QUOTE (greg775 @ May 9, 2008 -> 09:59 PM) I haven't been able to watch a lot, no. So I'll trust you guys on Swish. I just wish for once somebody we acquire would excel from the start. Carlos Quentin? Mike MacDougal was awesome for the Sox after being acquired in July of '06.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 9, 2008 -> 09:56 PM) So you've got 1 example from what, 15 years ago? Damn. Swisher will bust out. Yes. Dye was in this kind of funk early in 05 and went on to receive some nice hardware at the end of the year. Sax was also 33 year old with 13 seasons under his belt when he broke down, Swisher is 27 with 3.5 years of wear on his tires.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 9, 2008 -> 09:53 PM) Are you convinced Swish will bust out? Steve Sax never did. Should the Yankees cut Robinson Cano? Should the Rockies cut their losses and trade away the now injured Troy Tulowitzki? Should the Phillies trade away Ryan Howard for a couple garbage prospects? f*** no! It's 1 month of s***ty play, lets not get carried away here.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 9, 2008 -> 09:51 PM) It's Anderson time. Seriously. Quentin, Anderson, Dye should be our OF. Trade Swish for prospects. Or play Swisher until he busts out of this funk and enjoy the riches that an .840+ OPS CF brings to a ballclub.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 9, 2008 -> 09:45 PM) It's the golden locks... I think it's his winning smile and abnormally strong Achilles tendons.
-
Brian Anderson is a machine sent from the future to play baseball at an incredibly high level, look sexy as all hell while doing it and eventually destroy all man kind with his potent seed.
-
Brian is a f***ing pleasure to watch out there in CF. I don't give a s*** what Ozzie thinks of him, he's alright in my book.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 9, 2008 -> 08:34 PM) Nice D so far this inning, Crede and BA save runs. Crede just flatout dropped that chopper, he's lucky he was able to recover and throw out Beltre at home because that's the kind of play every 3B needs to make.
-
So who are the 4 people that voted for Crede?
-
QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 9, 2008 -> 02:42 AM) I would of had Jenks as a pitcher's choice, but I choose Carlos & Javy. I left him off since it was late and I was getting sick of typing up numbers, I also didn't expect anyone to vote for him since he wasn't exactly dominant. I'll add him for the sake of equality.

It's been a strange season thus far. A lot of big names under .775. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 9, 2008 -> 03:15 PM) Sexson could well appeal. Sexson will play in the series. At least according to the Seattle Post Intelligencer. http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/basebal...ives/138565.asp

QUOTE (letsgoarow @ May 9, 2008 -> 03:12 PM) It seems like everything is shaping up for a sox sweep. Everything is falling into place. No bedard, no washburn, no sexson!~ Washburn will pitch tomorrow unless something changed that I don't know about. The Sox will miss King Felix though which is bad news for Brian Anderson.
-
QUOTE (Wanne @ May 9, 2008 -> 03:09 PM) NO SEXSON Either! NEW YORK -- Seattle slugger Richie Sexson was suspended for six games and fined Friday by Major League Baseball after charging the mound and throwing his helmet at a Texas pitcher the previous night. I'm sure he'll appeal and play in the series.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 9, 2008 -> 02:26 PM) Oh, just a note, but in the world series season the Dodgers played the Sox in Chicago (one of the games, the Sox came back on Brazoban in the 9th with the Sox winning in walk-off fashion with an AJP double). That was a great series, I remember it well. Garcia shut them down in the first game the Sox won like 6-0. The Brazoban game was great, down 2 in the ninth, Rowand ended up tying the game with a basehit back through the box then AJ ended it with a walkoff bomb to left center. I believe Rowand had the go ahead hit in the eight inning of the 3rd game as well.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 9, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) Is that supposed to be an actual question? rhetorical
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 9, 2008 -> 01:57 PM) Eric Byrnes might be the most overrated player in baseball. I'm not sold on the DBacks offense, as they seem like they'll struggle against good righty pitching. Eric Byrnes or Carlos Quentin, who ya got?

Now hitting .343 and 6/6 stolen bases [in 35 ABs]
Kalapse replied to stretchstretch's topic in The Diamond Club
10 ABs later and he's hitting .267 -
Keep in mind; you're voting on who was the best player for the month of April. Gavin's near no hitter vs MIN doesn't count, same goes for the excellent outings Javy and Danks had in Toronto.
-
QUOTE (farmteam @ May 8, 2008 -> 11:38 PM) What use would the Reds have for Thome? Or Konerko seeing as how they have Votto. And I doubt Greg would like Dunn very much, he's a pure true outcome player similar to Thome. (though Jim hits for a higher average)

Not a rumor, just Steve Phillips spreading his ignorance. The fact that this man carries the title of "expert" makes me sick. http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?id=3385066

What say you, Soxtalk?

After going 0-4 w/ BB, SB tonight, Jerry Owens in 90 AAA ABs this season is hitting .256/.343/.333/.676 w/ 1 HR, 4 2B, 17:12 K:BB and 9/12 in SB.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 7, 2008 -> 10:42 PM) So it took all of 28 career games for you to deem DeWitt as good or better defensively than Joe Crede? Are you talking just for this season? You have to come with a little more when making a crazy claim like that. The way Crede has been been playing at 3B this year.

Hawk was at his absolute worst tonight, apparently Livan Hernandez is Sandy Koufax reincarnated. I understand he's a homer and all but give me a f***ing break all he's doing is adding salt to the wound.
