I hate to add that we are at the higher end of our payroll and they will need some of these guys to come through while some of the longer term contracts escalate. I wouldn't be surprised to see some off season trades that change bodies but also probably drop salaries.

I think we can legitimately have three top 100 prospects at year end which will all be earned, not based on draft status. That would be a huge win for our system since we had zero starting the year. Mena and Vera also have to have generated some positive buzz.

Will add it in on Mondays. Margalus had a video clip of Mena pointing at his shoulder and at least he didn't seem in obvious pain. Hopefully a little rest. He noted he is approaching 100 innings and has about doubled last years innings so might see his load reduced a bit if all is ok.

Interesting of the recent draftees, our first rounder is below our second and third picks. I guess it is because of the risk of high school pitchers but considering Pallette is recovering from TJ and Cannon's ceiling is supposedly mid rotation, I am a bit surprised. Disappointed the high school arms have fallen so much though Thompson and Kelley doing better of late.

I just noticed Anderson Comas is pitching for the ACL team. No longer outfield.

Trade rumors has a story about how to gain players post deadline. They mentioned independent leagues. Tyler Webb is in one. Decent at one point. Not sure what took him out but I don't think he can be worse than some of our AA-AAA junk we have been trotting out lately in bullpen games. Might be worth a flier and no acquisition cost. Not trying to be any kind of conspiracy theorist but he has never seemed right post Covid. I wonder if he isn't going to be one of the long term effect people. It would be interesting to know if there are definite differences in his performance data that we don't get but hopefully are being measured such as reaction times, acceleration rates, bat speeds. We can see only bigger picture things like BA, SO , HR. I still remember him in 2020 playoffs looking like he was going to cry after going first to home. I guess I would rather that than him not caring though not sure which might be easier to fix if either is issue.
