  1. All 3 strikes to Nixon were on change-ups.
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:58 PM) Well, we've already established that you aren't a Sox fan. So why are you here? What happened with this guy?
  3. Anyone else think Iguchi dropped that ball? Considering the way he rolled over, and the ball was in his bare hand, I'm surprised the umpire didn't blow that call.
  4. I think either Granderson or Monroe just robbed Perralta of a sure homer.
  5. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:55 PM) Blum has 2 hits. Timo has a go ahead RBI. wtf No kidding.
  6. Is it too much to suggest Ozzie should get Cotts ready in the bullpen? With the 2-3-4 coming up, Cotts should be ready in case Nixon is up in a big spot.
  7. QUOTE(knightni @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:53 PM) Woo! Man on third, less than 2 out again. Nada. Like I said a few minutes ago, every insurance run counts against the Red Sox. I'd even suggest that Widger AB could be more critical than Pods getting picked off.
  8. QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) Widger sucks. If AJP needs rest, put in Cassanova. I dont want to watch this schmuck Widger play. A popup with a runner on third? How many times are we gonna screw up with a runner on third and less than two outs? Widger's had some huge hits for the team this year. Also, he's done a great job catching McCarthy in the last game and a half. It's just a little disturbing to see such a poor AB in a big spot.
  9. QUOTE(the southside tiger @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:51 PM) All he does is hit homers. MVP is Iguchi, by far. Shouldn't you be managing Ozzie?
  10. You had to know that after Widger's long AB last time, he was going to have a short AB. His batting average sure has fallen.
  11. Big run at 3rd. Every insurance run helps at this point.
  12. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Paul's bat must be melting in his hands...... Someone's in their free agent year stretch drive! Even if it results in him going to a different team after this season, at least he's contributing so much to this team.
  13. PK looks like he could get extra base hits at will against Schilling. I remember him blasting a homer against him last time we were here also.
  14. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) Not that most of us care what the national media think but this could be an eye-opening win for the national folks. Beating Schilling at Fenway, where they have been almost uneatable lately. As one of the main pessimists on this board, you should know that there's still a long way to go in this game.
  15. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Juan performing well is bitter sweet to me. I want him to do well for the sake of the team, but the better he performs, the more Kenny and Ozzie love him and the less likely we will go after Furcal. Unless, we went after Furcal and moved Uribe to 3b, which would be a logical move to me. I know others disagree w/me, but I wouldn't worry about Furcal. He's going to get a ton of money this offseason, and I can't see us getting into a bidding war with the Cubs for him. Considering his agent is Aramis Ramirez's agent, and they're close friends.....it leads me to believe that if the Braves don't bring him back, he'll be playing for the Cubs next year.
  16. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) Who cares. He's getting outs. he can throw 46 for all i care. For some reason, that just made me think of Jim Parque.
  17. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:37 PM) Is Brandon really only throwing 86 mph or is it the gun at Fenway? The gun seems a little slow to me.
  18. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:35 PM) hooray for juan uribe not looking like a little leaguer at the plate He'd have the biggest ass of a Little League player since Sean Burroughs.
  19. It looks like both Uribe and Harris have started using a leg kick at the plate. I always thought that Crede would be better off using a leg kick, and get away from the poor swings that have hurt him so far in his career.
  20. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) Can I quote you over and over on that? In regards to what?
  21. QUOTE(kman @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) when was the last time weve seen a squeeze? I think in the 2nd game of the Indians series after the ASB. Pretty sure it was Iguchi also.
  22. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) Juan starting to heat up.............. That leg kick is great. You can completely tell that he's seeing the ball better. He's also keeping his hands back so much better.
