  1. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) No, Damaso coming in. Why? He sucked last night and has shown no control over the entire year, so why bring him in a 1-0 game? Jenks was breezing through. Yep, I just don't get why Marte continues to be used in these situations. I said it last night: Ozzie fears Stairs just as much as any superstar in baseball. If you remember, Stairs was the main culprit in Ozzie's awful managing in the opener last season.
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) Sometimes I wish he'd get that hook down a bit. Its awesome that he can throw it for a strike, but at 1-2, throw it lower. Absolutely. That slider he threw to Manny in his last appearance seems like a better pitch than his looping curve.
  3. Ozzie fears Stairs. Always has....and now he brings in someone who gave up a hit to Stairs last night. BAD CALL OZZIE!
  4. Uribe trying to scare us by fielding that ball funny?
  5. Give him the heater!
  6. Jenks is staying in the game.
  7. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) UGH! AJ looks very Jose Valentin-esque there. Ha, good call....bad memories.
  8. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:24 AM) I'd still take him without hesitation. Not for the price they were asking for.
  9. Rowand hasn't had a fun night at the plate.
  10. For everyone that wanted Billy Wagner....he just lost two straight games in what could easily be the Phillies biggest games of the season.
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:20 AM) Score 6 and bring in David Sanders. But then people on here would be pissed that Baj didn't come in.
  12. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) Yep. I have more faith in him than anyone on our staff right now. Fair enough. I think Ozzie has seen his starters give up a lot of runs late in the game recently, and decided to take Contreras out so he could only win the game, not lose it.
  13. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) Woah. Really got in on him. Anyone else worried it might have been a blooper over the infield?
  14. Jenks or Hermanson in the 9th?
  15. Way to stick with the heater! Good job Ozzie!
  16. I hope Dye is ready for a play at the plate.
  17. Ugh, that would have been nice.
  18. If you keep Contreras in, you make it very likely they can steal 2nd base. Also, Contreras was a little up in the zone that inning, which is usually a sign of tiring. No second guessing this decision by Ozzie. Even if Jenks tanks, it's the right call. Well done Ozzie!
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:15 AM) BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ozzie. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO You wanted Contreras to stay in?
  20. 2 out walk by Contreras. Berroa has a history of late inning homers against the Sox. Looks like it's going to be Jenks. GOOD JOB JOSE!
  21. Jenks and Cotts up in the pen.
  22. Wow, that looked like a sure double off of the bat. Good catch Pods!
  23. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:11 AM) 9 left on base now. This is no way to beat the worst team in baseball. With everything going on with our offense, I'm not too worried about it.
  24. T. Long has all of his power against righty pitchers. I'm sure Contreras will probably start this inning, but just so it's not second guessing, I would have liked to see Cotts start the inning.
  25. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 02:03 AM) True. I was speaking of the Royals D that Cleveland took advantage of. F'n Chip Ambres.
