  1. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 02:38 AM) Why does every game have to be a heart attack? Why can't we have insurance runs? :banghead We did a better job getting insurance runs vs the Angels than we had all season.
  2. Everett couldn't have asked for a better pitch to hit than that first pitch of the AB.
  3. Did anyone else hear the entire city of Chicago yell "What the f***?" when they showed Marte warming up?
  4. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 02:27 AM) I doubt you'll see Cotts in this game unless we lose the lead. I don't want Contreras to face Berkman again this game. Berkman's much more dangerous lefty.
  5. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 02:24 AM) If anyone didnt know who Joe Crede was, well, you do. I find it quite funny that so many people wanted AJ Burnett on the Sox. Now, Crede resembles Burnett so much, in terms of facial look (I tried to avoid using facial, sorry).
  6. I'd let Contreras face Tavares, and then bring in Cotts to face Berkman.
  7. Contreras got away with a meatball to Everett. Politte should be in this game.
  8. The bullpen needs to get warmed up right now. This is the World Series. I don't care how many pitches he's thrown, you need someone ready.
  9. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) qwerty, I think you stick with Iguchi. He shoudl come around. I would have watned to pull the plug on JD where he was but he came up big. I think Iguchi will snap out of it soon. If he absolutely sucks again tomorrow, I'd consider playing Harris vs Oswalt.
  10. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) I dont like it when people b**** about how bad the offense is doing while we are winning. If we are losing, its a different story, but we are winning, so get over it. When you have a golden opportunity like the Sox did in the 5th to get some breathing room, you need to cash in on it. It's a one run game, and one swing of the bat obviously can tie it or put the Astros in front. If the Sox were to lose this game, pundits will definitely talk about the Sox poor ABs with RISP.
  11. Iguchi's not even f***ing close to getting a hit. He's flying open so fast, and every swing is way off.
  12. I'm all for another hit-and-run with Pods at the plate here.
  13. AJP made a great stop in that AB vs Lamb to save the run.
  14. Well, we won that big battle.
  15. Yeah, the infield needs to be in here.
  16. So far, there's been two huge ABs in this game. The Berkman AB in the 3rd, and the AJP in the 5th. We're losing that battle big time so far. Get the pen up Ozzie!
  17. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:56 AM) Some would say bad move by guillen. What did he do wrong? I hate Ozzie, but I thought he managed well that inning. It's just that AJP should know better than to roll over on the ball.
  18. Huge f***ing play in this game. I'm shocked AJP didn't try to let that first pitch hit him.
  19. Great job Carl, and good call by Ozzie.
  20. Some great swings by PK tonight. Everett is a huge DP threat here with his chop swing.
  21. I'd offer Crede 3 yrs, 16 million after the season, and hope to see him in his peak years at 3rd base. Even though Crede could possibly get more after next season, he could also make himself a lot less if he hits .220 next year with 16 homers and has more back problems.
  22. That's a great inning by Contreras.
  23. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) He crushed it foul? I don't get too upset when a ball is foul by that amount. The Astros have a few that were similar to that tonight. The Angels had quite a few similar hits in our series.
  24. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) I know. I think he should have waited back a few tenths of a second to keep that ball fair. Somebody needs to explain to him how to do that. Iguchi has struggled with hanging curves all season. Thankfully, he connected on one vs Wells.
