankees ask about Rowand
If the Marlins GM ends up trading Delgado and Pierre for Rich Hill, Rowand, Marte, and Rogo......then he should win the award for worse executive ever. Hell, maybe we can throw in Vizcaino in the deal, and get Miguel Cabrera!

Yankees ask about Rowand
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 03:33 AM) Patterson wouldn't have to be included. In fact, the Marlins would prefer his contract to be kept out of any potential deal. Hill would be the guy in the deal. We fill two of their needs and give them a 1B prospect who could fill the hole in 2 years. So basically, we're giving them what they need(not luxuries) for a guy they need to get rid of because of his big contract. I don't think Contreras is needed in the deal at all. Any Pierre deal to the Cubs will almost definitely include Patterson in it. Patterson's contact you mention? I've never heard anyone mention anything about it be a problem. I guarantee you that they could get a MUCH better deal for Delgado than 3 players like the ones mentioned.
