  1. I hope Dye is ready for a play at the plate.
  2. If you keep Contreras in, you make it very likely they can steal 2nd base. Also, Contreras was a little up in the zone that inning, which is usually a sign of tiring. No second guessing this decision by Ozzie. Even if Jenks tanks, it's the right call. Well done Ozzie!
  3. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:15 AM) BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ozzie. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO You wanted Contreras to stay in?
  4. 2 out walk by Contreras. Berroa has a history of late inning homers against the Sox. Looks like it's going to be Jenks. GOOD JOB JOSE!
  5. Wow, that looked like a sure double off of the bat. Good catch Pods!
  6. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:11 AM) 9 left on base now. This is no way to beat the worst team in baseball. With everything going on with our offense, I'm not too worried about it.
  7. T. Long has all of his power against righty pitchers. I'm sure Contreras will probably start this inning, but just so it's not second guessing, I would have liked to see Cotts start the inning.
  8. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:03 AM) True. I was speaking of the Royals D that Cleveland took advantage of. F'n Chip Ambres.
  9. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:00 AM) There's the Royals D that we all know and love. Ozuna, infield 1b. Royals D has been sensational so far this series.
  10. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:00 AM) NO DP PLEASE!!! Sinker baller out of the game at least.
  11. That's Pablo being Pablo. Just no double plays Carl, we need PK up with someone on base.
  12. I think if Contreras allows one runner, you have to pull him because of the likelihood of a successful stolen base.
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 01:57 AM) Clutch! Contreras has made some very good pitches in critical situations tonight.
  14. Great pitch there! Will Ozzie pull Contreras, or will he let him continue? It's a tough call.
  15. Whew, two straight cookies. Make a good pitch Jose!
  16. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 01:54 AM) What a great job of pitching by Jose. That AB tells a lot. In the past Jose would have walked Blanco after the AB he had, and it woulda been bad with Sweeney on deck. Now he stays aggressive and gets him out. Couldn't agree more. It's similar to what Cotts has done all season.
  17. Sweeney kills us in these situations.
  18. Wow, good job Hawk! Does this mean Sweeney is homering now? Is it the jinx?
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 01:48 AM) No its not. Uribe swung at the first pitch the time before and got a triple. Almost a HR. Just not getting the right hits at the right spots tonight. It happens. Against Wood, you want to avoid his sinker. After a leadoff walk, the pitcher will usually come back with a first pitch fastball (sinker in Wood's case). Uribe belted that triple on a hanging curve. I agree though, we're just hitting the ball to the wrong part of the field. We're still taking a lot better swings than we were a few weeks ago.
  20. QUOTE(Reddy @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 01:48 AM) good inning guys... AUGUST IS BACK Willie is trying to muscle up and swing for the fences. My only complaint about having Harris, Pods, and Ozuna batting consecutively is that none of them can be relied on to drive in runs.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 01:47 AM) Another DP. Give me a f***ing break. Against a sinker baller, our aggressive swings are resulting in numerous ground outs.
  22. The pitcher walks the leadoff hitter, and Uribe swings at the next pitch? That's bad baseball.
