Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
DABearSoX replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in 2006 Season in Review
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) If we lose this one, it's going to really suck. This loss could be terrible to go into the break having been swept by a playoff team at home when you had a chance to come back in the last game to salvage something. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 03:35 PM) As far as naming Maggs, maybe the sensitivity training worked. PR move

The first game of the series did anyone hear the guy that yelled "ED FARMER YOU SUCK" around like the 8th inning......I was watching on the Pitt brodcast on extra innings so maybe not.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) You guys should see what this looks like to somebody who hasn't read Harry Potter at all. It's a bunch of gibberish. /snape kills dumbledore? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) Labatts 50-50's MMMMM I forgot about those.....

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 02:38 AM) I went in 1995 and have been dreaming about getting back there! But my office mate is moving to Denver (left today as a matter of fact), so now I have a place to stay for GABF!! Hey, I can't remember, do the Sox play NL West next year for interleague?? If so, then the Denver road trip is as good as done. They played the NL west last year, and at Coors, so the next time we play the Rockies it will be at home

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 02:25 AM) Have you been to Detroit its similar to Chicago, one side is nicer than the other. He said that metro detroit is similar to naperville and i completely agree. Anyways, the Tigers are not going away, they can hit very well and they always have. I still dont think guys like Robertson and Maroth can keep it up all season but thats because I dont want them to, personally as a sox fan making the playoffs is a win in my book. It makes no difference in the playoffs if you are a division winner or wild card team, its a new season. Records dont carry over. Although i do forsee us passing Detroit. BTW Detroit faced a crappy pitcher for Houston today and we wrecked their bullpen last night really making them go the distance, not a surprising win. Yea I have been there, I used to goto school in Kalamazoo so we would make plenty of trips east. Most of my friends were from the West Bloomfield/farmington hills area.......They showed me around detroit Coney Island Hot Dogs was thier highlight to show me...oh and the few blocks around the stadiums....Sorry I misunderstood the term Metro Detroit.....

Natty Light hands down the worst beer.....I think I drank in for 2 months straight my freshman year in college.....will never touch it ever again Average Priced: Miller Lite mmmmm my favorite Good s***: Bell's Oberon, Fat Tire, This crazy rasberry beer I got in Tucosn when I was down there for spring training.....forgot what brewery it was but I know it was local. If anyone wants to goto beer heaven come out to Denver this fall for the "Great American Beerfest" just imagine 4 straight hours of power hour with 1,200 different types of beer

QUOTE(Hurons @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 01:36 AM) Just like the South Side. All cities have their despair. Metro Detroit is great. Think Naperville with lakes. BTW Rodney has struck out all 4 batters he has faced. Wow........Comparing Detroit to Naperthrill??? You'd have to go accross the river to match the murder rate though.....
-
Joe for 4 no more
-
I gotta go with gooch.....just for the fact in was 7 RBIs in 2 consecutive innings to overcome that big of a deficit...
-
For all the games I have been to I don't think I have ever had any experience with them......Back in the day when I could get my 6 dollar monday/tuesday ticket and go down to box I don't think there was any of the red shirts to bother me. Recently I only encounter them when they scan my ticket or look at it so I can get on the lower deck.
-
If Gooch could have walked it off when he had the chance now that would have been history...... When he got up to the plate I thought for sure he was gonna do it again....

QUOTE(chiguy79 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 08:26 PM) Leaving Vazquez in too long didn't help either. 2-Run homer on an 0-2 pitch, then a 4-pitch walk, then a 2-rn homer, a great series of pitches... Circumstantial evidence is not permissible......
-
QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 05:34 PM) ozzie just had to get Uribe in the game so Miller could pronounce his name oooooh-ribe Miller is such a dumbass...... "Here comes Ozzie Smith to the mound oops i mean ozzie smith oops I mean Guillen, he has been in the news latley because of his dirty mouth......Tadda Taguchi is coming up to bat.....Tadda Guchi to Juan OOOORIBE and thats out number 3" He must need speech class, or Joe Morgan needs to stop rubbing his thigh during the brodcast.....
-
QUOTE(zygoat @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) it wasnt necessarily ozzie who brought them back into the game, it was more of what ozzie has been teaching the last 2 years. That's what I am trying to get at.....is there another manager that instills that no guts no glory attitude like that.....most other teams would have been done with that game in the 8th......the only other manager I see like that is maybe Jim Leyland
-
Its nice to see the real faithful isn't it?
-
Its a yes or no question so there will be no poll.... Is there another manager in the MLB that could have had as much as an influence on a 9-1 deficit? I'd like to add, I believe its the only game thats been replayed that i have looked foward too (minus postseason)

Thread for people who left the game early tonight!
DABearSoX replied to Chisoxrd5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:30 AM) That was almost as bad as when I left the Bears-Browns game early back in 2001 I was at that game and I stayed.......(included I was at the week before against the 49ers)....those 2 games taught me.....NEVER EVER LEAVE.......its alright if you left tonight....even before the game I chalked us up for a loss....we were due......but that was the most exciting and most satisfying loss I have ever seen.......and the one thing I love is that it was on national TV.... -
Has anyone seen a more satisfying game that we lost......if you have please enlighten me....I am talkin about pre 1980's.....I guess the only game i can compare it to is the Paully (slump breaker) HR and the HURT walk off against MN......maybe there was something in the fernandez/one dog years but the college years have made me forget....and the BO conference winner doesnt count......that wasn't before the allstar break
-
All I can say is ..........oh well............i wrote off the game.......then.....................but oh well.... sox have
