  1. So far, there's been two huge ABs in this game. The Berkman AB in the 3rd, and the AJP in the 5th. We're losing that battle big time so far. Get the pen up Ozzie!
  2. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:56 AM) Some would say bad move by guillen. What did he do wrong? I hate Ozzie, but I thought he managed well that inning. It's just that AJP should know better than to roll over on the ball.
  3. Huge f***ing play in this game. I'm shocked AJP didn't try to let that first pitch hit him.
  4. Great job Carl, and good call by Ozzie.
  5. Some great swings by PK tonight. Everett is a huge DP threat here with his chop swing.
  6. I'd offer Crede 3 yrs, 16 million after the season, and hope to see him in his peak years at 3rd base. Even though Crede could possibly get more after next season, he could also make himself a lot less if he hits .220 next year with 16 homers and has more back problems.
  7. That's a great inning by Contreras.
  8. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) He crushed it foul? I don't get too upset when a ball is foul by that amount. The Astros have a few that were similar to that tonight. The Angels had quite a few similar hits in our series.
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) I know. I think he should have waited back a few tenths of a second to keep that ball fair. Somebody needs to explain to him how to do that. Iguchi has struggled with hanging curves all season. Thankfully, he connected on one vs Wells.
  10. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) Good inning anyways. We saw more pitches off a new guy and we have Dye-Kong-Geriatric Park: The Lost Swing up next inning. I think we will add two more soon I bet we'll see a new pitcher next inning. Time for Contreras to hold them after we score.
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:38 AM) And he crushed it. Huh?
  12. QUOTE(aiko @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) C'mon Iguchi.. break out of your funk now, please. He's becoming a rally killer.
  13. Great time for Iguchi to sit on a curve and crank it David Wells style. Also, Rowand needs a haircut.
  14. You know what I love: That Crede has busted his ass to give the Sox a reason to bring him back and give him a 3 yr deal.
  15. Contreras is a few mph down tonight, and his forkball is up in the zone and not really moving a lot. He has to stick with his 2 seam fastball.
  16. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) But he is a lefty. We SHOULD get to him He's obviously trying to get ahead in the count. We need to jump all over that first pitch. No reason to care about his pitch count.
  17. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) He has 0 patience at the plate Especially when he's batting righty, all you have to do is throw it in the dirt, and he's way out in front of the pitch.
  18. We took a lot of great pitches right down the cock that inning.
  19. We gotta get Iguchi going at the plate again. I do have high hopes for Dye and Uribe this series.
  20. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) I don't like walking the bases loaded that early. Besides, Count k'd him earlier. He hung a forkball, and Berkman smoked it. You don't have to walk them loaded, more just pitch around him and don't throw something over the plate. Oh well, it's a brand new game and Clemens is out.
  21. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) I don't know about by far. THeir numbers are fairly similar. Ensberg has struggled mightily lately, and Berkman is a stud from the left side of the plate.
  22. Well, Clemens must be hurt. Sucks we couldn't get Berkman out, or we would have had all the momentum.
  23. Bekrman is the best Astros hitter BY FAR! Next time there's an open base, we need to go around him.
  24. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) That blows. Stupid Biggio blooper. It was a good swing up the middle. Credit the Astros for hanging in on the pitch, and blame the Sox pitcher.
  25. I'm going to say it right now: Contreras is tipping his splitter. The Astros have been on almost every one he's thrown tonight.
