QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 09:02 PM) Let's get some runs. Well its not our fault. We only score 3.89 runs a game and they scored 4.

God the f***ing "pressure" excuse. Every major league team has pressure. Not too many teams have the entire team shut down offensively all at the same time.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) Sincere question...when's the last time Beckham hit a ball hard? Flip his card. Its cold. Hes not loosey goosey. He knows how to hit already, its coming.

Beckham with a bat slam. So nice to see that the veteran leadership is rubbing off on the kids.

So when is the 2003 Juan Pierre that Ozzie thought he was getting going to show up. Because this out generating machine is not helping.

The super fast ground out machine is up. Lets see if he can do something.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 08:46 PM) Sorry but Mark is just a slightly above average pitcher these days. In his defense. His numbers would look a lot better if he got an opportunity to face Ozzieball on a regular basis.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) Alexei... LOL God bless him but Konerko has to be the slowest ball player on the planet. If anyone runs slower, they are handicapped.

Holy Christ Alexei hit it to right field.
-
GT: CWS @ TEX, Tues 4/27, 7:05pm CT
Well this is either going to result in a slam, or something not so pretty. Alexei is going to swing as hard as he can, and pray it hits somewhere where a fielder isnt.

The best way to drive in runners in scoring position is to hit the first pitch that comes near the plate. If a pitcher doesn't throw a lot of pitches, he can't get into a groove.

QUOTE (Real @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) btw, beginning of the game.. the rangers pbp and color guys were absolutely ripping our offense, went as far as to call it pathetic, lol At least our stats can refute their observations.

That was a speedy 4-3. So this is what a leadoff hitter looks like. Huh.

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) Try 30 minutes a shot, at least twice a week - on top of his various commercials, another position change and the league adjusting to him. I'm sure he'll be fine, but you bet that when he is, we'll hear that Gordon just "needed to settle in" -- I think it would happen faster without the distractions. And, if you notice, we need it to happen . . . faster. Well Gordon is a young, non established kid in his second year. This is exactly the type of guy that should be coachable and someone that should be able to be fixed.

This is going to be an easy game for Wilson if we keep rolling over on everything.

Maybe they can learn not to roll over on the low and away slow crap.

What's wrong with Jake Peavy?
QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) Just heard his interview. Basically, Jake said that when he got to Spring Training, Coop and the staff tried to "fix" his mechanics. He said that he tried to do some new things in the first few starts that weren't working out, and after watching some tape, Coop and him realized that he just isn't the kind of pitcher that uses perfect mechanics. He's going to try to go back to what he did in '07 and his 8 years with the Padres. I guess he's the Favre of baseball. Awesome at what he does, but no one should try to emulate his mechanics. Tidbit heard this morning when Stone was on the Score: Peavy's last start was trying to use a release point he used before in 07 and before. He had dropped down a shade which allowed for more velocity, but probably reeked havoc on his control. It may take him a start or so to get that release point down.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Apr 24, 2010 -> 05:49 PM) Rios is an entirely different player from the guy we saw last year. Nice ending and good to see a Garcia's quality start wasn't wasted. The guy you saw last year, is not the guy he has been his entire career. Last year was a fluke. Rios will be a good player for us. Kenny did a good job picking him up for nothing.
