  1. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Juan performing well is bitter sweet to me. I want him to do well for the sake of the team, but the better he performs, the more Kenny and Ozzie love him and the less likely we will go after Furcal. Unless, we went after Furcal and moved Uribe to 3b, which would be a logical move to me. I know others disagree w/me, but I wouldn't worry about Furcal. He's going to get a ton of money this offseason, and I can't see us getting into a bidding war with the Cubs for him. Considering his agent is Aramis Ramirez's agent, and they're close friends.....it leads me to believe that if the Braves don't bring him back, he'll be playing for the Cubs next year.
  2. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) Who cares. He's getting outs. he can throw 46 for all i care. For some reason, that just made me think of Jim Parque.
  3. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:37 PM) Is Brandon really only throwing 86 mph or is it the gun at Fenway? The gun seems a little slow to me.
  4. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:35 PM) hooray for juan uribe not looking like a little leaguer at the plate He'd have the biggest ass of a Little League player since Sean Burroughs.
  5. It looks like both Uribe and Harris have started using a leg kick at the plate. I always thought that Crede would be better off using a leg kick, and get away from the poor swings that have hurt him so far in his career.
  6. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) Can I quote you over and over on that? In regards to what?
  7. QUOTE(kman @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) when was the last time weve seen a squeeze? I think in the 2nd game of the Indians series after the ASB. Pretty sure it was Iguchi also.
  8. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) Juan starting to heat up.............. That leg kick is great. You can completely tell that he's seeing the ball better. He's also keeping his hands back so much better.
  9. Very nice! Great base running by Blum. For someone that loves to say "stretch" on any ball hit within 10 feet of the track, Hawk was rather quiet on that hit.
  10. I think Sox games would be more enjoyable the rest of the season if the e-mail wasn't working. Every e-mail Hawk reads ends up being his "views" on how great the Sox are.
  11. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) Of all the individual player bashings, I find this kind of attittude, concerning PK, the most perplexing. I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic.
  12. Whew, thought that was gone. Great job pitching over the leadoff walk.
  13. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) Indians 1-0. COulda been much worse. First 3 men got base hits. Peraltta was an idiot and got thrown out, Hafner K'd with a guy on 3rd, and martinez go out Tigers slapped around Elarton last time they saw him. Indians definitely could have scored more runs that inning.
  14. Close play at first there, but it wasn't as obvious as the unbiased Hawk would make you think.
  15. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) Timo does what three men could not. Just saying it's good we can't make sexual jokes on here now!
  16. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) He's just not a #3 hitter. Everett used to take swings that would hit liners all over the field. Now, he seems to be swinging out of his ass every AB in trying to hit a 460 ft homer.
  17. Did you know that Pods is on pace to become the first batter in MLB history to ever hit at least 12 homers one year, and hit zero the next? He's also on pace to have the most stolen bases in history without a triple.
  18. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:03 PM) Ed Farmer and John Rooney refer to Santana's slider (or maybe changeup) as a screwball. It would be his change-up.
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) The NESN broadcasters just thought B-Mac's change looked like a screwball. It has great movement on it. If he could master it tailing back on the outside corner, he'll rack up the K's in his career.
  20. There's always fewer new threads after a Sox win because of the White Sox Winner thread. All posts about the game go into that thread. However, there's no post game thread if the Sox lose, so various different threads start up.
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) Our hitters are chasing a lot of s*** up in their eyes today. Blum with an error. Great its a f***ball baseball day. GO TIGERS!
