  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2010 -> 09:09 PM) It's just so painfully obvious what's wrong with both of their swings. I might throw my computer the next time I see Beckham ground out back to the pitcher. Remember this is the same mindset that took a guy like Uribe who finally started to look good due to a new timing mechanism that Hrniak gave him and took on Project Uribe the following ST and dismantled Hrniak's fix turning him into crap. Remember the spread stance fixes everything.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2010 -> 09:02 PM) Beckham's first move of his swing continues to be flying open. Him and Quentin look the same up there....the Bust Brothers really could use a new hitting coach. According to his hitting coach, he is fine mechanically. Its just a mental thing. Maybe he can help them meditate and hope their swing fixes itself on its own. The only thing I can see about sending Beckham down is to get him away from the trainwreck.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2010 -> 03:44 PM) I haven't watched GB closely in a few days, especially since he's had days off, but a couple weeks ago, yeah his swing was legitimately screwed up, in a technical sense. Rios's struggles last year was not a mental issue. There is a noted difference in the swing. If Beckham's troubles are only mental then why is he spread stance being tried. Its not just mental. Its something else. Even Stoney is pointing out that they are attacking him differently and he is not adjusting to it.
  4. QUOTE (docsox24 @ May 20, 2010 -> 12:16 PM) I hope its a slump but i am not positive about that yet. A lot of guys have had first year success and then ended up never matching it again. I think Coghlan could be one of those guys. Just bring in Hrniak and see if he can help Gordon or CQ. Either they are not listening to the current voice, or the current voice is not fixing the issue. Stone keeps talking about a specific way they are pitching Gordon, and we see quotes about everything is fine with Gordon's swing its just a mental battle. Whatever, at the point we have 3 young players and all are not hitting. If you are not replacing Walk then bring him in some help.
  5. Here is more of a realistic formula. 1.) Magic - Maybe a spell, a curse, or some other wishing potion might wreck both the twins and the tigers. 2.) Act of God - Natural disaster, end of the world type s***. 3.) Ped use - Maybe their the nutritionist gets caught spiking horsey testy juice to all of their good players. All at the same time. 4.) Intimidation - Maybe the Chicago outfit can start to pressure the other teams to give it up, make an offer they can't refuse. 5.) Massive injuries to large parts of their teams and to most of their minor leagues at the same time. In reality. Just hit the f***ing ball like you have a pair, and catch it like you don't have two stone hands. That should do wonders for the winning percentage.
  6. The disappearing meatball. The fastball down the cock with no movement around 90. Nearly impossible for a major league hitter to make contact with it.
  7. Someone drive in a f***ing run for the love of god.
  8. So I figured out how to get the entire fan experience at the cell at home this year. 1.) Take 120 bucks out of my pocket, then burn it. 2.) Run as fast as I can into a doorknob with my junk.
  9. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 19, 2010 -> 09:17 PM) So, how's Ozzie going to rotate out of this one? They are just going to tip their caps and act like nothing has happened.
  10. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 19, 2010 -> 08:02 PM) But the reason we won't: Our starting pitchers can't protect a f***in lead. I hate when our pitchers give up more than the token run our anemic offense scores. The offense scored its token run, our pitchers just need to stone up and throw shutouts.
  11. The meeting they had is paying off dividends I see.
  12. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 19, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) Yes, because the book on him ends after one mistake. Well the book on him last year was play him at 2nd and he would play good defense. Move him somewhere else and cue the circus music.
  13. Cue the circus music. Sorry Danks. Your line should be 8 innings, 3 hits, 8 ks and 2 runs. But a combination of our rotten offense and some kick the ball defense f*** him.
  14. QUOTE (knightni @ May 19, 2010 -> 08:50 PM) Looks like Danks might be a tough luck loser tonight. It would be his third tough luck loss in a row. 5/12 Minn 7 innings 3 runs Loss 5/6 Tor 8 innings, 2 runs loss
  15. John Danks has 7 starts coming into tonight. The most runs he has given up is 3 runs and he is sitting at 3 wins, and 2 losses again being down because he has held another offense to 2 runs. This kid should be 7 - 0 right now.
  16. 1st and 2nd no outs turns into zero runs. This f***ing NL baseball nonsense in the AL is f***ing stupid.
  17. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 19, 2010 -> 08:32 PM) Nix had 3 bombs off Saunders in 5 at-bats coming into the game. And we bunted him. 2 hole hitters must bunt according to Ozzie's 1950's baseball manual.
  18. So we waste an out bunting guys over, one of which is in scoring position. The next guy then pops the first pitch right up. WTF. Konerko needs to come through now.
  19. Nice catch. Pods would of headed that into the bullpen.
  20. Hawk, all pitchers find their rhythm when they face our pathetic abortion of an offense. Hopefully they can get past the fact that the pitcher is using his left hand. Pretend he isn't scary, all lefty and stuff like that.
  21. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 19, 2010 -> 07:23 PM) Damnit, Rios. He took his eyes off of that as Andruw cruised behind him.
  22. The pace is pretty freakin amazing. This is like a video game with the turbo button pressed all the time.
  23. Thornton pulled someone down with his stick, of course the refs miss it.
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 18, 2010 -> 03:39 PM) That goes back to personnel. If he had a legitimate leadoff option, it wouldn't have been Wise for him to go with Wise and he knew that as well. What about in 2008 when he wanted to start Owens in LF and have Quentin on the bench out of ST. Only an injury stopped that. Ozzie likes speedy slappy guys. Sometimes thats not always the best option.
  25. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 18, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) Stuck in the 80s? We won it all in 05 with him at the helm. Oh I forgot, he did nothing to help us win the WS. Anybody could have led that team to the title. Tell that to every other Chicago baseball team trying to win a title in oh, one century. You must mean stuck in the 04s. He won in 05 on outstanding starting pitching, and a bullpen playing out of their mind. The offense was terrible for most of the season, and luckily got hot for 2 weeks at the right time. He didn't get to play his ozzie ball for most of 05 because Scotty Pods had a bad groin. The 80s comment is more to point out his fascination with playing slap and tickle in the modern American League. We play in a home run park.
