QUOTE (greg775 @ May 17, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) I put the changes I wanted. I said I knew we wouldn't move Lexi back to second. Since they wont do that, put Beckham at third, it's Lexi at short and play Omar/Nix at second. Making Teahen a scrub makes a helluva lot more sense than sending Beckham down. If we send Beckham down, I think our organization has lost its mind. And to think this organization put together a WS champ just five years ago. And your ideas on defensive positioning = not good. Beckham is playing the position he should. He is playing pretty good defense at a position that scouts thought he would play as a MLBer. He is not a projected 3rd baseman. Putting Omar as a starter in any MLB lineup is a terrible idea. -

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 17, 2010 -> 03:52 PM) He will be bunting. I have no problem with Vizquel playing but I really am very tired of some canned type of line-up that has not worked for the last two season that guillen keeps shoving down our throats. I really believe after watching this team that RHH can not hit RHP and LHH can not hit LHP. Well adding Vizquel to the top of the lineup will be a new twist. He can't hit either. -
My snacking through the day is pretty damn healthy. Walnuts, peanuts, and sunflower seeds for the most part are my snacking food during the day.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:52 PM) So, Nix gets on-base four times his last start and then precedes to never be played over a slumping Beckham. Awesome. As I have stated before, the next option that Ozzie will use is Omar. Logic need not apply. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 17, 2010 -> 02:38 PM) Why the heck would he bat 2nd? If you insist on putting him in your lineup then bury him at the bottom. This is a taste of your everyday 2nd base situation if they send down Beckham. Ozzie will insert him, and bat him 2nd. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 17, 2010 -> 10:42 AM) Best surprise of the year....Garcia, Jones or Rios? I say Garcia. He's been an absolute workhorse and exceeded all of my expectations. I expected a bounce back year from Rios. Rios's last year was the only outlier in his career. Garcia would be my vote as well. Santos would be another candidate. Sure the has the arsenal. Its been amazing that he has thrown all of his pitches for strikes, and has had the composure that he has had not a year after his conversion.

QUOTE (Real @ May 17, 2010 -> 09:38 AM) AJ isn't making that much money that you even consider dumping him, given all of the things he brings to the table. He's not even tendered past this year! Not to mention you aren't going to get ANYTHING worth a damn that will offset what you're losing if you trade him. You think teams are going to give up a top prospect for AJ? I mean, really? Stupid trade idea. How about coming up with a trade that actually makes sense? Oh, and if you think the White Sox are going to tear up whatever semblance of hope their fans (not you, or me, but the casuals that go to games and don't sweat if the team loses) have, by having a firesale and dumping 8 or 9 faces of this franchise, and risk an all-time low attendance in 2011, keep dreaming! They'll come up with a way to dump a guy here and there, and plan it out so the team still looks competitive next year and still be alright financially This team is screwed though, as far as actually WINNING divisions. What's the philosophy of the White Sox as a franchise? Do they teach ANYTHING to their prospects coming up through the system, that can be expected of them once they reach the big leagues? Look at the Twins, Rays, Yankees, even the Nationals, Angels. These teams are doing it the right way. A way this team has never done it. This franchise as it stands has no definition. Just a generic organization that doesn't have a strong farm system, or scouting department. They can't properly evaluate talent in the minors OR in the majors. You can group the Sox in with other generic franchises like the Rangers, Mariners, Tigers, Indians, A's, etc. Teams that aren't expected to be competitive on a yearly basis. If this organization doesn't develop a philosophy, a philosophy where all players are expected to understand what this team is about, a philosophy where players and management care about performing at the highest level, then it's going to continue on being a gigantic clusterf***, like it has been the last 2-3 years flame away! Considering that the Rangers have one of the deepest and most talented farm systems in all of baseball, I wouldn't lump them in with the "can't be competitive on a yearly basis" crowd. Sometimes those small deals that seem like a simple salary dump work out pretty well. Ask the Indians if swapping out Broussard for Choo worked out at all. We are currently in baseball hell. The twins have a nice revenue stream, the Tigers just reloaded a bit and we are in the middle of the pack trying to see what goes on. Just changing deck chairs on the ship isn't going to fix it. Attendance is going to be terrible if its AJ on a 60-70 win team, or Flowers on a 60-70 win team. Attendance is tied to winning. Some of those names are getting a bit long in the tooth to keep resigning.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 16, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) If the Sox feel they have a GM and system capable of rebuilding with young prospects, then by all means deal Rios if he's dealable. Get rid of that contract. Trading Rios would be about as stupid of a move as there is in baseball. How long have we waited to get a decent CF. Finally we get one and shipping him off for spects comes up. Come on now. This is a guy in his prime with crazy tools. He is about the last person on this team I would ship off. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) Soxnet.net game writeup here, with a summary of what we saw from Thornton and why we're all talking about it for anyone who missed the game. Best line evah in that summary..... Looks like Teahan wrote it.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 15, 2010 -> 07:36 PM) Josh Fields and Jerry Owens were fun to follow the 2nd half that year. Even Wasserman as a rookie. Buehrle had his first no-hitter. Jerry Owens was never fun to watch. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 15, 2010 -> 07:31 PM) That might be the game if Hochevar's A "stuff" is there tonight. Let's hope he lets us back into the game somehow. This HAS to be the bottom, getting swept by the KC Royals goes right up there with 1-5 against CLE. That's a sure sign of lack of competitiveness within our own division against the two worst teams. Its nobody's fault. No one is to blame. Just bad luck, bad weather, and other associated crap. Can't wait to here KW b**** about how he can't afford anything because of attendance. -

Attention Juan Pierre. When the ball gets stuck under the pad, raise both of your hands up as its part of the ground rules. You fidgiting it out messing around allows another run to score. -

The entire reason you drop Beckham down in the order is to alleviate pressure and allow him to come out of it himself. Can someone explain the concept of logic to our manager. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:34 PM) Frank just said you hate to play a team after they made a change. Earlier tonight he said the change would be chaos, the Sox had an excellent chance at a sweep. I hate to be critical of the guy since he is just filling in, but.............................................. Here is the mentor of all Sox announcers...Frank just watched the 15 minute training video. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) Yeah but the Xbox would also tell you playing 4-5 of our other regulars is a dumb move. Greg, let me spell it out for you. If you really really wanted Omar in your lineup for whatever reason, for the love of god at least have him field. Its the only thing that provides value. Having him DH is beyond stupid. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:19 PM) All you had to do was look at the White Sox line up tonight to know Gil Meche was going to have a decent game. This team is boring and embarrassing. I went from having a ticket plan a few years back, to going to about 15 to 20 games, to going to a few. And now my first game going this year, probably will be at the corporate event at the cubs-sox game at wrigley. Maybe I will take my son a few times so he can see Southpaw, but dumping money on this pig is a waste of time. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:16 PM) How can you stop there? What about Teahen? What about Juan? And you are absolutely insane if you didn't think that Guillen has something to do with Juan being on this team. He has had a hard on for slappy since he was his 3rd base coach in Florida.
