  1. Pathetic! 2 out of 3 starts where Garland had nothing on the mound. I'm not worried yet, but he's probably going through a tired period right now.
  2. BTW, if anyone's watching the Indians game, how bad is the rain?
  3. How many two strike hits can we allow this series? I know these pitches have been close, but Garland is just laying it right in for some damn good hitters.
  4. If Manny gets a hit here, Hawk is going to go nuts. It might be high comedy.
  5. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) Just awful that Buerhle and Garland pitch bad, back-to-back, against the Red Sox. This Red Sox hitting will do it to you.
  6. As much as everyone dreads the A's....I'd much rather not have to face the Red Sox in the playoffs. We've shown no ability to slow their offense down, and their hitters seem awfully comfortable against our pitchers.
  7. Can Hawk go one game without trying to say how great the Sox are compared to other teams? It's almost like he's trying to convince himself that this team is better than the Yanks or Red Sox.
  8. If Pods misses a week or so like Everett did, we can't keep sticking Timo or Ozuna in the outfield. Combined with Dye being in a massive slump, our offense is going to struggle more.
  9. Hey Hawk....I'm sure Eric Chavez would have not been able to make that play!
  10. Haha, Crede! That was hillarious. He's been in slow motion for a few weeks.
  11. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) Ozuna=my most hated player by far Everyone that was calling for him to start earlier in the year is seeing why he's never been a MLB starter. Where's Jabroni now?
  12. Man, Ozuna just sucks right now. He's been awful for a while now.
  13. Any chance that Ozuna can actually hit a ball deep enough for a sac fly here? A slow chopper to 2nd base might be our best chance of scoring.
  14. 2 for last 28! Seems like we've had quite a few of those slumps lately.
  15. How bad is the rain in the Cleveland game?
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) Strained groin, gonna get a few days off. Oh boy, that means more Timo, doesn't it?
  17. Nice catch by Ozuna.....even if he made the play a lot harder than it should have been.
  18. Just got home....is Pods injured?
  19. FWIW, the Score's George Offman is reporting that Griffey Jr. cleared waivers.
  20. QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) From the Dayton newspaper: http://www.daytondailynews.com/spor...813griffey.html SFF Well, this is going to get everyone's hopes up. Unless the Reds ownership has a change of heart, it means nothing.
  21. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 04:10 AM) Fact is he isn't. He's a nice #2 if anything. He's not a true ace. I'm not saying the guy sucks, but he is overrated. No offense, but that's one of the most ridiculous things I've heard on this board. Buehrle might not have the stuff that some pitchers do, but he gives you as good a chance to win a start as almost anyone else. Only Santana and Halladay are better starters in the AL, in my opinion. Garland still has a few years to prove that this season isn't a fluke.
  22. Well, at least we'll have a high pick in the draft again. That always adds excitement to what will likely be an awful season.
  23. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 02:44 AM) Going through QB's team might be willing to trade Philip Rivers is the only good option i can see. P. Rivers for Baj, Borchard, and Ryan Sweeney?
  24. I'd much rather lose 9-8 than I would 3-2, etc. If our offense puts together ABs like they did tonight, we'll be just fine. I bet the Griffey Jr. thread has less posts tonight than it did all week during the NYY series. It's great to see Everett swinging the bat well off of the injury.
  25. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 02:17 AM) That's my point. Everyone has all but annointed Jenks as the closer, but he still has a lot to learn. These guys have a learning curve, you just can't assume this kid is ready. Exactly. Hermanson is having one of the better closing seasons in baseball history. Yet, everyone is so eager to push him aside and have Jenks close. FREE NEAL COTTS!
