  1. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:34 AM) Cotts>Marte You know it, I know it, Sox fans know it.
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) He hasn't had much work lately. I know. I was more referring to about the last 30 games or so. He's been great though, no complaints overall.
  3. Marte is up, as is Hermanson. Where's Cotts and his 18 straight outings w/o allowing a run?
  4. Oh boy, here we go again. Cliff's fastball is just not the same lately.
  5. This won't be easy, will it? For the sake of my blood pressure, please don't let the tying run get to the plate.
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) Whether the Sox hold or or not...Buehrle Indeed. He stepped up in what was one of the biggest games of the year. Lets just hope we close this game out, and things will seem a lot brighter.
  7. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:20 AM) Considering we have a lot of games in a row, including 4 in a 3 day period next week. I think its a good idea to get your bullpen as much rest as possible. Unless you want Adkins to come in. Very true. It looks like Politte is warming up now.
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:18 AM) Lance Armstrong is just another asshole in a long line of assholes which is professional sports. Yes, it's great Armstrong can be an inspiration for other cancer survivors. However, I'll always remember this quote I heard by Boers and Bernstein about Armstrong "just cause you survive cancer, it doesn't make you a great guy".
  9. I thought I heard last night Indians have 5th best ERA in the AL. Westbrook has been surprisingly subpar this year, but C.C. seems to have got his s*** together now.
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:13 AM) Time to take Mark out. He's pitched himself a really good game. His changeup was rocking and he's looked as good as he has in a while. I say get him out of this one knowing that he's done and has a good start under his belt. Turn this one over to Cotts/Politte and than maybe Jenks in the 9th. You could even just use Cotts for the 8th and Cliff for the 9th. I completely agree with you...but this is Ozzie we're talking about. Right or wrong, he loves to have his starters go as long as possible.
  11. BTW, let me just say that I'm happy we didn't get J. Lugo. He's an absolute butcher in the field.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) Personally speaking I think the Sox offense looks to have awaken starting on that Sunday game vs the Yanks. Yesterday they didn't get runs and it got a little ugly late in the game, but they were hitting the ball hard for a good amount of time last night and the Twins were just flashing the leather. Today they have double digit hits and could have quite a few more. I like what I'm seeing a lot and I think we are going to see this team start winning series again. I like the swings I've been seeing from basically everyone but Rowand. PK is absolutely on every single pitch.
  13. QUOTE(S720 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:01 AM) What are you talking about "probably?" Tampa WILL win that game. Period! Take it easy. The last few weeks, they've been coming back from huge deficits late in the game. He was just being sarcastic.
  14. QUOTE(Gldfinger5 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:00 AM) Who would you guys say the slowest person in the majors is? Benji Molina? Yes. Him and LeCroy.
  15. I'd pay to see LeCroy and Redmond vs PK and AJP in a relay race.
  16. Wohoo!!! Great throw by Dye. Is that his first assist on a play at home this season?
  17. Where Would He Play? rant version 10 here.
  18. I hope Dye's playing down the RF line, cause Punto is late on everything.
  19. QUOTE(lukeman89 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) wow folks, this is are first solid ball game (so far at least) in like, the last 2 weeks. we are getting hit after hit after hit, and not scoring just by the long ball. granted these pitchers arent terrific, but we werent scoring at all against ANYBODY. this looks very good, this could be the beginnings of a nice winning streak, especially with jon going tomorrow. Lets just win
  20. Ugh, not the person to give up a hit to. Hold them to one run, and call it a good inning MB.
  21. QUOTE(Gldfinger5 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:49 AM) Is it just me, or is anybody else sick of hearing Hawk talk about last night's game? You would have had me agreeing with you...especially if you didn't add those last 4 words of the sentence. We haven't had any stretches tonight, have we?
  22. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:48 AM) That's been my point when I thought he should get out of the 2 hole, maybe even leadoff and have Pods bat second. Yep, especially when our 3-4 hitters have struggled to get runners in for a few months with less than 2 outs and someone on 3rd base.
  23. Iguchi is so much better at the plate when he just tries to drive the ball, instead of trying to move up runners. I could care less if he doesn't try to get the runner over the rest of the year. All that results in is worse hitting counts and potential Ks.
  24. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:45 AM) Tonight looks much more promising than the 6 run inning vs Randy Johnson!!! Agreed
