  1. McCarthy was unable to pitch around an error early in the game, the runs may not have been earned but McCarthy was thoroughly unimpressive today.
  2. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 05:11 PM) I see. So last year everybody b****ed that Ozzie left his starters in too long when it was clear they didn't have it. Today, he lifts a guy who gave up 5 runs, 7 hits and 4 walks in 5 innings and it was the wrong move? Man, that Ozzie Guillen is just a bad, bad manager. I also had no problem with him pulling Garland, it seemed like the right move at the time. I question him handing Pods a job, allowing him to face Fultz (ridiculous) and the non-moves defensively late in the game. Outside of that, I don't have many problems with him today.
  3. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 05:12 PM) no, I'd actually argue that pitching wise, Ozzie made all the right moves today. Offensively it was questionable, but that happens. I still don't understand why he didn't make defensive substitutions late in the game. He had Erstad and Podsednik in the OF in the 7th and 8th inning. Just craziness.
  4. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 05:07 PM) So what other upgrades were out there. As Kenny Williams would say: Names, people? Erstad, Anderson and Mackowiak are all better players than Podsednik. Ozuna, Mackowiak, Iguchi and Erstad are all better leadoff hitters. I think Podsednik swung the bat a total of 3 times today.
  5. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 05:06 PM) Uribe was 2/4 Monday, 0/3 today. You're already whining about an upgrade? Pods was bad today. Can you atleast give him a week before you start crying that we should've signed Pierre or Gary Matthews Jr.? So in just 5 more days Podsednik is going to regain his speed? Super. The guy is slow and appears to be done.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:50 PM) The Indians offense will be better this year than it was last year, and our pitching is massively overrated. Positive games for Aardsma and Erstad though.....160 more games left in the Pods era. 0-4 with a caught stealing..stay hot! Offensively? Yes, he looked great out there. Defensively? I was incredibly disappointed, he getting poor reads on balls hit at him and that play in the 8th was completely inexcusable, he shouldn't have been playing CF at the time and I'm honestly not all that enthused about watching him play 120+ more games out there. If he can keep up this offensive production though, I won't mind seeing him in the lineup daily. Pods should just be DFA'd. Good riddance.
  7. He just caught the ball with his back against the wall. I'm pretty sure any outfielder on this team makes that play, am I missing something here? He shouldn't even have been in the game.
  8. I'm confused as to the currently defensive personnel in the outfield.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 04:14 PM) Ozuna is in @ short, Molina is in catching. And the criticism of Ozzie is not deserved?
  10. So any defensive replacements? Comcast? Please?
  11. So what does Podsednik do well again? Anything? Anything at all?
  12. That was such a disappointing play on so many levels. It seemed like everything was building up to that. Wow.
  13. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 03:50 PM) BA would have made the right choice... It doesn't even matter. Erstad is supposed to be the ultimate ballplayer, the vet who's done it all and he's making just ridiculously stupid plays out there. He shouldn't even be playing CF right now.
  14. Why the f*** is Erstad even in CF? Shouldn't he be in left and Pods in a shower somewhere?
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 03:46 PM) I like Crede, but I can't recall a single clutch hit he had after May last year. Dye was the s*** though in clutch situations. That's because Dye is a great situation hitter with excellent plate discipline, Crede on the other hand is not.
  16. Remember when I said I'd rather have Dye up in a clutch situation than Crede? That's why.
  17. I really like this version of Darin Erstad, he needs to keep this up.
  18. Sizemore is not home grown either. He was a 3rd round draft pick of the Expos whom they acquired in the Colon deal with Cliff Lee.
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 03:24 PM) If Ozzie has any sense, if we have a lead in the ninth, BA will be in center with Ersty in left. I still think we're going to be seeing Erstad in CF and Anderson in LF a lot this year. Erstad has a GG and is the veteran afterall.
  20. So I assume Fultz will remain in the game to quickly retire the rest of the fearsome threesome.
  21. WTF was the point of that? Does Ozzie even know he's allowed to pinch hit in the 6th?
  22. WOW. This is a major f***up by Guillen right here.
