I would never let Shields pitch to PK here. I know PK has struggled against him, but I'd have a hard time pitching to PK with a base open. This could be a huge, huge hit for the Sox.

Jphat....got a few hard outs that inning! Contreras has lost his arm angle, which is flattening out his spllitter and causing him to lose a little control. He's still fine though.

I haven't seen too much of it tonight, but one of the things I remembered from the Cubs being up 3-1 in 2003 is that they seemed to lose some of their focus at the plate, and try to hit the 3 run homer with no one on base.
