QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) Thx Fathom, I can always count on you for a positive spin. Don't get too down yet, the Sox could still lose the next series. Good grief. Yep, I'm really sitting here hoping we lose. Pods is not a good defensive outfielder, and Manny is worse on defense. I just don't think the trade will happen due to money reasons, chemistry reasons, and personnel reasons.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) I'll pass. Everyone talks about his posing after HRs, that doesn't bother me so much. But something I noticed in this series is how f***in lazy he is on defense. He flat out gives up on anything that's not hit right at him. He jogs to the ball and wiats for it to roll around and back to him.......and no arm. No thx. And that's different from our current LF? I'd only want Manny if he's a DH on our team. That's quite interesting that he said he wanted to play for the White Sox. It likely won't happen though.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) Mench has a lot more scope to improve. Plus he only made $345,000 last season, which in the Sox payroll plans, would certainly help. But he's not my #1 trade option. Chad Tracy with splits of .308/.359/.553. That's a .911 OPS, and he's got the ability to play 1B/3B/LF/RF, even though he'd probably majorly DH for us. And if Frank goes down, Anderson's not likely to put up that great numbers as a replacement in his 1st season. Think 2005 Aaron Rowand numbers with a bad K/BB ratio. I really wish Tracy didn't go on the tear that he did at the end of the season. That might have raised his trade value through the roof. I like Mench, but I'm not sure how he'd be outside of Texas.

I guess I'm of the minority opinion that for the right price, I'd take Manny in a heartbeat on this team. I'd say he'd be that number 3 hitter/DH we were begging for all year.

As some of you might have noticed, I wasn't around from the 7th to the 9th inning. Well, I had to leave work. I got home from work at the very second that Jenks delivered that pitch to Renteria. I can't believe I got back home in time to see the final out! f*** YEAH!!! Relax and enjoy the next few days....and good luck trying to keep the permanent smile off your face.

That's the s*** legends are made of. The most clutch pitching performance I've ever seen.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) Ride Duque's hot hand or go to the setup men? Duque will likely start the 7th.

QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) guys never ever say s*** again about KW! that man brought him to us for this reason! he knew he would be huge in that kinda spot. i bet he is proud of himself. There's almost no one on this site that has a problem with KW.

Holy f***ing s***!

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) Were using, arguably, are 2 worst picthers in the biggest game of the year. GO FOR THE f***ING JUGULAR OZZIE!!!!!!!!! ^^^^^^
-
If I was Politte and Cotts, I would feel incredible insulted right now.
-
QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) Shut the f*** up with the ozzie s***. The style he manages (confidence in his guys) is like living and dying by the sword. That got us 99 wins, a division title, and 2-0 on the defending champs. STFU!!!!!!!!!! You're not going to find many people that agree with you on this. I know I'm always harsh on Ozzie, but this was the type of s*** I was so worried about all season.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) this is all about $$$ both marketing & gambling. do you actually think they would miss tomorrows revenue with this one? we wouldve had to beat em by 10 runs. Don't start that s***.
-
QUOTE(S720 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) MARTE STINKS! EL DUQUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN!!!!! DAMNIT! What happened to the guys that acutally got us this far? It sure the f*** wasn't Marte and Duque in the pen.
-
QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) This umpire is the biggest piece of s*** I've ever seen in my life. How much is Boston paying him? Let me ask you this: Why in the f*** would you bring in a pitcher with terrible control when you know the umpire has a small zone?
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) LOL> You all wanted him to go to the bullpen. Yeah...and not to our worst bullpen guy who has the greatest chance of having a meltdown.
-
Thanks Ozzie

In an elimination game...you go with your best. This should have been a 12 out game with Politte, Cotts, and Jenks.
-
QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) 2 lefties and a switch hitter due up next. Politte is just as good against lefties.
-
It wouldn't be a Garcia start without him allowing the last batter he faces to score.
-
Why not go to Politte in the 6th? Why are we messing around with pitchers who have been erratic all season?
-
You guys have watched games all season. Right or wrong, Garcia will almost definitely be out there next inning.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) Ouch. No cheapie that time Papi. :finger When I first read that, it made me think he hit a 3 run bomb.
-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) Although he's worse, I just hope they ultra-pessimists don't come out either... There shouldn't be a single person ready to jump off the ledge if the White Sox were to lose today.
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 09:24 PM) No, on any other day thats a fly ball for an out though. Even better. Who gives a s***, it was a homer. We just need to get the ball in the wind also.
