School Colors

Featured Replies

I was telling my kids that *my* High School had one of the all-time best color combinations, blue and maize (gold), while their mother's high school had the second worse imaginable, brown and white. I'm thinking brown and yellow would be the worse.

Theirs are pretty solid also, blue & white which we my college colors and purple and gold, which despite the Laker influence is pretty good also.

Thoughts? Any worse colors than brown and white?

Pink and Purple?

We had the Blue and White colors at my private high school as well. Socks pulled up in the summer, ties worn in the winter. But once you got to be a senior, you got to wear special blazers and white shirts instead of grey. Here's an example of the blazer I found;

Some of the colors our opposing schools wore though were purple and white, red and blue, green and white, and red and white.

Our's were Cardinal Red (More maroon, though) and Columbia Blue (Like UNC blue)

Brown has to be the worst. Garth Brooks has a song that talks about a town being real boring:

Nobody gets off in this town

Trains don't even slow down

My high school sweetheart's married and gone

They met on a bus to San Antone

The Greyhound stops! Somebody gets on

But nobody gets off in this town

Nobody gets off in this town

Old folks 'round here wear a frown

Now let me see if I can set the scene

It's a one-dog town and he's old and mean

There's one stop light but it's always green

Nobody gets off in this town

Nobody gets off in this town

High school colors are brown

They can't drag Main because it kicks up dust

Their cars and their dreams are all starting to rust

The high school dances are always a bust

Nobody gets off in this town

Nobody gets off in this town

They oughta just tear it down

Cause in the winter you freeze and in the summer you fry

Utility bill's the only thing that gets high

I'd go for a drink but this county is dry

Nobody gets off

Nobody gets off

Nobody gets off in this square old merry-go-round

No, nobody gets off in this town

high school: blue and orange (ick)

college: black and gold (I liked that a lot)

grad school: no clue, green and something I think....

I had gold and blue for my HS colors.

College - not sure, I think it is red, while and blue if the logo uses the school colors.

We don't have to wear uniforms here at my high school. :headbang

Well... Yeah... of course they have to wear uniforms. :P :D

High school: green and white

College: cream and crimson

The ABSOLUTE worst colors are Virginia Techs colors...purple and orange. Second worst are Western Michigan's colors...brown and yellow. Ick.

High School: Purple and White

College: Orange and Blue

HS: Red and White

College: Blue and Gold (sometimes Green ;) )

I had the ultimate color combination for High School: Black and Gold. It just looked so good no matter what the colors were on.

In grammar school we wore horrible polyester yellow shirts and brown pants. Just awful.

Grade school: navy blue and gold

Jr high: purple and gold (later changed to match high school colors)

High school: Orange and black

I really didn't mind the orange and black since a lot of the time the dominant color was black and the orange was used for trim.

We actually have to schools in the same district that have red and black. I think the worst ones around are either purple and yellow or green and gold...

High School: Cardinal Red and Canary yellow (batavia bulldogs)

College:Maroon and White (SIU Salukis rule!)

High school was a bit brutal, they didnt really know how to make the colors go together well until my senior season when they put alot of grey into the uniforms and made yellow more of a background color.

High School: The good ole famous Orange and Maroon.

Yeah, I have to agree w/ you there. Black and gold look pretty sweet, as well as Black and Blue.

My high school colors, however, are Purple and Gold.

Here's an example of our lacrosse jerseys:
