QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 03:34 AM) When on a message board all sarcasm needs to be in green... Is that grinder rule number 80?

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 03:29 AM) He would of allowed 6? And Jenks didnt give up any runs really you can blame them all on Iguchi. Ridiculous sarcastic comments don't need to be in green. I don't even think Shingo's wife would rather have him on the Sox than Jenks.
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 03:31 AM) Of course...who wouldn't?? Ok there is an obvious answer to that question. Exactly, you know what I was referring to.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 03:29 AM) This series is just at a bad time. It's a weeknight series against the Royals when everyone just went back to school. One thing: I'd rather win with 15K than lose with 30K.
  5. QUOTE(kevin57 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 03:28 AM) This is progress, I guess. Now, I can't wait until he criticizes some, any, aspect of the team, the manager, or club management. Should I hold my breath? Maybe he could make a joke how there were 30K at the game, but Joey Cora sent most of them home for no reason.

I'm still pissed we got rid of Shingo for Jenks. No way Shingo would have allowed 3 runs at Boston yesterday.
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 03:25 AM) I smell an attendance thread. YIPPIE We've had great attendance numbers lately, so that would be foolish if someone started another thread about it. I'm simply saying that I can't believe the crowd was so small, and I've never seen Hawk so upset about the attendance.
  8. BTW, in the postgame show, Hawk said the attendance tonight was very disappointing.
  9. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 03:21 AM) If Marte ISNT moved in some sort of package this off-season, I will be very, very suprised. I beleive Williams, along with Ozzie, is fed up with Damaso. EDIT:ISNT! I've been saying all along that we're going to use Contreras and Marte as our major trade chips this offseason, along with possibly someone like Sweeney.
  10. I'd take Dye and his contract over Ordonez and his contract any day of the week. A solid offensive producer can hit 25 homers at the Cell during an average year. It's not like Ordonez gave us amazing defense and terrific execution.
  11. I don't care how lucky we get, a win is a win. I simply don't think Ozzie gives our team the GREATEST chance to succeed a lot of the time with his pitching moves. A manager can hit a ball or make a pitch...but he can put the best personnel on the field at the appropriate times on a consistent basis. Jphat...would you still want Duque starting an inning the rest of the season when his pitch total is around 90?
  12. Great job by Hermanson! We can all breathe a little easier (including myself).
  13. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:51 AM) I get the feeling if we win the World Series people will still be complaining on the game thread how Ozzie managed. It's actually quite amusing. I can guarantee you that is false. As one of the prime pessimists on this board, you'd never hear a word from me about Ozzie after the season.
  14. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:50 AM) Hermy has a great closer attitude, if healthy Hermy can be good because he has definitley shown it. Problem is, he came out today and said he's not healthy.
  15. Almost a disasterous bounce on that grounder. Sit down Hocking!
  16. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:47 AM) Uh. We only went 4 innings without a run. I totally forgot the PK homer. My bad.
  17. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:46 AM) Then everyone in baseball is a bad manager, because there is not a manager in baseball that takes Duque out giving up 1 run through 6 innings with a 9 1/2 game lead on September 6. There just isn't. And if you really believe there is, there is no reason to continue. WHat half the board thinks means absolutely nothing. Actually, most managers would be more cautious with an old, injury prone starting pitcher that he has plans of pitching in the postseason. Not only that, but it's not like our bullpen is tired. We have added arms in the bullpen to help out the rest of the season. Lets just win this game!
  18. If Sweeney comes to the plate this inning, can we just walk him?
  19. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:44 AM) what a ridiculous hit and run call... The idea was fine, just a terrible pitch to put in play. To make 3 outs on the bases though is poor, and that's how you don't score for 6 consecutive innings against bad pitching.
  20. 3 outs on the bases.
  21. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:38 AM) Jenks has gone the last 4? days? Hermy. Hermanson said his back's really bothering him. He even said that he doesn't feel like he has his best stuff right now. Jenks didn't pitch on Sunday.
  22. Good job Cliffy! Is it Hermanson or Jenks in the 9th?
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:36 AM) Relax, Relax. We got 5 outs to get against KC, and this will be a learning experience( God I hope) for Oz. Agreed. Even though I thought the Seattle game and the Rangers game would be a learning experience for Ozzie.
  24. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:33 AM) Pullling a Fathom, but does this have shades of KC tying the game, and us being short men in the pen.... I seriously want to know how I'm the only one who seems extremely pissed right now at this overall managing. We have a few more guys in the pen though.
  25. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) I could see this being one of those games! Ozzie Wastes his bullpen, then the game gets tied up into extra innings! We have a few more guys in the bullpen tonight.
