NL All-Star Weekly Update...
Miguel Cabrera really does deserve to be in there over Beltran. Ramon Hernandez should be the starting catcher. I still feel Barmes should win at SS and then have the backup start the game for him.

AL All-Star Update....
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) Here's a question for you guys... Tino Martinez clearly doesn't deserve to be an All Star, and is only leading the balloting because of the New York fan base and that 1 string he had back a few months ago. If Teixiera does manage to pass him...who do you guys rank as the 2nd best 1b in the AL? I certainly dont' think it's Millar. Francona of course could do the Torre thing and pick half of his team, but I think that if Teixeira does pass Tino, Paulie ends up in the AS Game. I think the obvious choice for 1st base backup is PK. His power numbers are higher than any other 1st baseman other than Teixiera. He has the Highest OBP of any 1st baseman with atleast 161 ABs other than Ibanez and PK has a higher OPS than any other firstbaseman other than Teixiera. PK should be an All-Star this season. Anyone who thinks PK isn't an All-Star just take a look at the stats and then plead your case.

Crede on Block?
QUOTE(Benson&Rexage @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) I'd rather have Joe Rogan than Joe Randa. Keep Crede or package him in a deal for Chavez or Miller but not straight up for an old guy who has been a career utility player. Crede should get consideration for a gold glove this year You crazy Joe Rogan I'ma tell you something you may not know about me Joe Rogan I smoke rocks- Tyrone Biggums Mueller WTF, that couldn't be further from the truth.

No Lockout for NBA
QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 12:36 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2091539 It also looks like the age limit will be 19...i think thats cool cause if we had this before we would see what college teams kobe, garnett or lebron would have gone to. Yeah, for one season, the age limit, though it is only a start is too young. It should be atleast 20 years old inorder to account for 2 years of college for most athletes. I don't know what good 1 year in college is going to do but atleast it's a start. Good ot see them avoiding a lockout, it seemed enevitable that they would make a deal. They don't want to f*** up like hockey.

If.... When Frank gets into the hall of fame...
WHEN he is voted into the HOF I will be there for the ceremony, I gaurentee that. I will find a way to fly out to Cooperstown. I've watched this guy play my entire life, he's been my favorite ball player for as long as I can remember and that moment when he is recognized for his accomplishments I will be there to share in the moment.

Does Anyone Know
I know the Sox will be: Garcia Contreras McCarthy/Garland. I don't even think the Cubs themselves know who's going to pitch for them. Prior might start though I know that.

I had the ultimate color combination for High School: Black and Gold. It just looked so good no matter what the colors were on.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 03:23 AM) Welcome. We've been allowing a little more craziness in the game threads, but it probably should be throttled back a little bit. Feel free to cheer on the Twins unless they get closer than 5 games, then STFU Loven the club Tex. Very exclusive.

6/21/05 Game Thread CWS vs KC
- music
The new Transplants CD is out today. I personally got it last week and have been listening to it non-stop for the past several days and I can honestly say that it kicks major ass. This album seems to have a lot more Rob Aston rapping and less Ska. Also they have incorporated a little R&B into a few tracks which is an unbelievable mix. Tim Armstron's voice is as odd as ever and dominates the music.- Neal Cotts
3 Threads have already been merged into one on this topic. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35293 And now, so has this one.- WHITE SOX ALL STARS?
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 12:36 AM) I agree Kalapse. Outside chance for Podz but outfields usually get crowded fast. Is there an outside chance that we sneak everett in based on pedigree? I know that few of us would pick him ot go but maybe he gets in on rep the wasy Loaiza did last year. Just wondering. If we have the best record in baseball then they HAVE to give us 3 I think. I hadn't even thought of that. If they are going to carry a second DH, Everett could be a possibility. He's put up some great numbers so far this season and does have a reputation throughout the league. After looking at the numbers, David Ortiz is the obvious starter at DH but behind him is Carl Everett and Travis Hafner. Hafner has a giant OBP compared to Carl and 1 more homerun. Everett has 9 more RBIs but is batting 16 points lower than Hafner. If they do carry a 2nd DH, it could be a toss up between Hafner and Everett.- I'm a New Guy
QUOTE(56789 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) I meant in this situation it does not make you a bad person cause he wasn't going to kill himself, if he was serious then yes you should try and do some s*** about it but since he's not you just want him to leave you alone. This is the last I'm going to say on this subject. Get back to the guys first thread. - music
