Time for Contreras to make a good pitch. We're one hit away from this being a close game again.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 04:05 AM) Has he talked about how matt stairs use to be the best bargain in baseball in the 90's? He does nearly every single game stairs makes an appearance. I've said for a while now that Ozzie fears Stairs as much as any hitter in baseball.

Here's an idea that hasn't been followed much lately: Lets hold the other team scoreless after we get some runs!!!
-
Thank you Chip Ambres!!! That makes up for the Indians debacle....kinda!
-
Hey hey...we take advantage of the blown call by the umpire, and Dye goes the other way for a clutch hit. There's hope afterall SSI!!!

Not only does our team suck, but Hawk is disgracing himself by continuosly calling Wood as Woods. What is this, Carrie Woods on the mound?
-
QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 03:17 AM) Well that inning could have been ALOT worse Yep, one more run, and we would have had to do something we haven't done in about 45 games.
-
I liked this team a lot better when Crede was on the DL.
-
Hawk sounds as disappointed as ever with the effort by the Sox offense.
-
Now he has to solve his next possible record of first player to ever hit at least 12 homers in one year, and none the next.
-
Leadoff walk by Contreras. The Sox get a leadoff walk, and you would never guess it.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:54 AM) They sent Marte home. Now the chemistry is perfect. They can't lose. I can't wait for another smear campaign when we get rid of Marte. Wasn't Marte portrayed as the good guy when we got rid of Carlos Lee?
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:53 AM) The White Sox definitely don't have a bounce in their step or a swagger. This is KC for crying out loud. They look like they are asleep. Ozzie wanted to get away from Chicago to get away from the panic, but his team looks like they are getting more than a little uncomfortable with their dwindling lead. Yeah, I'm still not sure where this team stands. Have they just run out of gas? Are we, the fans, just freaking out? Has Ozzie lost control of this team? Tune in 3 weeks from now, and you'll have your answers.

Wood's getting away with a ton of pitches up in the zone. Sure would be nice to capitalize on mistakes once in a while.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:50 AM) Whenever you think of just about anything, you get so pissed off. Yeah, I get so pissed off that we don't have Bellhorn to help the team!
-
Wow, AJP just missed that pitch. Great, one of those nights where everyone has WTP.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:48 AM) Why didn't Ambres drop that ball like he did against CLE? Whenever I think of that play, I get so pissed off.
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:45 AM) LOL> Hawk sounds pissed. where was that pitch. Trust me, I want the Sox to win every game they ever play. However, if the Sox were to continue to struggle and the lead shrinks even more, I'm very worried for Hawk's mental health. He's put so much of his ego on the line for this team, that I'm not sure he'd get over it anytime soon. Anyways, lets hope it never comes to that.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:34 AM) I watched the last 2 episodes and I really got into it. I like all the twists and what not. Besides, Michael Scoefield is such a cool f***ing name. Every time I heard that name, I want to ask "Is he Dick Schofield's son?"
-
I wouldn't mind a DH against KC, as the Royals would likely play a ton of benchers in one of the games. Thus, if Ozzie plays a standard lineup both games, we could have a big advantage. However, if we have a DH, the loss of Marte will hurt.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:29 AM) We got somewhat lucky in the 1st half winning all those 1 run games. Now it's coming back to haunt us, as are pitching hasn't been nearly as good in the 2nd half. I just we can turn it on the rest of the way, because if this thing get's within 2 games by the end of this week I think I'm going to have a stroke. We'd have to win a game this week to likely keep the lead above 3. No offense to certain posters, but I can't believe there are still some people concerned about having to face the A's in the playoffs, and thus are rooting for them to lose even against the Indians and Twins.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:24 AM) No one listened to me. :headshake Agreed, while so many people bashed me for saying that crazier things have happened than a team blowing such a big lead and not making the playoffs.
-
QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:23 AM) It's been a GRIND all season long man. I think I can count on 1 hand how many games we blew out the other team. Yeah, even games where we jump ahead to a big, early lead, the other team still seemed to at least get the tying run to the plate sometime over the course of the late innings.
-
QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) It's bad man. :headshake......... At the beginning of August i was content to just make the WS. Now I'll be content if we just make the dam playoffs!!!! Welcome to my world. Man, I wish I would have just enjoyed things more when we were 15 games up instead of worrying about this type of struggle. Oh well, we'll know in 3 weeks what to think of this season.
