17 YO Arnold Prado hitting .362 as a RF in DSL. Not sure if pedigree or not but pretty good for that age.(higher BA than Chapelli lol)

If you want to just get in the playoffs, we could have traded our only chips for something mediocre and snuck into the playoffs. But this team is going no where while its "best" players aren't hitting (Lynn and Gio aren't pitching either) and are also playing apathetic and stupid baseball. With apologies to Diekman, we did nothing. The players were just told "you don't deserve to be helped". Maybe this is the moment like in Major League (youngsters it's a great baseball comedy movie check it out ) where the players get pissed off and start playing baseball. The players should be pissed off but they need to hear it from somebody even if it wasn't said directly. You couldn't sell being three out but the way these guys are playing sucks. I was excited two-three years ago and now I get pissed off nightly. During a championship season you normally are pretty healthy or at least healthy for the playoffs and several guys have career years. No hitter is having a career year and pitching wise Cease is fulfilling his potential and Cueto drank from the fountain of youth. I will hope for the players to win and play better. I have stuck with this damn organization since the 70's. Play better, win, and at least raise your trade value for the off season.

Our guys have moved onto the list with their performance which is encouraging. Our young pitchers from last few drafts really struggled their first couple years though they seem to be improving. Not enough depth but I could see 3-4 of this years draft in our top 15 which will probably be needed post deadline.

With the way Jerry is loyal, Jose is only traded if HE wants to go to a contender. In that scenario, I would imagine a handshake agreement that he would be signed in the offseason. There is a team who has lost a bat, I believe for the year, who could use a first baseman and mid order bat............the Astros. Since Benitendi brought two 45 value prospects and a third player lets see.....#6 MLB prospect 45 FV AAA Peter Solomon who is a 25yo RHP possibly better as multi inning reliever. #13 40 FV Jaime Melendez 20 yo RHP in AA. ERA over five but young and in 66IP has 95k. At 5' 8" probable reliever and a better third piece perhaps as a wild card give me FV 40 18 yo OF #27 Luis Baez in DSL

The top two players the Yankees' traded at MLB.com have FV45 ratings and having solid years. The Sox prospects with 45 FV ratings are #7-15 for reference. That was for a two month rental. I think Royals did well.

I just don't see any of these options(short of Soto) make me think we would be better than Houston or the Yankees who will also add at the deadline. You aren't winning a championship with Moncada, Grandal, Pollock, and Eloy way below expectations (or needs) and Crochet, Bummer, and Robert are injured. Yet at three games back it is hard to sell. I find them unwatchable/unlikeable a lot of times with shitty defense and poor fundamentals. I guess I would just let them ride it out and hope for internal improvement. They probably grab a lefty reliever. I would hate to give up anything meaningful just to lose early in playoffs. They can do that with what they have.
