  1. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 12:16 AM) He's reading thru the conduct thread now, taking mental notes and figuring out how to get back at me. I just read that whole thing....and I actually agree with it. I think the personal attacks against players and posters is ridiculous. Also, as I said yesterday, all someone had to do was say that they didn't want the Ozzie/Timo "love" posts being made, and I would stop. Everyone knows it was a joke, but if it wasn't wanted on here, I completely understand. Hell, Timo's been busting his ass for this team lately.
  2. QUOTE(quickman @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 12:06 AM) Mackoviak was pulled back off waivers he couldn't come if he wanted to. Didn't know that, thanks.
  3. Rob Mackowiak time? That would be a great addition.
  4. Couple of quick thoughts from someone who only saw the 9th inning on TV: - our star pitchers really stepped up this week. Kudos to them. - Why in the world was Ozzie going to leave Crede in the game to bunt in the 10th with Iguchi and Ozuna on the bench? - That was a terrible call by the umpire....but PK has got to catch that ball. - Great game for Jenks to get the confidence he can close. With every passing game, Hermanson seems less and less confidence in his stuff. His slider is hanging high in the zone so often. - What did Cotts do to piss off Ozzie? He should be given more chances than Marte. Cotts is the best reliever in baseball the last few months. GREAT f***ING JOB WINNING THIS SERIES!
  5. Was that a play that Blum should have made? And yes, I think it's a joke how much we rest Iguchi. He keeps telling Ozzie how he loses his feel at the plate when he sits out.
  6. You want to know where Timo might get a lot of playing time when Pods gets back? CF against righties.
  7. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) Blum can't hit either. Last time I looked, Willie was hitting .233 at Charlotte. We lead the league in guys who can't hit. Blum has a chance to get a hit now....Crede's just clueless at the plate.
  8. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 06:33 PM) Our team can't hit for s***. Yeah, but I mean Crede and Uribe are really, really struggling to get hits. At this point, if we're going to rest Iguchi, I'd rather we call up Willie, put him at 2nd base, and put Blum at 3rd base.
  9. Our left side of the infield really can't hit for s*** now, can it?
  10. What happened on the single to the pitcher?
  11. QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) Wow. Crede hasn't had a hit since last monday, august 15? Yeah, and he was just tearing the cover off the ball before that.
  12. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 06:25 AM) Not sure if this is a good idea considering he got pounded there before, but i guess we have no other choice. He's by far our best option. The good thing is that even if we have to use a lot of the bullpen during the doubleheader, we can call up the legendary Baj the next day for bullpen help.
  13. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 06:22 AM) im i gettin a vibe that you think you are bmac, or am i just drunk and havent been on for so long that i have no understanding to what has been happening lately Um...he is!
  14. BTW, quick research shows that Griffey Jr. hasn't been back to face Seattle since the trade. If someone finds out otherwise, please correct me.
  15. QUOTE(GoSoxGo @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 05:52 AM) Wow. Didn't even think about that. That would definately be a pants-creamer. But the deadline is next Wednesday so any move could take another week. I know. I was going to say that my post before would probably cause more erection for Sox fans than the beautiful Bea Arthur.
  16. Just a thought: No one will accuse me of being a dreamer....but that would be f***ing insane if we traded for Griffey Jr. tomorrow, and his first game with the Sox is in Seattle. Has he played in Seattle since the trade?
  17. QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 05:43 AM) i think fathom knew that he was pointing out how a lot of people didnt know who Matt Smith is now he is the most famous name right now on Soxtalk Bingo
  18. QUOTE(GoSoxGo @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 05:39 AM) Blum was added as insurance at 3rd base because of Crede's bad back. Kenny saw like all of us that Ozuna is just not good at 3rd base. Blum was added to be a backup 3rd baseman and stick off the bench, not for Ozzie to worry about getting him playing time like Timo. He is a bench player. And Joe Crede is our starter. Trust me, if the organization disliked Crede, he would have been gone a long time ago. Crede will get every chance to prove to the Sox he should be brought back next season through arbitration.
  19. Who would have ever thought Matt Smith being outrighted to Charlotte would get so many pages?
  20. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 05:37 AM) What kind of players does Ozzie want? Useless players like Timo Perez who aren't good defensively, aren't versatile, aren't speedy, aren't good offensively, doesn't take pitches? YES!!!!
  21. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 05:34 AM) The versatility for a team with two guys who can play all over the field would benefit not hurt this team. In one week, we'll be able to call up some guys that will give us depth at many positions. Maybe earlier in the year Bellhorn would have made sense. However, I just don't think the timing is right for him. I still don't think he's the same player he was last year.
  22. QUOTE(GoSoxGo @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 05:31 AM) Since when does Blum have to get playing time? Afterall, he is a bench player. Since we traded for him. Everyone knew Bellhorn was going to be released, so if we really wanted him, we wouldn't have traded for Blum. I just think that Bellhorn isn't the type of player that Ozzie wants on this team.
  23. Well, back to the original topic, I don't see much of a reason to make this move unless there was a reason to free up a roster spot. Could it be for a transaction in the near future, or is it just a move to free up a spot to call someone up with September call-ups? Do we have anyone not on the 40 man who might get promoted?
  24. QUOTE(GoSoxGo @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 05:25 AM) Of course. I would too. But Bellhorn is a better offensive player than Blum. And there IS room for Bellhorn on our roster... 1.) Subtract Jon Adkins and Brian Anderson 2.) Add Scott Podsednik and Mark Bellhorn I don't mean no room on the roster. Rather, room in our rotation to play.
