QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 06:03 PM) First pitch delayed 10 mins due to Pedro Martinez ceremony. Expected this. Looks like more than 10 minutes to me.

Blue Jays interested in Quintana or Samardjiza

QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 04:07 PM) Not really, because in your scenario they either 1) Re-sign him with the leverage of the comp pick or 2) Receive aforementioned comp pick. Maybe not as sexy as getting top prospects right now but not terrible either way. Comp pick is a total crapshoot not that great a value to me just to hang on to Shark. -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 03:56 PM) FWIW, Heyman, Rosenthal, Bowden and O'Dowd just got done discussing Shark, none think he'll be traded, not with the recent surge. Losing 7 out of 10 in August and Sox will kick themselves in the ass for holding on to Shark. We just lost 5 of 6 last home stand when playing good teams. -
Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com hears from a source who believes the Rockies are more likely to trade Carlos Gonzalez over the winter as opposed to this week. We're not so sure about that, as Gonzalez has been red-hot this month. Given his injury history, this could be the perfect time for the Rockies to get aggressive. The 29-year-old is still owed $37 million from 2016-2017. Source: Jerry Crasnick on Twitter

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 02:20 PM) Finnegan and Manaea were the Royals top 2 pitching prospects. Russell and Zimmer ranked ahead of Manaea.

Goodell said 4 days ago he was not aware of any appeal by Bell yet rules on it today what a liar. The NFL has reduced Le'Veon Bell's suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy from three games to two. That sound you hear is Bell racing back to the top of draft boards. Including the Steelers' bye, Bell is still ticketed to miss 23 percent of the fantasy regular season, but he's a dual-threat difference maker who provides a weekly edge in all formats of fantasy. That's especially true in PPR leagues, where Bell is a no-brainer at No. 1 overall. Bell is the goal-line back and primary checkdown target for an offense that wants to score 30 points per game this season. DeAngelo Williams will get the start in Weeks 1 and 2, where Pittsburgh is facing New England and San Francisco. Source: Jarrett Bell on Twitter

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 01:48 PM) Hasn't history shown that deadline deals rarely pay off? KC did get Cueto and Zobrist, probably about as good as they can do, at the cost of 5 arms. If they don't win the WS, they pretty much shot their wad. After losing game 7 year, I do not blame them for going for it.

NFL upholds Tom Brady 4 game suspension...............I am sure he will sue now. The league has upheld Tom Brady's four-game suspension. After a summer of waffling, commissioner Roger Goodell has decided to hold firm on Brady's shockingly-severe punishment. It means the matter is now headed to federal court, where Brady will sue the league. Brady will reportedly "seek an injunction that will allow him to play while his case works its way through the courts." Buried in the league's statement was confirmation that Brady destroyed his cellphone. Reading the reports, "Deflategate" sometimes comes across as a matter of national security instead of the silly sports controversy that it is. As it stands right now, Jimmy Garoppolo will be starting against the Steelers, Bills, Jaguars and Cowboys. Source: Mike Garafolo on Twitter

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:36 AM) Are they getting desperate? I think they will overpay for a pitcher whether its Shark or Ross from SD. Hoping Shark obviously so we can plug in EJ, but I really think we can land one of Norris/Pompey for Shark if Toronto gets desperate enough. I have to figure EJ is in Boston just in case. Unless he is called up I do not believe Sox can do that.
-
QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:28 AM) Yeah the Santiago-Eaton trade worked out fairly well for both teams. Hopefully the Jays give in and trade for Shark before the game. Who wants to take bets on it? I think he'll still be here. Shark will start tonight getting too late too get EJ in town.
-
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 09:10 AM) This really tempers my excitement about dealing with the Jays. Reid-Foley and Pentecost are still there, but would the Jays really unload that many good prospects in the same week? The smaller their supply, the less likely they would be to agree to overpay, which is what it may take to pry Shark on a surging Sox club. I agree the Jays without Hoffman not that attractive now.
-
QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 09:36 AM) Maybe Larry King actually got a tip from someone in the Dodger's upper management. I strongly believe that the White Sox and Dodgers will make a blockbuster deal soon. I think the moving parts will be more than just Puig and Quintana, but those will be the main pieces in this deal. Even if we can't get Seager (sigh!), I would LOVE to acquire Austin Barnes as well. I much prefer a Dodger deal now that Hoffman was traded by Jays.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 04:41 AM) I know how to make our champion look strong! Have him tap out to the weakest looking submission move ever on live free TV!!!! SuperCena at all cost. -
Hoffman being in Tulo deal is a bummer.
-
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:33 AM) Dodgers are trying to trade Guerrero, any interest? Guerrero has a clause in his contract that says he can become a free agent at the end of the season if he's traded. Pass
-
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:21 AM) Shark for Hoffman straight up would be a great trade for the Sox. I just have a gut feeling Hoffman is key to a Shark deal. I would love it to go down.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:17 AM) Exactly. What's the point of being GM if you're not the one in charge. It's an empty title. Ever heard the phrase too many cooks spoil the broth ? It has and still is the KW show. I have said Hahn has never really been allowed to do his job
-
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:12 AM) If that's the case , Hahn may resign out of frustration if he can't implement his own ideas on effecting changes. Every move Hahn wants to make he has to clear through KW it would get old fast.
-
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:09 AM) Toronto might have given up the prospects the Sox wanted in the Tulo trade. Don't know who the minor leaguers are yet . True should be interesting who Colorado got.
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:09 AM) I don't want to deal Quintana because I don't trust that Kenny would get the right return for him. I have no faith in KW as a talent evaluator
