QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) If he can show he's still somewhat healthy, i think there may be a few biters out there Do you really think any team will believe he's healthy? He's proven over the last few years he can only make a certain amount of starts before breaking down. It's not like he's on the last year of a one million dollar deal. He's scheduled to make like 5 mil next year, I thought.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:32 AM) Glad a packed house got to see a great game. I'm also glad Rowand and Anderson didn't collide on that play.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:30 AM) It also matters what happens this October...if we march through a few rounds and Jose steps up as big as he has been of late...then would you want to be the one who takes a piece out of a pitching staff that could have 5 15 game winners next year? If PK leaves, then yes, we're not going to have 5 15 game winners next season with the offense we'd be left with.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:30 AM) If we can trade Duque, I'd do it in a heartbeat. So would I, but I highly doubt he has any value.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) Blalocks numbers are inflated by playing in TBIA. He's hitting .242/.285/.350 with 5 HR and 29 RBI on the road this year. Dunn is a possibility though. Felix...Hank's had a bad season, yet you don't think he can improve next year? I see in another thread that you mention Rowand will be back to form next year? Blalock is a much more dangerous hitter than Rowand at a position that we're definitely lacking a big time hitter. I'd rather have Dunn though.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:27 AM) I think trading Contreras in the offseason would be a bad move, unless we can upgrade are offense significantly. If not, I'd hold on to him till the AS break, and see how things play out. It all matters what we want to do with Duque. If we're forced to start him, Contreras's value will never be higher than it is this offseason. Some teams will think he's the ace they've been looking for, and with one year left on his deal, he's not a huge risk.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) Would you do 4/48? Sure, it's not my money PK has been very reliable, and doesn't seem like an injury prone player. I'm not sure he has any muscles to pull. Also, he's proven that his numbers aren't steroid related, something that a lot of guys who signed big deals this year have failed to do. Like I said earlier, take a look at Javy's stats.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:23 AM) But what 1b will you pick up that has the offensive production that Konerko has? Overbay or Tracy? Dont make me laugh. The 1b with Paul's production arent going to be available for trade or FA for many years to come. Maybe you get rid of PK, find a solid offensive 1b like Overbay or Tracy, and save some money in order to get a DH that can hit above .250. Getting rid of PK gives this team a lot of flexibility. I'm still on the Contreras and Marte for Dunn or Blalock bandwagon.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:22 AM) I think Rollins for $40 over 5 years is worse. He's a damn solid SS. Wait until Furcal gets 4/45 in the offseason.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) I wouldn't pay him more than 12 per. period I'd offer PK 3/36, and if he said no, I'd wish him well and look to make a trade for a 1b.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) Im not sure, I think that keeping him in might give him some confidence, since he has dominated this game. 8-1 gives him plenty of confidence.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) Considering the market which is available for the Sox if Konerko walks, yes. He's a good 40 HR hitter a year, something which isnt going to be available at 1b in the FA market for many years to come.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:19 AM) I know. But w/ this lead, this late, there's no reason for him to be in there anymore Especially when there's been concern about his health/fatigue.

Great start by Garcia. Take him out though, no reason for him to stay in.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) Yes. I'd be willing to give Konerko up to ~$18 million, but past that, im not sure about it. He adds some sort of fear to our lineup, something Tracy, Overbay, or Gload dont do. He is the rock of the lineup, and I see no reason to be stingy in paying him. 18 million a year?

Casanova should be in for AJP. No reason to risk injury w/him.

Garcia stays in the game, but Gload's at 1b and made a great pick on the play.

Iguchi has a very quiet 12 game hitting streak. Jimmy Rollins has a 29 game hit streak now.

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) green? Sometimes, it's more fun not to use green. Like when I made some reference that we should have never got rid of Shingo for Jenks (back when Jenks was KRod).

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:05 AM) We need Burly tomorrow. We really need him. Assuming the Sox win this game, the Sox need to win 3 more to assure themselves of no worse than a tie for the WC.

Make a good pitch Garcia, and keep him in the park.
