Pierre might be the most scrutanized .260 hitter and rightfully so. This guys has been terrible in clutch situations so far. -

CANNOT strike out with the bases loaded like that. It'd be great to get at least 2 out of this. -
Your favorite defensive play since 2000
WilliamTell replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It'd be fun to do an off season poll on the top 25 favorite defensive plays for us fans. Trouble being some might not have videos available for it. I can't really decide what I wanted to vote for so I chose the fans dumping beer/water/whatever else on the Tigers in April of 2000. I feel those two brawls in that game set the tone for the rest of that season. Man did we have an awesome offense. Plus I didn't think it'd get many votes haha. -

we'll take that! -
If we're going to go all in we might as well fire Southpaw as well. He's been doing a terrible job at getting the fans into the game. I don't care how much we're down at home, he needs to step it up and get this team some pep in their step by pumping the fans up. Might as well just throw in the towel unless Southpaw starts contributing. BRUTAL!!!!!

We were 7-4 a week ago and most people were angry that we weren't 9-2 or 10-1. Couldn't have even fathomed losing 7 in a row but it's happened.

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:06 PM) Mariners just took a 3-1 lead against KC....yay!! lol I never thought I'd see a KC update unless they were playing the Twins or Tigers. -
happy birthday!

That was an interesting read about the Twins and how the fans are reacting Caufield. But the Twins have had numerous slow starts to start the year. Then they kick it into gear after the All-Star break. Is it going to be that way this year? Who knows but we all have to assume that the Twins will right their ship and get rolling eventually and it could be soon.

Damon walk off single for the Rays.

Wow what a thread! Felix I don't think you're a troll.

It's so frustrating hearing about what takes place in the 8th inning and beyond. I'm almost glad I can't witness it on TV. Our bullpen has almost giving up as many earned runs and more runs total than our starting rotation in less than half the innings pitched. My stats could be wrong, probably are somewhere they are, and I'm sure it's possible to find these stats online. But I'm just so frustrated I decided to do it myself. I have our starting rotation at 78.2 innings pitched with 3.08 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP. 3.08 ERA for a starting rotation is very good. I would gladly take that all year even though I know it probably won't happen. The bullpen however, can only seem to get better. We'd all expect and hope it would anyway. In 36.2 inning pitched, they have a 6.14 ERA and a 1.72 WHIP. Basically a doubled ERA for the bullpen is without question the biggest problem on this team. How do we fix it? Do we hope things will just level off? I guess I don't know of any possible trade options this early in the season. I have a crazy idea which I wouldn't want to try but I think it'd be interesting just to have 8 or so starters pitch. Have 5 such as Peavy, Buehrle, Jackson, Danks, Floyd go when Peavy becomes healthy. And have Sale, Humber, and another starting do long term relief from the 6th or 7th on. I saw someone mention this idea in another thead as well, certainly interesting. Come on relief pitching you have to do better! I have doubts on Thornton being the closer. How long is this going to last if it keeps going bad? The guy can't even convert a save, and I know it's not all his fault. 6 unearned runs so far while he's pitching. Something has to change, and it has to changed soon.

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 12, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) Lexi looks a little nonchalant and full of himself in the field right now. Ozzie will need to do a late inning defensive replacement with Omar to motivate his ass, if he doesn't shape up soon. Think Omar can play left field?

Chris Widger. Why? No real reason. Mainly because I haven't seen his name around these parts in a while. Have to get his name on the site again. -
