  1. Here's the Kay/Juan Rivera story: In a recent Angels/Yankees game, Derek Jeter robbed Juan Rivera of a hit. For the next 3 innings, Kay talked about how it was sweet justice against the guy whole stole his stuff when he was on the Yankees. Kay went out of his way to bash Rivera. Here's the thing....it was Ruben Rivera that stole stuff from the Yankees locker room, and not Juan Rivera.
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 04:37 AM) Gload has just hit while he has been up here. It was frustrating for fans to watch Gload rake in AAA, while we barely could muster a few hits in some games. Its hard to look at his body of work in AAA and say that he didnt deserve a chance to help this team. He did...but now that he's up here, he should just focus on doing what he has to do in order to help the team. He knows he's going to be in a different organization after this season anyways. I don't know what he thought saying that stuff would do for his chances the rest of the season.
  3. I know Gload is frustrated, but the last thing we need is for a bench player to put himself above the team with a month left in the regular season. I have a feeling that it's stuff like this which is why he's never been a favorite of KW/Ozzie.
  4. Iguchi didn't play because he got stuck in traffic today, and showed up late.
  5. We also added "the light" in center field.
  6. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:45 AM) I disagree. The team was doing very well to start of the season, and that was during the period the many on the board had unofficially anointed him "dead." But it's not like our offense was performing well, even though we were winning games.
  7. Would you still be happy if the Tigers retaliate tomorrow, and PK gets a hand broken? I don't think we meant to hit him. If we did, that's classless.
  8. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:37 AM) Hermanson has to be healthy. Otherwise he should not be near the field in a 9 run game. SB I like it. He hasn't gotten a lot of work recently. The only thing worse than an injured pitcher is an injured pitcher who's rusty.
  9. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) Dye was still on the team when Pods left and we weren't scoring. Pods returns and we are scoring...it's like hes a voodoo doll and the team needs him in the lineup to be good. Dye is BETTER when Pods is in the lineup, on base or not...he just makes everyone feel all warm and fuzzy. Dye was also struggling when we weren't scoring. We were scoring plenty of runs tonight with Pods having no significant offensive contribution before his last double.
  10. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:30 AM) Ok, now...is it just me, or is Podsednik officially the MVP and spark plug of this team? Pods returns, we score 5, 6, and what...5 runs, then Oz benches him yesterday and we are back to scoring a whopping 2 runs...put him back in today, and what do ya know...12 runs. Stop fu!@#$@ benching Pods...thank you. Rant over. I disagree. The most important hitter on the Sox is Jermaine Dye. When he's slumping, our offense sucks. When he's swinging the bat well, our offense looks much better.
  11. Haha, very funny comment by DJ about "the light".
  12. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) This si great. Great momentum. Everybody wants to hit. Yep, and it's not bloopers, etc. Almost everyone is hitting the ball with authority.
  13. David Sanders time?
  14. May I suggest removing Pods from the game though?
  15. What in the hell is this? I have a feeling the bandwagon will be full tonight!
  16. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) ????? I was serious. 2 hits, and some very good defense.
  17. Great job Iguchi!!! Man, it's nice to see a nice little swing like that instead of swinging for the fences.
  18. GOOD GAME WILLIE!!
  19. Lets get one of these runs in, and let Hermanson rest another day.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:18 AM) Okay Uribe has hit the ball down the right field line twice tonight for doubles. If he starts doing that, holy s***. I love his new little leg kick. He's definitely staying back on the ball better.
  21. QUOTE(BamaDoc @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) Oz has had Contreras on the shortest leash of all five starters this season. Actually though, I would say that Garland is. Garcia's leash is bigger than Clifford the Big Red Dog.
  22. QUOTE(BamaDoc @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) Oz has had Contreras on the shortest leash of all five starters this season. As well he should be.
  23. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:06 AM) i stand by it Yeah, it wasn't bad considering Monroe had looked bad against him. Ozzie should remember this for future games though.
  24. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 02:05 AM) ...well, at least he's going after hitters. That's his 3rd start in a row without giving up a walk. That's a great stat!
