QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2005 -> 07:16 PM) After reading some your other posts... it sure wasn't clear to me. Fair enough, my pessimism deserves to not be given the benefit of the doubt. I apologize then. -

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2005 -> 07:12 PM) That's just sad really. Obviously, some people can't take sarcasm. Anyways, remember what I said about Tampa scoring this inning after we squandered the chance? Our momentum from a great start is officially gone. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 11, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) Timo getting picked off likely didn't cost the White Sox any runs. With Konerko striking out, Dye would have had to get a hit to score anymore. Very unlikely. True, but that chances the whole dynamic of the AB for Konerko. It's sad though when we have so little confidence in our 4-5 hitters. -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 11, 2005 -> 07:08 PM) Cut him! It's only 1 mil, that's not too much in baseball terms. Damn it, I hate him. By the time we would release him (when Frank gets back), he would only be owed about 600-700K. As of now, I'm just rooting for a season-ending injury for Timo. -

Every non-Sox fan laughs at the organization for continuing to play Timo. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 11, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) Is there any reason why Timo should be kept over Gload or Harris? One good reason? No, there isn't. But since we know Timo is Ozzie's new boyfriend, I'm sure he's not going anywhere. -

Pathetic. Hell, we needed a massive break to even score a run after having the first two guys get on base. Any chance that Tampa doesn't get at least one run this inning? They've been answering every run we got this series with some of their own, it seems. -

Timo will do 2 or 3 things every game in which you just wish you never have to see him play another game for the White Sox. I hate him more than any player I can remember. -

Wow, that was a huge break right there. Rowand needs to get the job done here. No one run innings...we need 2 or 3 here. -

Very nice AB by Ozuna there. I have a feeling Ozzie will try and get creative with Timo here. -

QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ May 11, 2005 -> 06:45 PM) AJP has thrown out 7 of 30, I know that catching for Freddy, Contreras, and Hernandez doesn't help him at all, but 7 of 30? That's like 23%, that's awful A.J. rarely has a chance with those guys on the mound. My biggest concern with A.J. is simply catching the ball. He seems to have a hard time catching the ball sometimes, and it's hurt us in a few games. However, this is clearly our best catching tandem in a long, long, long time. -

QUOTE(mreye @ May 11, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) Why? This lineup can't win? Why watch? Why are you reading the play by play here if you already know the outcome? Of course this lineup can win....but it's a case of a manager having absolutely no clue how to adjust a lineup when he doesn't have regulars in the game. Under no circumstance should Timo Perez ever be leading off or batting 5th. I don't care if he hits 4 homers today, that's not a good managerial decision. -

The question I have is that Dye was a late replacement for Everett in the DH spot. Why not let Widger DH today? He's been one of our best hitters lately. I know Ozzie has gone with some stupid lineups in the 3rd game of the series this year, but that was when we had won the first two games of the series. Getting swept by Tampa wouldn't exactly be good for this team's psyche. -

QUOTE(mreye @ May 11, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) I should go back and count the optimistic posts since the first pitch. As someone said earlier, the optimism was thrown out the window when we saw what our lineup was today. -

Every single player seems to be swinging out of their ass. Greg Walker has to be held responsible for the s*** that's happening with a lot of our hitters. Simply a terrible approach by way too many players. -

DJ asking for the baseball gods to start helping us out? In all honesty, I think the baseball gods have been more than helpful this season. Seems like we have got a lot of breaks so far this year. -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 11, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) Can Ozzie crack walker in the back of the head and tell him to stop teaching the dip the back shoulder and elevate. This flyball to the track crap didnt work last year when we had thumpers on the team. Exactly. As I was saying last night, just look at how Dye takes pitches. He has terrible form at the plate right now. He needs to get his lower body into the swing. -

Konerko and Dye are hitless in the Tampa series so far, and the only hits Everett had were two infield hits. -

Dye's so off-balanced at the plate that he can't even capitalize on hanging curves. That's about 5 times in this series he had to swing all arms at a great pitch to hit.
