  1. Is there any reason not to have someone run for Everett?
  2. We need AJP to get the runner in, and not put Crede in a tougher situation. This is deja-vu from last night almost.
  3. Good hit by Rowand. Everett looked like he busted a tire going into 3rd. Ozuna should be in to run for Everett. And yes, I know I wasn't the only one praying for Cora to hold up Everett.
  4. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 02:20 AM) I think we're complaining more about the eventual complaining that will start after the game. That's why we just have to win this f'n game, and worry about that stuff tomorrow.
  5. Why are we complaining about the calls so much? They missed some of them, but that happens a lot in baseball. Umps very rarely call a guy out in that Pods situation from this inning. We just have to make sure we capitalize on these breaks, and win this f***ing game.
  6. Umpires never call the guy out if he beats the ball by so much.
  7. Iguchi's been having a real trouble with 2 strikes recently. He's been very good this postseason though, so I'm not going to get too upset with him.
  8. That looked like a strike. Lets get creative, and try a hit-and-run here.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 02:04 AM) If we maintain the lead I'd like to see Marte come on in relief. Road game, close but not too close. I would imagine he'd have a short leash too. I respectfully disagree. The best chance the Angels have of coming back in this game is with a couple of walks leading up to an extra base hit. I'd rather go with the guys who we can trust won't have as good of a chance as walking the first two batters as they would getting the first two guys out.
  10. Whew, that was huge! Good reflexes by Crede.
  11. Ugh! That top of the inning seemed doomed as soon as AJP swung at the 3-1 pitch over his head. Big inning here for Garcia with 2-3-4.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) Whatever guys, fathom, lets just enjoy this game and stop the pods argument...agree to disagree. Deal? Oh, of course. I was just sharing in the conversation about what has caused Pods to be ineffective. I actually thought he showed pretty solid base running on Dye's grounder, as he showed some conservatism.
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 01:50 AM) Pods isn't going to admit he's bothered. The thing is, I see him running the bases, like on a single into the outfield, and he seems to be running fine. I know a groin injury can really hamper a runner (I was all about that fact when people were thinking Pods was going to automatically jump start this offense when he came back). However, I think that Pods never regain the confidence after the injury, and being caught stealing so frequently has made it even harder for him. Lately, he's been going on the first pitch, and the other team knew it was coming. He just went on a 2-0 pitch, and had a much easier time.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 01:45 AM) The guy had 70 stolen bases last year and got thrown out 12 or 13 times when everyone knew he'd be running, he was stealing everything in the first half when everyone knew he was going, now all the sudden he just can't steal bases anymore?? BULL, a groin injury slows you down so much. Pods has been quoted many times in the last month saying it's not the injury, it's his timing and confidence.
  15. Rowand looks like absolute s*** at the plate. Will someone please tell him to get his hands out away from his body?
  16. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 01:42 AM) LOL> Its hilarious how you hate on Pods. Like he's been trying to get thrown out in the second half, nevermind the fact that his legs aren't near 100 %. Almost everyone in the majors would love to have Pods. Please stop using the injury excuse for Pods. He's said he's been as healthy as he can be at this point in the season. It's all about confidence, rhythm, and predictability with Pods.
  17. f*** yeah Carl! Great to see him not swing out of his ass.
  18. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 01:41 AM) Looked like a line out Yeah, that was solid base running, as he made sure that he didn't make the final out on the bases.
  19. That wasn't even close. He was clearly out.
  20. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) Eh.. Finley is throwing it from centerfield, and his arm isnt that bad if I remember. Its not really bad baserunning imo. Iguchi made it to 2nd on a more shallow fly ball.
  21. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) Yep. Terrible on the paths too. HE blows. And lets not even get into his clutchness, or lack thereof. Huh? You were being sarcastic earlier when you said he's really been bad recently. However, his base running and clutch ability has been beyond pathetic for far too long.
