  1. QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) Exactly. Juan had a reason to be out there, unlike Pods. My personal belief with a runner on 1st and 2nd is that if you're on 2nd, the one thing you can't do is get picked off like that. If the bunt is bad, you're likely going to be out no matter what at 3rd base because of the force out. It's not exactly a play where you have to get a great secondary lead because you need to be able to avoid the tag at 3rd base. It's a different situation if there was no outs, and the runner is on 2nd base w/no one else on.
  2. QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 06:14 PM) Thats not true. Most likely, that honor belongs to Carlos Lee. Uribe's steal percentage with the Sox is unbelievably bad.
  3. Another unbelievably bad game on the bases. If there's one runner who's worse than Pods, it's Uribe.
  4. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 06:08 PM) Just wondering... Mark Bellhorn was a whiz last night. Really?
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) Fathom, did you by chance watch Sunday Night Baseball last night? No, why?
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) Yep. The only question is whether he's starting at SS or 3B come April 2006. He'll be starting at SS. No chance we'll move him from the position where he excels defensively at. It's up to KW to find a 3b who can provide this team some offense.
  7. I think it's safe to say that Uribe has won his spot for next season.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 06:03 PM) Formerly Nicknamed 5 Home Runs at the Cell. Haha....don't forget Felix Diaz reincarnated.
  9. Who was that pitcher we called up earlier in the year who didn't throw a change-up? Was it Brendan McCarthur?
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:58 PM) Well, we've already established that you aren't a Sox fan. So why are you here? What happened with this guy?
  11. Anyone else think Iguchi dropped that ball? Considering the way he rolled over, and the ball was in his bare hand, I'm surprised the umpire didn't blow that call.
  12. I think either Granderson or Monroe just robbed Perralta of a sure homer.
  13. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:55 PM) Blum has 2 hits. Timo has a go ahead RBI. wtf No kidding.
  14. Is it too much to suggest Ozzie should get Cotts ready in the bullpen? With the 2-3-4 coming up, Cotts should be ready in case Nixon is up in a big spot.
  15. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:53 PM) Woo! Man on third, less than 2 out again. Nada. Like I said a few minutes ago, every insurance run counts against the Red Sox. I'd even suggest that Widger AB could be more critical than Pods getting picked off.
  16. QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) Widger sucks. If AJP needs rest, put in Cassanova. I dont want to watch this schmuck Widger play. A popup with a runner on third? How many times are we gonna screw up with a runner on third and less than two outs? Widger's had some huge hits for the team this year. Also, he's done a great job catching McCarthy in the last game and a half. It's just a little disturbing to see such a poor AB in a big spot.
  17. QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) All he does is hit homers. MVP is Iguchi, by far. Shouldn't you be managing Ozzie?
  18. You had to know that after Widger's long AB last time, he was going to have a short AB. His batting average sure has fallen.
  19. Big run at 3rd. Every insurance run helps at this point.
  20. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Paul's bat must be melting in his hands...... Someone's in their free agent year stretch drive! Even if it results in him going to a different team after this season, at least he's contributing so much to this team.
  21. PK looks like he could get extra base hits at will against Schilling. I remember him blasting a homer against him last time we were here also.
  22. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) Not that most of us care what the national media think but this could be an eye-opening win for the national folks. Beating Schilling at Fenway, where they have been almost uneatable lately. As one of the main pessimists on this board, you should know that there's still a long way to go in this game.
