  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:45 AM) Glad we got out of that one folks. Big game to win there with the Indians losing. At this point in the season, you take it however you can. For a second, I thought Timo would lose that in the lights, and Cuddyer could have a possible inside the parker.
  2. Lets DL Hermanson, and trade for Justin Speier. Of course, no clue who closer would be.
  3. Who would have ever thought before the year we'd be begging for Neal Cotts and Bobby Jenks? If nothing else, kudos to them!
  4. Hermanson has got to stop hanging every f***ing slider!!! He got away with one there.
  5. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:39 AM) When the game's 6-3, I don't see the point in bringing Marte in with nobody on base. A bullpen disaster ready to happen. Exactly
  6. Holy crap. Didn't take Hermanson long to keep a ball up in the zone. This is ridiculous.
  7. Please, I pray it doesn't happen. But a loss tonight might equate to the biggest Sox fans meltdown ever! Lets win this game
  8. I would have taken my chances with Cotts, and if they get 5 runs against arguably the best reliever in baseball lately....you tip your cap and they deserve to tie the game up.
  9. It's never easy against these guys, is it?
  10. And know Cotts gets ready in the pen? Mercy Ozzie. Just let Cotts go out there and get the job done like he's been doing for the last few months.
  11. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:34 AM) Please be the good Marte! He should only face one batter if Mauer gets on. The problem is we're playing right into their hands of bringing in Morneau to face Hermanson if they get two guys on base. Mauer's a huge out here. NO WALKS!
  12. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:34 AM) Cotts>Marte You know it, I know it, Sox fans know it.
  13. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) He hasn't had much work lately. I know. I was more referring to about the last 30 games or so. He's been great though, no complaints overall.
  14. Marte is up, as is Hermanson. Where's Cotts and his 18 straight outings w/o allowing a run?
  15. Oh boy, here we go again. Cliff's fastball is just not the same lately.
  16. This won't be easy, will it? For the sake of my blood pressure, please don't let the tying run get to the plate.
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) Whether the Sox hold or or not...Buehrle Indeed. He stepped up in what was one of the biggest games of the year. Lets just hope we close this game out, and things will seem a lot brighter.
  18. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:20 AM) Considering we have a lot of games in a row, including 4 in a 3 day period next week. I think its a good idea to get your bullpen as much rest as possible. Unless you want Adkins to come in. Very true. It looks like Politte is warming up now.
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:18 AM) Lance Armstrong is just another asshole in a long line of assholes which is professional sports. Yes, it's great Armstrong can be an inspiration for other cancer survivors. However, I'll always remember this quote I heard by Boers and Bernstein about Armstrong "just cause you survive cancer, it doesn't make you a great guy".
  20. I thought I heard last night Indians have 5th best ERA in the AL. Westbrook has been surprisingly subpar this year, but C.C. seems to have got his s*** together now.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:13 AM) Time to take Mark out. He's pitched himself a really good game. His changeup was rocking and he's looked as good as he has in a while. I say get him out of this one knowing that he's done and has a good start under his belt. Turn this one over to Cotts/Politte and than maybe Jenks in the 9th. You could even just use Cotts for the 8th and Cliff for the 9th. I completely agree with you...but this is Ozzie we're talking about. Right or wrong, he loves to have his starters go as long as possible.
