I love running our 3 hole hitter into outs when our hot cleanup hitter is up. -

Hopefully Kenny makes a move to shore up the DH hole. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 05:53 PM) Wow, Mark Kotsay is our DH and Ozzie's cool with it? I don't buy that. How is this shocking. This was his view from the beginning. Do you really think that all of a sudden Ozzie is going to rethink his thought process.

Congrats to the US for getting to the round of 16. Too much effort put forward to get there. Hopefully we move forward and get a quality international coach instead of taking MLS cup winners and promoting them. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 26, 2010 -> 03:42 PM) +1 minute was a joke there. My least favorite part of football. The play acting and diving s***. You fart near a Ghanan player and they roll around like your shot them with a .45. -

Our defense has been our issue this whole cup. Too many times guys are leaking past the last line of defense and getting open looks at the goalmouth. -

Clark comes off for Edu. Never should of started in the first place. Hopefully this shores things up. Altidore needs to get his work rate up more. There are balls for him to finish, he just needs to get into position better. He does 90% of the work and then doesn't finish. Findley has golden opportunity and a poor finish. And then they almost give one up on the other end as our defense isn't sharp. We need better possession in the middle, and our guys need to finish better. -

So Clark was horses*** before in early defense and giveaways, so of course in the knockout phase Bradley decides to put him in. And what does he do, gives up another horsehit giveaway that leads to the score, and then picks up a crappy yellow because he is frustrated. US behind the 8 ball now. -

Kenny next year needs to do a better job Ozzie-proofing the lineup. Giving him an Erstad-type play like Kotsay has been terrible. Kotsay is fine off the bench, and to play once in a while. Ozzie in his usual fashion overuses a role player making him a starter for all intensive purposes. The writing was on the wall with this with the comments Ozzie made when they resigned him. Timo/Erstad/DWise, all you need to do is to be a certain slappy grindy not so good left handed hitter and you make it into the lineup way too many times. -
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 10:19 PM) I know its easy to say now, but I never understood why everyone labeled him as a sure thing, cant miss superstar right from the beginning. I guess it was because we really haven't had any elite prospects since the early 90's. Well in another organization that actually practices the art of minor league instruction and has major league coaches that can assist young hitters, he would be. He has hit in ever place he has been.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 10:15 PM) His swing is like 5 parts right now...I can't believe they continue to let him try this terrible approach. Everything is flailing every possible direction. Well maybe they can have someone take a look at his swing, besides the amateur psychologist that believes its only in his head.

On the fence. I want to see more consistency from the offense, and I want to see how we play against more AL opponents. The pitching has been amazing.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 05:34 PM) Completely agree...he sucks, and what's very discouraging is that the few times he does put good swings on the ball, he has no power at all. If we could do it all over again, I'd take Smoak over him I truly believe. Smoak would be just as f***ed up. We suck with development of the kids. We have no concept on how to teach fundamentals and to assist players through mechanical issues. The only one that seems to have a basic grasp of that is Coop.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 05:07 PM) Even if you could pick anybody in the world to be the White Sox hitting coach, how many runs would you realistically expect the line up Ozzie threw out there today to score? I don't think all that much of our hitting coach. But this abortion of an offense is on Ozzie and Kenny. Kenny placated someone's silly notion to recreate the 2003 NL Marlins offense. The only difference is instead of Miguel Cabrera we have Kotsay. This was built to fail.
