  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 10:46 AM) You can get them at ESPN.com, just go to the team stats and sort by position. The issue with them is...they're including everyone who has played SS, including people who have sucked as replacements/bench players. Of course, this does appear to be a down season for SS stats as of now, but here's a different way to look at Alexei's bat so far: Alexei Ramirez has an OPS 20 points lower than Yuniesky Betancourt. ESPN tends to have some inaccurate stats, especially splits. Stick with baseballreference.com
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) Really? His UZR is far and away the highest of any SS in the league (6.3 compared to the 3.8 of Scutaro).
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 10:25 PM) Now Prince almost gets impaled. One of these days, someone is literally going to get a bat stuck in their body. They need to fix this quickly. But they won't till it happens. 2 outs. Rick Helling was literally impaled by a broken bat a few years back.
  4. Wow, broken bat liner back up the middle snagged by Axford out of the air and doubles up the runner at 2B. You don't see bad luck like that for the Twins very often.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 09:54 PM) First time over .500 since Opening Day. Twins and Tigers both down a bit. If we win tomorrow it'll be the first time we've been 2 games over .500 in 304 days. 63-61 on August 23rd, 2009.
  6. GREAT start to the homestand. Really hard not to love John Danks.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 09:46 PM) Amazing that you have two guys in a major league bullpen that you can't use late when you're up 5 or more runs. That's the sucky thing about winning streaks: no opportunities to use your gas cans, they're really only useful when we're down 5+ runs.
  8. REALLY sucks that we're forced to use Jenks in a game that we led by 6 runs at one point.
  9. And now it's a f***ing save situation.
  10. Up by 6; this is where Tony gives up his runs.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 09:05 PM) He's slow, but I love him. It's tough for me to find him endearing when hear him say things that are blatantly false and I know a great deal of Sox fans are taking it as gospel.
  12. Hawk really has no f***ing clue how to judge a right fielder defensively. He said the same bulls*** about Dye as recently as last season when it was apparent to EVERYONE that he could no longer play the position.
  13. It's just real nice to enjoy White Sox baseball again. Even if this all amounts to nothing in the end at least we're getting some highly entertaining baseball out of this, it's a nice change of pace from their previous 3 or 4 months of play.
  14. Hawk doesn't even try to read the outfielder. When he's standing still with his glove up at the front of the track you can probably quit yelling "stretch".
  15. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 08:36 PM) Thats a good question to which i have no definitive answer but I'll guess yea it would be an out since he's in possession of the ball. I'd say the opposite. He doesn't really have control of the ball, it's just stuck in his shirt. You have to be on COMPLETE control of the ball when you tag the base, having he ball rolling around in your shirt does not count.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 08:30 PM) And how many players have their been in the game like Omar Vizquel? Not many.
  17. HA! it seems like every ball we hit is ticketed for a base hit.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 08:21 PM) I agree Omar is not going to play every day, but I don't think he's as delicate as some of us might think... If he gets to 300 PA it will be the first time in the history of the game that an infielder reached that mark in his age 43 season or later.
  19. This is pretty f***ing awesome. GREAT to see Carlos just turn it loose to left field, if he wants to get good at baseball again I won't complain.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 08:23 PM) And no one is disputing that but you about an hour ago in the case of Hanson. That's been my whole argument. Sometimes good pitchers have off days and that's what we saw today.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 08:20 PM) Verlander has gotten rocked in that game. Sometimes good pitchers just don't have it and you see a great AL starter get beat up by an NL lineup.
  22. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 08:17 PM) Is Vizquel our starting third baseman the rest of year? I LOVE Omar but that's not going to happen. 1.) he probably can't handle the work load or anywhere close 2.) this hot streak will eventually end and he'll go back to being an awful everyday player with the bat For now though, he needs to be in the lineup every day.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 08:14 PM) I heard the other day that scouts thought he had the best slider in baseball It's right up there, he typically throws it about 30% of the time. It's definitely his go to pitch.
