  1. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 07:15 PM) yep, if ozuna has to play in the OF ozzie would have to get creative and shift anderson to right pods in CF and ozuna in left, that would defensively be the best situ. imo. i dont want to see that happen and i know ozzie has the brains not to do something like that If that ever happens, then our organization learned NOTHING last season. Pods should never play CF again, even in a slow-pitch softball league.
  2. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 07:11 PM) Jermaine Dye was removed from Wednesday's game after one inning with a strained left calf. Rob Mackowiak replaced him. If Dye's going to miss some time, the White Sox will go with a platoon of Mackowiak and Pablo Ozuna in right field. Apr. 5 - 2:44 pm et Ozuna might be the weakest right fielder in the history of baseball if he started there.
  3. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) The thing to remember about Cleveland is one of their big keys is what they got out of the bottom of their rotation in Byrd and Johnson, which on paper doesn't look very impressive, and we got to see neither this series. Not to mention that now Sabathia is going to be injured for a while, so we'll see how their rotation holds up. And of course their is also the issue of bullpen depth that they have (as do we of course). Most teams would love to have those two guys at the bottom of their rotation. Who's to say that they won't be better than our bottom 2 (possibly Garland and Garcia)?
  4. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:58 PM) It appears we don't have much of a choice today. I don't know why anyone is surprised. This is the way that Ozzie manages...and he deserves the benefit of the doubt. How come I have a feeling like people will be jumping off the ledge if we lost 2 of our first 3 games?
  5. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) Indians are playing pretty good baseball. They're also a damn good team. Going into this year, they have just as good a chance as anyone in our division to win it. It will be interesting to see if their guys take another leap this year (like Perralta, Sizemore, etc.).
  6. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) Our lineup is getting owned right now by Lee. This isn't exactly a strong lineup vs lhp, especially with Dye out of the game.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) Well, if it turns out to be something serious, I do have 2 decent sounding words: Ryan Sweeney. All I know is I don't want to see our benchers get overexposed by having to start too many games in a row. I'd have no problem if they called up Sweeney to see if he could provide some offense.
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:48 PM) I think Hawk might have been right saying the Sox and Cleveland could be the 2 best teams in the AL. I'm just hoping for 10-9 against them this year and hopefully we kick the crap outta everybody else in the Central like we did last year. I think the Tigers are going to be much improved this season.
  9. Sounds like we're swinging for the downs so far.
  10. How close were Pods and Mackowiak's to going out?
  11. This is where I wish we had a back-up outfielder who bats righty.
  12. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:30 PM) I always thought it was the other way around. It is
  13. QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:25 PM) our starting pitching has been terrible so far We're facing a superior hitting team who matches up well with our pitchers (even though they dominated them for the most part last year in terrible hitting conditions). Look around baseball.....a lot of starters suck so far.
  14. Time to get a hit this season Pods
  15. Count should have been pushed back until Friday after his allergic reaction this week.
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) It never hurts to have a division team lose to an out of division team. No matter what time in the year. GO JAYS Absolutely not, especially when Johan is on the mound.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 12:19 AM) Heh. Well, that was a pleasant turn of events. 3-1 Toronto after a BOMB by B. Molina.
  18. Johan looks very sharp for the Twins so far.
  19. QUOTE(OilCan @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) guys guys guys..... If anyone falters from our starting rotation, then we have a pretty darn good equalizer: Two words: Brandon McCarthy. And then our bullpen is even more of a question mark.
  20. Garcia's velocity has been gradually decreasing over the past 3-4 years. People act like he was throwing 94 mph constantly last year. That's not true at all. He was in the 91 mph range on average last season with his fastball.
  21. Garcia just wasn't putting much effort into his pitches. He was trying to aim his fastball to hit his spots, and his slider was just rolling up to the mound. Maybe he thought this was still Spring Training? Cotts looked pretty solid today, but I'm definitely concerned about Garcia and Jenks. At least we have Thome!
  22. Garcia definitely looks like he didn't miss many meals this offseason.
  23. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 10:02 PM) You're going to have to ask Pods for the answer to that one. I, for one, wouldn't mind him getting on base once in a while. But he's our catalyst When he starts reaching base, I don't want to see him run if he's not healthy. No reason to give away outs with the power we have at 3-4-5.
  24. All I know is this....I don't want to see Garcia become a soft tosser like DJ was suggesting he wants to try and be.
  25. QUOTE(rventura23 @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 08:49 PM) aaron boone is the worst starter in baseball Um...no. Not even close.
