QUOTE(Y2HH @ May 11, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) Everyone, I believe this deserves a collective thank you to Hermanson! This is all we have to do: Still have another inning to go. No reason to jinx him right now. -

That way this series has been going, I thought that was a liner into the outfield for Hollins. -

QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ May 11, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) I don't like this move. Marte looked good, he got bunt singled, and would have been a DP ball if the runner wasnt in motion Huff's single was up the middle. The only reason it was close to being an out was because the runner was in motion. Marte left his fastball out right over the plate. -

Ozzie couldn't just leave well enough alone I guess. I can't criticize him for bringing in Marte to face two lefties, but leaving in Politte wouldn't have been a terrible decision. -

And that's why Cliff deserves the role of being our righty set-up man if Hermanson is our closer. -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 11, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) Does anyone not hate him? I really, really do hate that guy. Why not Anderson? Why not even Giambi? He always has a high OBP. There's a few people on this board who think he's worthy of a roster spot and the amount of playing time he receives. That's fine though, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. -

QUOTE(Y2HH @ May 11, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) I think it has more to do with Viz not pitching enough yet...he will get that speed back, but since he pitches once every 10 days his strength isn't returning. Last year, Vizcaino was throwing 95 mph and used a pretty nasty splitter in the games I saw him against the Cubs. Now, all he's throwing is that slider with an occasional 91-92 mph fastball (which he's had no control over). -

Great job Cliff! By far the best fastball on our team. -

Good job Cliff. Need to get Sanchez out here though. -

Here's the problem I have with Ozzie, so that people don't complain about me using hindsight: Charles Johnson lacks bat speed now, and can't catch up to fastballs. On the other hand, A. Gonzalez destroys a good fastball. However, Ozzie brings in Politte, a fastball pitcher, for Gonzalez instead of Johnson. I just disagree with it. Hopefully Cliff will do the job. -

Yep, Politte should have been brought in after the 4 pitch walk to Singleton. Instead, Ozzie waits for the tying run to get up to bat. Not only that, Alex Gonzalez is a dead fastball hitter....so he brings in Politte. That's stupid managing. -

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 11, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) We get the point. Timo sucks. Is that for me or Ozzie? Until Timo stops making stupid mistakes in seemingly every game he plays in, there will be a lot of people on here b****ing about him. -

QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 11, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) El Duque is at 85 pitches. This better be his last at bat since we need to keep him injury free Give Botch, Vizcaino and Walker the 7/8/9 unless hell breaks loose in one of them It's still a 4 run game. Tampa has made similar leads disappear quickly already this series. El Duque has been cruising lately....I'm sure he'll start the next inning. -

QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 11, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) Even if Frank gets healthy we better upgrade one other position offensively. I would have to say 3B if Crede shows his earlier streak was a fluke Sorry, but Crede's not going anywhere. He's cheap, plays good defensive, and is hitting near .300 right now. He's one of the last players on our team I think deserves to be in hot water (even though I'm sick of the weak pop ups he hits). -

The thing is, what does Timo have to do in order to lose his spot on our roster? He's having a terrible season all around. -

QUOTE(T R U @ May 11, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) unreal it seems like every time I see the Sox get the bases loaded they never get anything out of it From my viewpoint, it's because people try to hit a grand slam instead of just trying to hit a sac fly or hit a liner somewhere. Timo had some good pitches to hit there, but he swung out of his ass......again. -

Well.....that's a great way to keep them in the game. Pathetic at-bat by our supposed 1-2-3 hitters in the order. -

Timo has been up 3 times this season in which he simply needed to make contact, and he has failed each time. He's a piece of s***. -

Uribe should have been tagging there. That's just a terrible AB by Iguchi, and terrible baserunning. -

Ozuna just seems to always do the right thing out there. He also seems much faster to me than Willie Harris. -

I'd like to officially say that Keith Foulke is done with. He just blew another game for the Red Sox. His ERA is 7 now, and his fastball is in the 85mph range. Reminds me of someone else I know. -

QUOTE(quickman @ May 11, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) So true fathom, our attitude changes with the inning ..the batter. its normal stuff for passionate fans Thing is, the Sox could win 20 games in a row, but if we then lost a game in which we should have won, but there were dumb decisions made by the players or manager, then I'm going to be negative about the game. If we clinch the AL Central with a month left to go, I promise you won't hear a single negative word out of my mouth (unless Ozzie overuses the pitchers).
