With that leg kick, Uribe has 30 homer power.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) i love pablo. That wasn't a hard play or anything, but still. As long as he continues to play solid 3rd base, he's a huge asset to this team. His hustle is just tremendous. It was also nice to see Ozzie say today that he can't play Ozuna too often, or else he'll lose his effectiveness. That's a great philosophy when putting a reserve into the starting lineup.

It wasn't pretty, but Duque got us back in the dugout.
-
Wow, Duque got screwed on that 3-2 pitch. Lima was definitely getting that pitch the inning before.
-
Lets go Duque. Everything has been up so far tonight.
-
Sensational swing by Rowand there. Even SSI would be extremely proud of that swing.
-
Everett needs a day to rest. He's been taking some real bad swings. And no, Pods had no chance to score on that double.
-
It usually seems like Iguchi lines out to third when he hits the ball down the line. Everett needs to get one in, get one over.
-
Quite a small crowd at the game tonight. Also, Indians are winning 2-0 in the 3rd. Needless to say, the Tigers offense is struggling.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) Its a win-win situation with Borchard. Our only chance to get something for him is to play him and see if we can get his value up. If not, we are going to lose him for nothing or next to nothing anyway. I am estatic to see that Baj got the call over Adkins, like he should have a month ago. I also am looking forward to seeing more of the Brian Anderson show. I just hope we put Anderson into the outfield instead of Everett against lefties. If I were Ozzie, I'd try to avoid putting Everett in the field as much as possible to avoid risking injury.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 01:15 PM) I'll be there for my 'batting practice fantasy experience'...and we will win! Go Sox. That's funny, because "batting practice fantasy experience" is Lima's new nickname.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) Essentially, getting Overbay would be the same thing as using Gload. ~.300 hitter with ~20 HR. It is? Overbay has proven over the course of a season he can be an above average MLB run producer. Gload is definitely an unproven player, and I think he sealed his fate with this organization with his recent comments.

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 04:51 AM) Thank god it is not Mike North being mentioned :banghead Wow, I didn't even think about that. It wouldn't shock me if that was a possibility. He is the face of the Score.

I've never understood why people get so upset with the direction of our announce team. Either you're going to listen to them or not, no matter who's announcing. I'm not a fan of DJ at all, but I still watch every game on TV. There's a much bigger matter us Sox fans should worry about.....THE 2005 WHITE SOX SEASON!

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 01:57 AM) If John aint comin back I want Stoney. He does work for the Score and he would be perfect. Stone's not coming back to do radio. He's waiting now to either become a GM, Manager, or Co-owner of a team.

There was a play that I didn't criticize? I didn't even know that was possible. -

QUOTE(YASNY @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 12:34 AM) The errors aren't bonehead. That's just physical misplays. The pick offs were mentioned. So, nope, you didn't get it. Are you talking about Everett half-assing it in the 9th? -
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) I'm in total awe of this kid right now. 14 2/3 shutout innings against the two best offenses in the American League, ON THE ROAD. The Marlins better hope they can resign Burnett, or else they're gonna look awfully foolish. It wasn't the Marlins that put the kabosh on the trade, I think the Sox backed away when they realized Burnett didn't want to resign here.

I really enjoy the new Dr. Pepper commercial set to "I would do anything for love".

If we're thinking of using McCarthy as a long reliever in the playoffs, then we need to get him experience with this role before the playoffs start (of course, if we get there). Duque is clearly our 5th best starting pitcher right now, with McCarthy just not having enough starts to jump ahead of him. I think it would be a mistake to take the results Duque had in the past in the postseason and confuse them with the pitcher he is now.

Indians win. Another heartless effort by the Tigers. I'm not sure how their manager has a job after another poor season with seemingly good talent.
-
Infield single for Monroe with two guys on ends up with Pudge getting in a rundown ending the inning. At least the Tigers sucked against us also.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) Well even if BMAC isn't as sharp it's still better then going to war with a tired El Duque... I mean in Texas he was fine through 5... but as soon as he got close to that 100 pitch mark they just starting teeing off on him like batting practice... I'd sure hate to see that in the playoffs... A good game for Duque usually equates to about 3 runs allowed. Every other starter we have gives up about 0 or 1 runs when they have a great game. Duque doesn't deserve to start for us in the postseason....but I have a strong hunch that he will.
-
This was as good of a performance as I've seen all year by the Sox, outside of the base running blunders. McCarthy pitched a great game, and really did a great job of keeping hitters off-balanced.
-
Good for him. She's definitely a good catch.
