  1. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) inning over hitting, as in getting hits, not hitting as in just making contact and getting out well he was batting 267 this month.... Hitting as in his batting average over the past 30 days is somewhere around .260.
  2. Brian Anderson is f***ing great, seriously. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) BA starting to hit finally He's been hitting for the past month.
  3. Jim Thome has a 1.531 OPS this season Vs finesse pitchers.
  4. Jim Thome has a 1.247 OPS vs P, 2nd time in G, he has a 1.297 OPS vs P, 3rd time in G.
  5. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 07:50 PM) We all bag on Widge, but that was just s*** location by Mark. It's fun distorting reality to prove your point.
  6. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 07:48 PM) look where his glove was on that dinger -- right in his wheel house instead of down. Mark throws it at the glove. Bulls***, the glove is clearly setup outside. Not you're just making s*** up.
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 07:47 PM) The numbers don't lie. His CERA is not good. I understand that but it's f***ing retarded to blame him for anything that happened in the first, Buehlre missed his spots badly.
  8. The ball Ortiz hit out was put middle in and at the belt, it was called for low and away. yep, good to see Widger forcing Buehrle to miss his spots.
  9. QUOTE(SoxPhan7 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) I heard somewhere (I dont know where) that Vernon wells was going to start in place of Manny. I dont know why he would start in place of JD but that was the rumor I heard. Ichiro, Vlad and Manny were the selected players, that's 2 RFs and a LF, no CF. Wells is probably the 2nd best defensive CF in the American League and is having a great season. It only makes sense to have a CF start the game if you have the choice, this way you don't have to play anyone out of position.
  10. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) Widge in teh lineup tonight :headshake But so is Ozuna!!
  11. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 12:55 PM) Pronk currently has 4 IIRC, so Crede might have to beat whatever mark he puts up too. Make that 5. Hafner does it again today.
  12. QUOTE(soxunited @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 06:23 PM) Why should I? I am a Red Sox fan first and I have a lot of respect for what Theo has done for the Red Sox organization since he arrived. On the other hand, I also really enjoy baseball in general. In turn, I have a great deal of respect for what the White Sox have done over the past 5/6 years. So, I do enjoy reading what the fans of the White Sox have to say. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't recall ever reading that fans of others teams couldn't post here and must have White Sox only avatars. I haven't disrespected anyone here, nor do I plan to. BTW I am not a "he". Ouch, check out RedandWhite's avatar.
  13. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 05:38 PM) Your signature is awful. It's called blasphemy.
  14. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 12:14 PM) I believe there was something fishy going on with Mark's last start. Cmon, 7 straight hits on first pitches. Here comes the Red Cubs, they have to go out and buy new jerseys for this series. It's not hard to hit an 86 MPH fastball that's placed right down the heart of the plate for you.
  15. FUN FACT: The Astros are incapable of winning a home playoff game if the Minute Maid roof is open.
  16. His walkoff tonight was a thing of beauty. Classic Frank right down to the cleared hips and line shot into the left centerfield stands, though in his hayday Frank probably would have hit that ball to dead left.
  17. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 12:15 AM) Compared to the past, yeah. He wasn't 3-0 or 3-1 on every hitter in the lineup. God, he only allowed 5 hits and 1 walk. People make it sound like he allowed 9 runs again... I took the liberty of breaking down the outing pitch by pitch, you can take away from it whatever you want. Pitch by Pitch Breakdown 1.) 18. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 10:45 PM) I REALLY cant wait to face the Tigers again. July 18th can't come any sooner.
  19. 1.) Why the hell would Sammy Sosa be talking to a Korean newspaper in the first place? 2.) Luis Matos is a pretty solid baseball player, the guy had a damn good 2003, is only 27 years old and can play all 3 OF positions. He wouldn't be a bad pickup, a change of scenery could do him well.
  20. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 05:58 PM) As bad as Ortiz has been, he's 10-0 the last 3 years in July. I still think the Sox are going to hammer him tonight. That is incredibly misleading, he didn't even pitch in July last year. He was 10-0 in July as a Brave.
  21. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 06:11 PM) Since the game has such significance for the Sox if they return to the series, I kind of was hoping Liriano would get it. He's lights out and Oz could use that kind of pitching. Then again, I voted several times for AJ. Schizo. Liriano would not have played if he made the team I can gaurantee you that.
  22. I'm just glad my gaurantee turned out to be right.
  23. That's just domination right there. How could one pathetic fanbase take on the entire nation and come away victorious?
  24. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 05:37 PM) We really deserve some credit for this one. We really showed up the rest of the country. EVERYONE hates AJ, and we still managed to band together and get his ass into the ASG. So true, this is a monumental victory.
