  1. Bruce Chen is hot garbage these days. 7 runs, very nice.
  2. QUOTE (soxfan-kwman @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) he got a couple of walks last night & a nice hit later in the game last night but Beckham is hitting different...Beckham has widened his natural stance & swing. I'm not saying Greg Walker is to blame, but someone should tell him to start with his feet closer together. Watch tonight, he takes a practice cut with his regular swing & then he moves into the batters box with his legs bent & almost pigeon toed. Anyone else notice? Its one of his go to methods. The spread stance. He used it with Uribe and with Pablo. It worked a bit with Pablo, not so much with Uribe.
  3. His big issue is that Teahen backs up on the ball and lets it play him. The minute he starts to back peddle you can just wait for him to get eaten up. The minute he starts to get more aggressive and play the hop better he will be fine. The problem is, he keeps on making the same mistakes that should of been corrected a long long time ago.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 5, 2010 -> 06:58 AM) Ugh, 4 of our 5 starting pitchers have ERAs of 5.30 or higher. I don't care who is leading off, you aren't gonna win many games like that. Well its still hard to win games when your offense is an abortion as well.
  5. Anytime the offense wants to start hitting would be fine by me. Its warm out. The next series is going to be tough enough with Marcum, Eveland and Romero going against us.
  6. QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 4, 2010 -> 09:45 PM) Tony Pena likes home runs. Shame he's not a hitter We have been in love with this mold of reliever. Mike Jackson ---> Vizcaino -----> Pena. Same fastball/slider combo.
  7. Rios and Konerko at least have been fun to watch.
  8. The next series look like a mess. We face Marcum and Romero. Yikes.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 4, 2010 -> 09:29 PM) Speaking of watching other things...have you guys seen Up in the Air? Watched it last night finally...what a depressing pile of s***. I watched that with the wife, and wanted my 2 hours back afterwards. What a pile of crap.
  10. QUOTE (Real @ May 4, 2010 -> 09:23 PM) this is why i don't get excited anymore if we win, or get too down if we lose, this team isn't very good and tonight just goes to show that what a disgrace, i don't know how i'll accept a firesale if it happens, though i don't think it'll happen. but i'm not kenny or jerry.. Well you have a date coming up in June where AJ becomes a 10 and 5 guy. Outside of that, there is no reason to talk about a firesale until July.
  11. Its amazing that Randy Williams finds new and inventive ways of allowing baserunners.
  12. This should be an interesting battle. Their crappy middle relief against our crappy offense. So far the first battle goes the way of our offense. Lets pour it on before the only reliever they have gets up.
  13. Well the fact that they have twice as many runs 6 as we have hits may pose a problem in the cause of trying to win this game.
  14. This is an example on how pitch counts dont dictate when you pull a guy. Gavin pretty much on the ropes early in the game and threw a lot of stress filed pitches. Once he got to the 5th you consider it a job well done. Letting him flail in the wind at the end was pointless.
  15. Maybe someone can tweet Ozzie to let him know its time to get the pen up.
  16. Hawk "Your offense is only as good as your bullpen." ? Maybe thats our problem. The middle relievers have been wearing the offense's unis and have been hitting for them.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 4, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) Oh thank goodness....describe it some more for me...I have been so worried about Gordo...I can hardly jerk it anymore I have been so concerned... You should move to your left, it takes pressure off your right hand.
  18. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 4, 2010 -> 08:36 PM) Have you ever seen Konerko f*** up that feed to the pitcher? For all his lack of speed and mobility, he sure makes it up in other areas. His ability to pick throws out of the dirt is what I think of when it comes to his D. Its pretty damn good.
  19. Aviles looks like he is trying to signal mars with his wild crazy pre set swing he does.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ May 4, 2010 -> 08:29 PM) I know nothing about pitching, but Hochevar's pitching mechanics look odd. Like he could blow out his arm at any second. Doesn't matter. He could throw with his feet and retire 10 in a row against us now.
  21. Our situational hitting needs a kick in the ass this game.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 4, 2010 -> 08:06 PM) Lets not start sucking each others dicks just yet. It's not like he's hitting like Ted Williams all of a sudden.
  23. Gavin lives on the wild side for another inning and survives. Can't keep making a habit of this. Time for the offense to get its head out of its ass.
  24. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 4, 2010 -> 07:51 PM) I hope so. I'd rather have Morel at 3B right now than Teahen. Based on what, 22 games at AA. Lets let Morel mature a bit before we promote him.
