  1. Great job by Contreras today.
  2. I feel like the main difference in this game will be the fact that Zambrano was able to hold our runners on, and Contreras was unable to. Hopefully we'll hit a 3 run homer so it doesn't matter.
  3. Wrigley Field is such a piece of s***. Absolute terrible infield.
  4. Hold the f***ing runners Contreras!
  5. Another great AB by AJP. He's really swinging the bat well right now. You can tell he wants to kick the s*** out of Zambrano.
  6. You can cancel the postgame.
  7. Every single Sox hitter besides Harris and AJP looks like absolute s*** today.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 21, 2005 -> 06:42 PM) Ok thats a HUGE DP Now Dusty will have to either PH for Zam or lead him off Excellent point
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 21, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) Anyone notice that Everett still looks awful at the plate? He's just throwing the bat at the ball and missing every single time...by a lot. He has no reason to be in this game. For the last 3 weeks, he's swung and missed an incredible amount of times. The only time he's made contact with a pitch, it seems like it's a lazy fly to LF. I'm simply shocked by Ozzie playing him for a red-hot Dye right now.
  10. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 21, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) Guillen should have Willie drop a bunt next inning. He might get on base, and Zambo will be pissed off enough to throw at someone. Personally, I'd rather have Willie continue to work the pitcher like he has been, and be a tough out. We all know Willie is a bad bunter, so no reason to possibly make an easy out on one pitch or so.
  11. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 21, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) It's because he didn't swing, because, well he can't swing. Would you prefer nobody swing the rest of the game? Well, since we have no hits today, and guys are chasing anything within a 3 foot radius of home plate.....maybe it would be a good plan You know very well I was just making a statement about how ironic it is that Contreras, the same person that Ozzie said was a pathetic hitter, was able to reach.
  12. 81 pitches for Zambrano. If we work him next inning, Dusty will have a tough decision to make.
  13. We're taking strikes, and swinging at balls. Seems like everyone but Willie is back to being way too easy of an out. It seems like all you have to do against Sox hitters is get two strikes on them, and if you throw an offspeed pitch, they'll strike out.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 21, 2005 -> 06:33 PM) Suddenly the outside corner has gotten a lot bigger since they gave the warnings.. Zambrano is definitely taking advantage of a very large zone today. The AB by Konerko last inning was controlled by the large zone of the ump.
  15. I would have rather had Pods leading off the next inning. It's sad though when Contreras works the count better than everyone but our 1-2 hitters.
  16. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ May 21, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) There is no reason to ever come in on Crede. He can't hit anything outside. Exactly. Most of his solid hits this year came on inside fastballs that he kept his hands in. A pitch on the outside corner usually results in a weak pop up for Crede.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 21, 2005 -> 06:29 PM) Wow Uribe that was god awful. As much as I like Uribe, it's safe to say he's in one of his bad streaks right now.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 21, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) Did you see how Carl charged the ball? He looked like a little leaguer. Keep in mind Nefi had gotten a little shaken up on the last play. For the life of me, I'll never understand why people think Everett should play in the outfield. He's without a doubt the worst outfielder in the majors. Congrats to Everett though for catching his first ball of the season.
  19. I'd just like to give a big "f*** you" to Ozzie for playing Everett today. Dye likely would not have thrown out Perez at home, but at least he would have had a shot. Everett is so awful at the plate right now. I don't understand the logic of benching a player who is swinging well for the first time all season for someone who is swinging worse than anyone else in the majors right now.
  20. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 21, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) I think Ozzie geared the lineup more toward speed to mess with Zambrano's head. Willie is faster than Iguchi and Everett is a bit faster than Dye. True, but that's a stupid decision then by Ozzie. The combination of Zambrano and Blanco will be almost impossible to steal on. Zambrano has a very quick delivery, and Blanco has a cannon behind the plate. If we lose today....fine. But I really hope it's not cause Everett botches some plays in the outfield. I'll be pissed then.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ May 21, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) I'm having waves of panic thinking about Crazy in the OF, he will either; 1. Botch a crucial fly ball 2. injure himself 3. Injure someone else also, Willie is at 2nd batting in the 2 spot today There's not a reason in the world that Everett should be playing today. Dye has been much better recently, and everyone in baseball knows he's someone that is always very streaky. Meanwhile, Everett has been simply awful at the plate for the better part of a month now. Also, this isn't taking into account that Everett is the worst outfielder in the majors. We better hope Contreras strikes out about 12 guys today.
  22. Tribune is saying the wind will be blowing out to right field. I really hope Everett isn't playing tomorrow. Dye is swinging the bat much better than Everett is right now, and there's no reason to put our defense at such a disadvantage.
  23. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 20, 2005 -> 05:36 PM) Agreed, and he's not pitching at the Cell. Freddy should have a good game. If he doesn't, he has no excuses because the conditions are all in his favor. This game will show us what type of stuff Garcia has left. There's no excuses for him not to have a successful outing. Also, we can steal against Maddux easily, but Blanco behind the plate will make it a little more difficult than if Barrett was starting.
  24. Anyone think it's weird that we have a lefty pitcher for batting practice? Maybe it's to get the players used to the movement on Maddux's pitches.
  25. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ May 20, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) They just said on the score Carl Everett will be out in RF for tommorows game. Ozzie doens't want him getting stale on the bench. Todays game it appears to be Dye out in RF. Anybody got the starting lineups yet? My first reaction to reading this... "ah f***".
