QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 09:38 PM) Why the heck wouldn't you let Dayan hit and then PH Q for Beckham? Why didnt Q hit for Andruw an inning before. Oh wait, thats because the magic 8 ball didnt tell the manager to change him out. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) I'd be all for starting Lillibridge everyday till the All Star Break until Beckham gets his groove back in AAA. Considering Gordon is hitting .333 with an OPS over 1 over his last 7 game, and is making some solid contact I don't know what you gain from moving him down. You let him flounder this long, now that he looks to be getting some better ABs its pointless to move him down. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 09:25 PM) Greg, that's just too funny you're begging Thome to return. It's days like today that make Ozzie look even dumber. Well not pinch hitting for Andruw is completely mindless. -

Taking situation where the pitcher is on the ropes and rescuing him by blindly hacking away. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 08:54 PM) How in the hell can we not hit this pitcher? Also, I don't think it's possible for Viciedo to hit an inside fastball with authority. Once again, another Sox prospect with a huge hole in his swing. I have no idea what our instructors do in the minors besides play cards and feed. They obviously don't fix mechanical issues, an they sure as hell don't instruct how to play baseball. -

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:56 PM) Fastball down the middle. Bold choice. It confused him, so he only drove it to RF> -

In the offseason I would like Kenny to go into a isolated room and assemble an American League lineup without worrying about placating to someone's wishes that we were in the NL and its 2003. He also needs to Ozzie proof the lineup. No left handed not so good hitters that some would consider role or bench players that can be turned into starters. Timo Erstad Mack Wise Kotsay All role players that became factors as they were turned into starters or used to much. -

Pitch at Gordon's neck, he pops it back. Hawks response, "HE GOT A COOKIE AND COULDN"T DO ANYTHING WITH IT". Really Hawk. The neck high fastball is considered a cookie. What spectacle of human can drive the neck high fastball out with regularity. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:38 PM) And he does a terrible job at charging the ball and throwing quickly. That's similar to Dye, who never threw out runners even though he had a pretty good arm. He also has a bad habit of throwing the ball into home and over throwing the cutoff man and allowing the trailer to get into second. It sets up a longer rally for the opposition. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:32 PM) That's what worries me about Beckham...he has no power or carry on any of his fly balls. So far this year, he looks physically overmatched. But he has before had carry on his contact. Last year does allow for some projection. I think he is too coachable of a kid and allowed himself to get caught up in the tinkering game. Lets fix something that isnt broke. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:25 PM) Very nice, tied it! Now let's get the Rios caught stealing out of the way, and hope our bullpen can shut them down. I get a kick out of managers who pitch out and pick Ozzies wide open pocket on the automatic "hes going" man on first and two outs. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:21 PM) How do you just not drool over this Ranger organization right now? I'd give up anybody on our team for any one of Hamilton, Smoak, Andrus and Feliz. Then you've got Perez and Scheppers in the minors. Nasty. I have no faith in our own development of young players. We could take some of those wonderful young players and specs and turn them into hot s*** in a year and a half with our organization. -

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:10 PM) ssi71, the offense would still be subpar even with Dunn/Berkman/LaRoche. The addition of a real DH and a good Beckham would bring our offense back to respectability. The DH in the American League has a higher impact to the offense than a sophmore 2nd baseman. We decided to retard our offense by putting a subpar hitter in an offensive position. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:08 PM) You mean somebody like Vlad? Vlad would of been nice. I wanted Vlad over the winter, however someone decided that we were moved to the NL and its not 2010 and we dont play in the Cell. -

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:05 PM) Beckham's performance this year has seriously f***ed this team over. The offense would look so much better if he played up to his ability. The offense would also look better if we had an actual DH and not a pinch hitter/replacement player in that spot day in and day out. -

QUOTE (Real @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 09:47 PM) one thing that i've learned about the sox is that they are a fragile team mentally, and i knew (well I had a good feeling) that there was a great chance we would lose back to back games, especially with Mark pitching... who the Royals seem to just manhandle with MVP candidates Bloomquist and Aviles in the lineup maybe it was just the thought that maybe the american league could slow them down and they were all thinking about the AL vs NL bulls*** that the media has been throwing out there the past two weeks, maybe they let it get to them and they got TBS that Rongey always talks about have to win these next two games, hopefully they're against pitchers we've f***ing seen before We have seen Grienke, however he is pretty good. -

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 09:19 PM) Well this is looking bleak. Not looking forward to Soria in the 9th. Kinda wonder why we re-signed Mark Kotsay if we're not going to use him when he's actually needed. Because Guillen doesn't pinch hit for HOF hitters players. -

Aggressive base-running in front of power hitters = stupid. Should be 3-2
