  1. Trust me, I'm not a fan of Crede. However, after watching Ozuna the Butcher at 3rd base this week, I'm 100 pct more confident with Crede in the field.
  2. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 05:18 AM) Crede gets a hit how much more often than Bellhorn does? Maybe 1 more hit out of every 30 at bats? the White Sox aren't a small ball team right now, having base runners with a team that only produces runs by the way of the home run would be ideal. We got Geoff Blum to back-up 3rd base. Like it or not, there's no room for Bellhorn on this team. He's a butcher at 3rd base, so it's not really an option. I would take Blum over Bellhorn defensively at 3rd base in a second.
  3. I'm not ripping Ozzie for this, but if he had to choose between a good defensive 3rd baseman, or a below average defensive 3rd baseman who is very good at drawing walks....I think he'll take Crede every time. The last thing our team needs is another hitter in the .230s. Walks are good, but we need guys to step up and get a big hit.
  4. I'm through arguing Timo's position/use on the team. He's not going anywhere. Might as well root for him to be good, as I don't think he could do anything on the field that would get him released.
  5. Chicagosports.com is reporting that B. McCarthy will likely start one of the games of a doubleheader in Texas. Hopefully he does well, but I like the choice a lot more than Adkins, Munoz, or Diaz.
  6. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 05:04 AM) I'm not saying he's great, I mean as Kalapse pointed out he is compared to Jose Vizcaino. The fact of the matter is he's better than Timo in the outfield, Pablo at third, etc. and considering he's a guy who actually gets on base (what a concept) he would fit in with the White Sox. Bellhorn has less than 10 ABs while playing in the outfield in his entire MLB career.
  7. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 05:02 AM) False. They chanted "Pokey" for no other reason that he would come late in games in key situations after replacing him defensively with runners on base and he would promptly end the inning ala Mark Bellhorn of 2005. That's definitely not accurate. Last year, Bellhorn had a bad habit of just letting balls go right through his legs. Thus, Boston fans would start chanting Pokey after Bellhorn errors. My best friend's favorite player was Bellhorn, so I vividly remember when that happened.
  8. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 04:56 AM) Mark Bellhorn has been excellent at second base over the last two seasons. I must have missed his good defensive player. All I remember were the Red Sox fans chanting "Pokey, Pokey" early during the season cause Bellhorn was a butcher at 2nd base last season.
  9. Has anyone else on here ever pitched with a bad back? It's very hard to follow through, and the end result is balls hanging up in the zone. It looks almost impossible for Hermanson to keep anything down in the zone without completely overcompensating, and throwing it in the dirt.
  10. QUOTE(S720 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:45 AM) And if he got shelled, you're the first one to blame Ozzie. Jphat is one of the last people on this board to blame Ozzie.
  11. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:45 AM) Glad we got out of that one folks. Big game to win there with the Indians losing. At this point in the season, you take it however you can. For a second, I thought Timo would lose that in the lights, and Cuddyer could have a possible inside the parker.
  12. Lets DL Hermanson, and trade for Justin Speier. Of course, no clue who closer would be.
  13. Who would have ever thought before the year we'd be begging for Neal Cotts and Bobby Jenks? If nothing else, kudos to them!
  14. Hermanson has got to stop hanging every f***ing slider!!! He got away with one there.
  15. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:39 AM) When the game's 6-3, I don't see the point in bringing Marte in with nobody on base. A bullpen disaster ready to happen. Exactly
  16. Holy crap. Didn't take Hermanson long to keep a ball up in the zone. This is ridiculous.
  17. Please, I pray it doesn't happen. But a loss tonight might equate to the biggest Sox fans meltdown ever! Lets win this game
  18. I would have taken my chances with Cotts, and if they get 5 runs against arguably the best reliever in baseball lately....you tip your cap and they deserve to tie the game up.
  19. It's never easy against these guys, is it?
  20. And know Cotts gets ready in the pen? Mercy Ozzie. Just let Cotts go out there and get the job done like he's been doing for the last few months.
  21. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:34 AM) Please be the good Marte! He should only face one batter if Mauer gets on. The problem is we're playing right into their hands of bringing in Morneau to face Hermanson if they get two guys on base. Mauer's a huge out here. NO WALKS!
