QUOTE(rangercal @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) If I were voting C- B. Molina 1B-Darin Erstad 2B- Orlando Hudson SS- Juan Castro 3B- Eric Chavez OF- Ichiro OF- Vernon Wells OF- Mark Kotsay s***, you're right Erstad will win 1B, for some reason I forgot about him. Juan Castro played 97 games this year, that is not deserving of a GG.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) Cause he hits under .250, that's why I personally don't like the guy that much. This brings up the "Exactly how important is batting average" or "What exactly is batting average." debates.

AJ, Jermaine and Ozzie are supposed to be on Leno tonight. Someone is supposed to be on Letterman next week.

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) I'd still say you're screwing yourself. Tex's road splits are awful, Ichiro is not a middle of the order bat, and Dunn --while probably the best of the bunch-- isn't worthy of a playoff tested ace because of his high strikeout numbers. I might move him for someone like Michael Young (premium position) or Chad Tracy (really cheap). You're also leaving the last two rotation spots to McCarthy and Duque. Duque is a virtual lock to get injured at some point, meaning you need to come up with a good 6th starter (whoever it is likely won't be as good as McCarthy was this season). McCarthy has never pitched 200 MLB innings. All three of your other starters were in the top 10 in IP, and one of them is coming of a career year. Seems a little risky. I'll never understand why people are so down on Dunn. I don't give a s*** if he strikes out 170 times as long as he hits 40/100 walks 100 times with a .920+ OPS

NBC has extremely strict rules when it comes to their copyrighted material. It's probably not the best idea. -

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) is it really lowballing because he would get his money. What if he were to earn around the same as this year. And than the contract escalates for the next three years. I don't think you understand the concept of backloading. If Konerko were to have a contract similar to what you speak of it could potentially f*** the Sox when it comes time to hand out new contracts to their starting pitchers. '06 - $6M '07 - $14.5M (Cotts hits Arbitration) '08 - $15.5M (FAs: Garcia, Buehrle, Iguchi)(Jenks hits Arb.) '09 - $17M (FAs: Uribe, Garland/AJ/Crede[if the recieve 3yr deals with no option years]) '10 - $17M Other than the fact that Konerko would never accept such a deal, the Sox can't afford to be paying a player such a high salary around this time.

QUOTE(DePloderer @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) Come now, you don't realy believe I used a healing brush here do you? If I was going to make an effect like that, a healing brush is exactly what I'd use. Of course I never really made a conscious effort to expand my Photoshop knowledge so there may be an easier or more effective way of going about this.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) Awesome wall but am I the only one who see's "JENKS" everywhere??? That's what a healing brush does.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 11:06 PM) Carr is one of the several guys out there that are not running dirty programs. How the f*** do you know that? -
QUOTE(HineyBird @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) it looks like your in college buddy. I'm just joking if I have said anything offensive. If you want to boot me fine. I can still read the stuff and if i want just register on another email with fake info. I'm sorry if I have upset anyone but its the internet relax. thats what is great about the US freedom of speech if I get kicked off for telling someone to relax or calling a women a carpet muncher then you guys should rename this site communist talk.com. There is no freedom of speech on privately owned and maintained internet message boards.

I'd say the Trib book is the best. I don't have much time right now to run through all of them but the Trib book is a collection of 120 pictures from throughout the year and stories that accompany them.

Went to Barnes and Nobel and bought them all on Sunday.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) How about a guy who fell off the radar? Erubial Durazo... (though admitedly, I don't know anything about his health status) -- I'd bring him in along with Frank. As long as you're willing to live with the fact that he plays 0 defense. Durazo could be a decent offensive addition, assuming he's totally back from his Tommy John Surgery.

QUOTE(joeynach @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Garcia is going to make 9 mil this year not 10 and contreras is going to make 8 mil in 2006. You're right about Garcia but Contreras will make $6M this year after you factor in the $2M that the Yankees sent us in the trade.

QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Talk about not investing in "aging" performers aka Konerko. People are worried his stats will start to decline when he's 32-33. Giles is ALREADY 34. He'll be 35 in January. C'mon ppls, he's not worth $10 mil at this point. I'm not saying he's not going to get it, but he's not worth it especially from the Sox. What has Brian Giles done over the past few seasons to convince anyone that he'll suddenly drop off in production. The man has been a model of consistancy and has atleast 2 very good years left in him. A guy who can put up a 1.000 OPS is most definetly worthy of $10M a year.
-
Brian Giles will more than likely not even make it to November 12th. Kevin Towers is hell-bent on keeping him in San Diego and has already reportedly offered a 3yr/$30M deal. No way the Sox offer him anything near that.

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) Not to mention he's having surgery and might not even be able to play anymore. ^^ Exactly, there's not much value there.
