I love running our 3 hole hitter into outs when our hot cleanup hitter is up.

Hopefully Kenny makes a move to shore up the DH hole.

Our defense has been our issue this whole cup. Too many times guys are leaking past the last line of defense and getting open looks at the goalmouth.

Clark comes off for Edu. Never should of started in the first place. Hopefully this shores things up. Altidore needs to get his work rate up more. There are balls for him to finish, he just needs to get into position better. He does 90% of the work and then doesn't finish. Findley has golden opportunity and a poor finish. And then they almost give one up on the other end as our defense isn't sharp. We need better possession in the middle, and our guys need to finish better.

So Clark was horses*** before in early defense and giveaways, so of course in the knockout phase Bradley decides to put him in. And what does he do, gives up another horsehit giveaway that leads to the score, and then picks up a crappy yellow because he is frustrated. US behind the 8 ball now.

Kenny next year needs to do a better job Ozzie-proofing the lineup. Giving him an Erstad-type play like Kotsay has been terrible. Kotsay is fine off the bench, and to play once in a while. Ozzie in his usual fashion overuses a role player making him a starter for all intensive purposes. The writing was on the wall with this with the comments Ozzie made when they resigned him. Timo/Erstad/DWise, all you need to do is to be a certain slappy grindy not so good left handed hitter and you make it into the lineup way too many times.

Wow, can Ozzie use this strategy more. The lets challenge their best hitter late in the game never works out for us. Taking the bat out of their best power guy, and making someone else beat you is great strategy.
