  1. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:25 PM) Alex Rios. And how exactly did Alex Rios hit last year down the stretch. Sure last year was a fluke. But he wouldnt of been available for nothing if he was hitting normal. This is akin to hoping you find a great deal at the garage sale next week because you read about someone getting a 100k painting for 10 bucks. In reality the garage sale is just going to get you Aunt Myrtle's old dresses.
  2. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) Holy s*** Jason Goff is saying that the Dunn deal might be announced shortly. Hopefully this is better info than his Lebron info.
  3. The idea of the sox rocking with Andruw/Kotsay as a DH against the Yanks/Rays in the playoffs sickens me. Hopefully Guillen lets the Dayan get more ABs as this winds down and talent overshadows an old legend and a pinch hitter.
  4. QUOTE (IceCreamPants @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) I among a lot of other men (from what I hear) have trouble peeing in public places where there are others present. Sporting events it is almost impossible for me to squeeze one out no matter how bad I have to go. I just dont know how to deal with it. The harder I try to go the more my dong locks it in. It is complete stage fright and its without a reason. Even if there is only one other person in the bathroom I still wont be able to take my leak. How do I get past this? Its something that I have dealt with for as long as I can remember. I have tried to picture waterfalls and imagine I am the only one present but then it just winds up dribbling down almost hitting my pants. Who has has this? How do you fix the pipe?
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) Hawk tell Moose to stop talking for a second and explain what's happening. Moose sounds like Grandpa Munster.
  6. The whitesox need to invest more into their drafting as well as the international free agency period. That investment can pay off in future trade capital as well as to help shore up our major league ball club with talent. But that is only part of the puzzle. We need to a much better job of preparing our young players from the first day that they step into our organization to be a major league ball player. Every step on the way for a minor leaguer should be teaching fundamental baseball, and how to play it. Each level should have the same organizational philosophy so when a player arrives they know how to plug into the team and start playing. That, over any scouting, is why the Twins have a good approach with their minor leagues. You can have all the talent in the world, but if you mess up their preparation you will never get the full talent out of that player. We have rushed flawed hitters and pitchers through our system for years, either to showcase them for a future trade or because their physical talents could overcome any deficiencies. Only later do we find out that major league scouts can exploit any major hole. The one time I was completely head over heads livid with our lack of talent in the minor leagues was when Miguel Cabrera was available. Kenny would of traded the entire farm for him, however the farm was bare. Too many Josh Fields and Lance Broadways. If we spent a little more time on development, and maybe a bit more on the draft we may have had him. Now that guy is a game changer, and a building block. Thats a guy to get upset about. Not random X rental player. I would like to see the sox pick up a bat, because the Andruw Jones/Kotsay DH thing is sad. But in the same token. I dont want to sack half my team for a rental player. Sure if Miguel Cabrera is on the block, then sure.
  7. Hell Delusional, Meet Bobby. Bobby meet Delusional. From Cowley: Jenks: "(Sunday) in Minnesota was on me, but tonight I had good stuff..." LMAO
  8. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 12:25 AM) Guarantee that Jenks will get at least 1 opportunity within the next 3 or 4 save situations. I bet its the very next save opportunity. Ozzie pulled this s*** already this season, and did the same thing. Teams that have closers with > 5 ERAs don't win too many division titles.
  9. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 12:17 AM) Just said so in post game presser. Why the hell do they need to go with a committee. They have a guy with closer experience, great stuff, and sick numbers this year. Hopefully not naming Putz the closer isn't just one of the Ozzie says something, and then immediately puts Bobby in the next save situation to prove a point. We have had people lose their jobs over performance for all of what 10 minutes before they are put back in the role. Putz should be the closer. End of Line.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) doc, I totally agree. I was extremely impressed by the quality of their ABs this weekend. Its real simple. We can win this division. 1.) We need to stop wetting the bed up in Minny. No throwing the ball all over the place, no kicking it all over the place, no self defeat because they are the twins. Hit, pitch and catch the ball and we can do well. 2.) We need to start beating our own division. You cannot win a division when you get pantsed by teams in it. We need to ramp up our efforts in our own division. 3.) A move needs to be made. Konerko has his own opinion, but the idea that Kotsay is our DH is a joke. That needs to get fixed and in a hurry. We should of won at least 2 if not 3 of these games and our own actions f***ed us. We have problems in the second half because that is when the pressure kicks on, and we go into pucker mode. Just play baseball and we will win.
  11. Nick Blackburn is hot garbage this year. They should be able to come back and put up a good amount of runs on him.
  12. Same f***ing pitch, now called a strike. LMAO
  13. Hi my name is Dale Scott and the strike zone confuses me.
  14. Hawk keeps talking about the gift 6 runs, yet we scored a run from a balk when the pitchers cleats stuck. Dont let f***ing Thome beat us. God damn it. It sickens me everytime I see Kotsay in the lineup, and to think we could of had Thome for nothing.
  15. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) I hate Joe Mauer I hate attacking Mauer with first ball fastball. Breaking pitches early in the count does wonders against the twins.
  16. Kenny needs to make this Kotsay situation go away, because our manager is in love with this type of crappy hitter. Timo Perez, Darin Erstad, Rob Mackowiak, Dewayne Wise, and now Kotsay. The zero tool lefty grindy not so good hitter that would be fine on the bench, however it gets overused because our manager projects starter out of him.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 10:17 PM) That was a f***ing strike! Here is the last sequence by Jenks. They really need to use pitchfx to review umpires after games. Some of this is comical.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 10:12 PM) Nice stop by Beckham, but what the heck is Ozzie doing? Making sure his Twins fantasy league team gets enough points before he puts in his closer.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 10:08 PM) Seems like all the damage to Santos is off of his fastball. AJ doesnt call his changeup to RH hitters. Its fastball/slider only.
  20. Hawk " If you weren't around for the 2nd inning, a dropped ball cost the sox 6 runs." And of course if you weren't there for the 2nd inning you may have heard about this at least 30 times since from our announcer.
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 09:42 PM) Pitching wins games. Scoring more runs than the opposition is what wins games. Pitching helps prevent runs from being scored. A .600 OPS DH helps the opposition in the same manner.
  22. Its amazing we have won as many games as we have with Brian Anderson Darin Erstad as our DH.
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 15, 2010 -> 09:37 PM) Well id have ph with Jones here and then moved CQ to DH after this inning. That doesn't work without the right cheat code.
