Well....at least this doesn't bring up a clutch hitter.
-
BTW, you think NIU was rooting for the Sox to not have a home game tonight?
-
With the amount of love the media gives the rookie, he might as well be called Papelboner.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:56 AM) Cotts isn't a bad choice if you can live with him facing Manny Isn't Manny worse against lefties?
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:54 AM) LOL. Then why do you want to go to the bullpen? I'm avoiding overanalzying things, and I'm just sitting back and enjoying the playoffs. However, I think Cotts should come in next inning.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) Give that man a contract. Now goddammit. ^^^^^^

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) I sort of agree qwerty but I am not sure. Maybe Politte to Ramirez and leave him in to work on Ortiz? Politte and his lack of velocity worries me.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:47 AM) you're nuts. he should finish this inning at the very least

GET BUEHRLE OUT OF THE GAME!
-
QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) Only Gooch's second homerun to left field this season. Huh? I guarantee that's wrong. I remember about 8 to LF.

IGUCHI!!!!

f*** YEAH!

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 10:50 PM) Looking at the lineup, Gooch, Dye and Crede with no hits today, so we've got them to get going as well. Can't complain about the offense at all though. I haven't been commenting in the gamethread about each individual AB, but this is the best our offense has looked overall all season. A lot of hard hit outs, and besides Crede, everyone seemed right on every pitch.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 10:49 PM) Shooting under 45% while being 6-10 is unacceptable. He's a perimeter player. No one ever thought he's being brought in to replace Curry. Something that the team lacked last season was a frontcourt reserve who could score. You put Thomas and Gordon on your bench, and you have a pretty solid scoring duo. Also, Songaila will be a real solid bench player. He's a pain in the ass when he's not on your team, but he's a great player when he's on your team.
-
QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) He is as bad of a defender and curry, worse rebounder, worse shooter, not a good passer... that says nothing for thomas. Thomas? He's a pretty solid outside shooter. He's also about as good of a defensive rebounder as Curry is.

QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) How disappointing is that news! Not really. It's a great trade for the Bulls, as they were NEVER going to play him unless he received a full bill of health. I actually think that on a gritty team, Thomas can become a big contributor. Back to baseball....

A homer and a bad defensive play by our left fielder? I didn't know we acquired Carlos Lee again.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) What will Mariotti write tomorrow? He'll talk about the Curry trade.

QUOTE(juddling @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) If the Sox were to let Konerko go after this year for whatever reason....i would love to see them make some sort of move for Morneau. I think the kid is going to be a huge stud in another year or two. Due to fantasy baseball considerations this year i followed him pretty closely and would love to see him on the south side. Twins would never trade him within the division. I thought Morneau was going to be a star this season, but he never put it all together.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 10:25 PM) Side note as I haven't see this posted yet or heard it on tv, Jake Peavy is done for the year with a broken rib I think he's done for the year cause Padres won't win enough games for him to pitch again.

Good call on the Pods/Lance Johnson comparison.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) this game is slooooow. I feel like we need to run the ball and run out the clock As long as we're winning by 6 or more runs, it can take as long as it wants. It's not every day that we can enjoy a big playoff lead.
-
Could you imagine if Wells and Buehrle pitched with this same home plate umpire tomorrow? It could have been Maddux/Livan all over again.
-
QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) Not THE reason. If he gets Cameron out there, and the Sox win that first game, you never know what happens the rest of the series.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) I was a bit surprised to see Jenks so low. I understand that he didn't pitch as well in AA as he has in the bigs ERA wise, but talent wise he's got to be at the top of the pitchers. That also shows the depth of the league that a guy who is looking like a solid closer very soon is only the 13th bets prospect in the league. The top 20 top to bottom is absolutely loaded. Young at 4 shows me how much BA and company are jumping on his bandwagon this year. I have a very good "source" at BA, and their biggest concern with Jenks is his "make-up". They don't feel like he'll be able to pitch more than 3 or 4 years in the majors with his current physique and mentality. They love his stuff, but don't project him as having it for a very long time. They do love Chris Young though.
