  1. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 03:27 AM) If it got to the point where Griffey was asked to accept a trade, his agent certainly would know about it. He also said Griffey told the Sox he was flattered, that would require communication, someone other than Bruce Levine certainly would know and would have reported this development. No one has. I'm sorry, but Levine himself staked his reputation to the Sox signing Omar Vizquel. You can think its plausible and it may be, but I'm not buying it. I think he jumped the gun and realized it, so he tried to squirm his way back. I still want to know the last time Levine has some actual "scoop"?
  2. Hopefully, this will put the Griffey Jr. rumors to sleep. The realist side in me says it won't, and Mr. Baseball Insider will continue to say there's a chance.
  3. PK looking slower than ever on that grounder. And Milkman.....that would make for a good mad-libs.
  4. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 03:15 AM) When Contreras doesn't have that deer in headlights look on his face, he is dominating. I agree. The thing with him is that you can never get comfortable that he has it in cruise control. He just needs to keep getting the first batter of the inning out, and avoid the stretch.
  5. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 03:14 AM) Pitch count? He is
  6. I can't remember the last time Contreras struck out two straight batters on his fastball. Most of his strike outs usually occur with the forkball.
  7. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 03:07 AM) How is it the White Sox were allowed to talk to Griffey? Wouldn't that be tampering? Levine is full of s***, Griffey's agent was on Fox and said he knew of nothing going on. Yep. To me, it sounds like Levine might have received some overly optimistic information, and was then told something different. Until I hear the Reds ownership is willing to trade him, I'm not going to believe anything will happen.
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 03:08 AM) f***, let him right off the hook, basically. Yeah, feels like we let a situation slip away where we could have really put Seattle in a giant hole. I do agree with Ozzie letting Anderson swing away though.
  9. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 03:07 AM) There no way thats Uribe's fault. With that arm in right he can't get to far from the bag! The thing is, if you saw the replay, he was about half way when it landed. He was likely going to be out either way. And trust me, I wasn't basing that statement on just one play. His SB/CS ratio on the Sox is less than 40 pct.
  10. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 03:03 AM) Since when do we have an offense??? I'm just happy we're getting to Pineiro. He has nothing. I was very disappointed we didn't light him up at the Cell a few weeks ago.
  11. Holy cow, is that a run scored without a homer? Good job...keep it up.
  12. Excellent execution by Blum. Crede who? I sure didn't miss the pop up in that situation.
  13. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 02:56 AM) going back to the 3 hole...other than grif....are there any real possibilities out there? Not sure who has cleared waivers. We just need someone in the 3 hole that can produce without having to hit homers.
  14. Good play by Blum. That ball might have knocked Ozuna into the outfield.
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 02:53 AM) Wow, bad. We could use a real 5-hole hitter, too. We have a number 5 hitter....but he's batting 3rd.
  16. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 02:49 AM) like who?...that wouldnt cost the whole farm or be blocked? Well, that guy on the Reds...but he doesn't want to come here. Everett would do this lineup a lot more good if he was batting 5th or 6th.
  17. I would LOVE to see KW get us a legit number 3 hitter.
  18. QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 02:47 AM) He's an absolutely horrendous in game manager --is he really that bad?? Many of us seem to think so.
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 02:31 AM) Man, NOBODY wants you on that team. Don't be so sure about that. If the reports are true, Griffey Jr. is the centerpiece of the team in regards to their own selling the team.
  20. I think DJ just gave his most insightful comments ever in his constructive criticism of Iguchi's defense.
  21. Check out the awful start by Roy Oswalt tonight. 8 of the first 9 batters have reached.
  22. 2-0 Sox on a homer by Dye!!! Didn't even look like he got all of it, but it went about 400 feet.
  23. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 02:12 AM) We should hammer Pineiro!! Not if we continue to chase that low stuff in the dirt. I can't believe how much worse his stuff is now compared to a few years ago.
