  1. Damn, that was quite close from Iguchi.
  2. Hey DJ...Pods had a bunt hit last night!
  3. Way to go Juan! So, my fellow Internet managers.....why would you ever throw him a fastball there? That would have been a changeup call for yours truly.
  4. Yankees are losing 5-1!
  5. Uribe is way out in front of the change.
  6. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) Its amazing how we can go to euphoric on Sunday to feeling so crappy right now. Just amazing. Outside of facing possibly the worst pitcher in baseball in Mays on Saturday night, our offense still wasn't very good over the wknd. It's all about hitting with RISP now, and our hitters are failing miserably. It also helped we were facing a minor league lineup on Sunday.
  7. Red Sox lead 2-0.
  8. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 11:51 PM) That is pretty damn sad. What was Ozzie expecting with this lineup? You saw the numbers coming into the game.
  9. McCarthy better keep the ball down. My buddy Jphat might have had a heart attack by now if this was the Sox hitting.
  10. So...Ozzie has all this baseball knowledge supposedly, but he keeps playing a guy who is just clueless on offense? We're not allowed to question that?
  11. No one else I'd rather not have up.
  12. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) I just want to make sure. We're playing the TIGERS! The Detroit f***ING Tigers! with the 70-86 record? With a SP with a 6-15 record? Am I correct? The Tigers have a superior offensive lineup to the Sox.
  13. I find it funny how Ozzie stressed in the pregame that the Sox need to look opposite field against Robertson.
  14. This team is just f***ing brutal.
  15. Another leadoff runner for the Sox. How will they screw this one up?
  16. This is going to be a long night. They've been scolding the ball against McCarthy. To the Sox know they're in a pennant race?
  17. If our top of the order doesn't produce tonight, we're not scoring many runs. Our 6-7-8-9 might be the worst in Sox history tonight.
  18. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) I would almost rather see Carl go 0-3 rather than 2-3 just so he can sit his ass on the bench. I hope..... Do you really think Ozzie will make a change? He already said he was going to sit him, but he didn't. Everett doesn't have a f***ing prayer at the plate....YET HE KEEPS PLAYING!
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) Well, subtract 9 months...and I think we're right around the time of Soxfest last winter, and right before Spring Training. Kinda like when the A's had like 3 players who had kids exactly 9 months after the All-Star Break.
  20. I hope Everett has fun next year playing with his one year, one million dollar contract. We'll see how much complaining he does when he's the back-up DH on the Yankees.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) And Fathom, that also ignores the fact that all 3 of those guys should be better offensive players than they have been this year. Just to toss that in...each one of them should be better than they have been (Ditto AJ). Not just talking historical production...mainly just in terms of potential ability and what we've seen those guys do in stretches. Until they prove it again, there's no way to know what their offensive potential is. Crede and Uribe are always going to be streaky hitters, who either look really good or just awful.
  22. Rowand's a perfect outfielder if you have an above average offense besides him. The problem is that between him, Uribe, and Crede, you have three guys who are more defensive players than they are offensive. That's fine and dandy in the NL, but in the AL, you have to be able to score.
  23. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) It's also odd cause even Hawk and DJ were saying the same thing and they usually back Ozzie up so something must be going on if they are not agreeing with him, even on the air. Those two, along with Melton, have been very open about some of their criticisms with Ozzie's managing. DJ continues to ask questions regarding why a starting pitcher is still in the game.
  24. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) Pods, LF Gooch, 2B Rowand, CF PK, 1B Dye, RF Carl, DH Ozuna, 3B Widger, C Uribe, SS McCarthy, RHP. Everyone can relax.....Everett is in the lineup!!!!!
  25. With the likely 6-7-8-9 tonight of Everett, Widger, Uribe, and Ozuna, these are the numbers for these guys: 11-76, 8-45, 5-41, and 5-31. Between the 4 guys, they're 29 for their last 193. That's a stunning .150 batting average. Good luck Brandon, you're going to need it.
