QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 2, 2017 -> 12:05 PM) Insightful as always. I know....................So glad they lost Groce time at Illinois should be over a week from Monday. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 3, 2017 -> 03:34 PM) Connor McKnightVerified account @C1McKnight 1h1 hour ago Connor McKnight Retweeted Donald Parham Moncada won't be rushed. Hahn said so again this morning. There's video in the article. http://www.wlsam.com/2017/03/03/brett-lawrie-set-to-be-released/ …://http://www.wlsam.com/2017/03/03/bre...-be-released/ …://http://www.wlsam.com/2017/03/03/bre...-be-released/ … I am glad too hear it, If he plays at AAA all year I am fine with the plan.

Sox got tired of playing games with Lawrie.

Update: Luis Robert has been cleared according to Rosenthal

Spend whole pool money on LR and not table scraps with no chance of ever making it to MLB. Sox need a splash especially in the rebuild mode, he can grow in minors with other guys. -
Pats are willing to trade Garoppolo A league source told the Cleveland Plain Dealer the Patriots are willing to trade Jimmy Garoppolo "if the offer is right." This disputes a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter. "Everything is still on the table," a source told the Plain Dealer. It's notable that this would appear in a Cleveland paper, as the Patriots would likely be willing to do business with a quarterback-needy team they don't see as a threat. The Browns check both of those boxes and have the ammunition to satisfy New England's demands. The Plain Dealer thinks the Patriots "will want a first-round pick and more." Source: Cleveland Plain Dealer That did not take long to dispute.

Groce needs to go no matter what. -
QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Feb 28, 2017 -> 08:47 PM) Can't imagine the Hawks could have the cap room left.. and after the Oduya deal can't see them still going for him. https://www.hockeyfeed.com/nhl-news/massive...hara?ref=justin Getting Oduya back probably ends that talk.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 28, 2017 -> 03:30 PM) If people freak out about a guy who is 20 pitching in an early spring training game, they are nuts. No one expects Kopech to be even close to the big league roster at this point. If anything, I'd think people should be excited that he flashed some plus curves and obviously demonstrated that his velocity is real. Amen too that

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 28, 2017 -> 03:26 PM) At the very least I want to see them stay in the minors long enough to give us the extra full year of control. Yep no need to rush in 2017 on any of the new prospects.
-
Alvarez would be a worthless signing in 2017.
-
Surprised letting AJ go with all the cap space and Eddie Royal will be cut soon. It will be interesting to see the plan at WR.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 26, 2017 -> 04:10 PM) Eddy Alvarez with a bases loaded double to put the Sox up 6-1, Yoan scores from first. Go YM

QUOTE (WBWSF @ Feb 25, 2017 -> 08:50 AM) I still think that this so called rebuild is as phony as a $3 bill. I think JR is going to trade off and not sign any real talent the team has. He will have the lowest payroll in MLB in 2018. He will then sell the team after the 2018 season. I'm hoping he'll sell the team before the 2018 season, but I think he will wait until after the season is over. This team has absolutely no positive direction. I've read where the most talented player coming out of Cuba is a 19 year old outfielder named Luis Robert. Virtually every team in MLB wants to sign him. The White Sox are probably the only team who have shown no interest in signing him. The farm system is barren of any every day outfielders. Robert would be a good signing for the team and yet they have no interest in signing him. After Cabrera leaves the White Sox after this season the White Sox will probably have the worse outfield in 2018 in MLB. Wouldn't Robert be a perfect fit for this team? I hope he sells soon it's been a long time coming.

I know it is JR call, but surprised MB number is being retired.

Look in the mirror JR the rebuild is on you!

Nationals manager Dusty Baker indicated Tuesday that the club is likely to trade Derek Norris after reaching an agreement with free agent catcher Matt Wieters. Baker said "there's always someone looking for a front line catcher." The Nationals apparently didn't feel secure enough with Norris as their primary backstop, but the feeling is that he'll end up playing elsewhere in 2017 rather than serve as Wieters' backup. The 28-year-old batted just .186/.255/.328 last season, but he's capable of better and he's owed just $4.2 million in 2017. He could draw some interest in the days ahead. Source: Chelsea Janes on Twitter Pass on Norris...............Sox are not desperate to trade DR.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Feb 21, 2017 -> 10:51 AM) It's pretty clear the Sox are much more inclined to get three or four notable guys as opposed to one big fish and maybe another guy or two that are notable. I am not sure it's the worst plan but the results aren't that promising. Doing it this way 1 out of 20 may pan out.

QUOTE (OnlyGillis @ Feb 15, 2017 -> 04:43 PM) How is it pronounced and which syllable is accented? YOL-mer ? yol-MER ? yol-MARE ? Can Hawk get it right before July? Come opening day I do not think Hawk will have to worry about it.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 14, 2017 -> 05:10 PM) The Jericho/KO segment was the best wrestling segment in years. So amazing on every level. Very reminiscent of one of the most famous Attitude Era segments, This is your Life. And of course you had the HBK/Jannetty call back too. Best segment in 5 years IMO. -
So Nats want Sox to pay most of DRob salary and give up nothing back on top of it yeah ok . Sox do not have to dump salary

Teams have upped their offers in Q derby in the last week
Soxfest replied to Al Lopez's Ghost's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Eventually someone is going to pay the price for Q. Hahn holding out for best deal in a rebuild no matter If it is July is fine by me. -
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 10, 2017 -> 10:44 AM) I'm not a Bears fan but I like the Tyrod Taylor idea for them. Makes a lot of sense to me. As a Bills fan as well as a Bears fan pass on Taylor.
