  1. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 01:30 PM) where's Jerry Owens again?? Sure thats the answer to our prayers. We will insert him into the lineup and take out one of the few hitters who has a plan in Quentin. Because that is exactly what Ozzie will do.
  2. 3 hits going into the top pf the 9th. Oakland's Smith who was rocked the following start after he faced the Walker offense was just invoked by DJ. Maybe DJ these guys arent Cy Young, maybe its the offense.
  3. QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 01:11 PM) Didn't they just hire from outside to bring in Cox to make this a more fundamentally sound team? From what I can tell, the team plays worse defense, runs bases worse than last year, can't put down a bunt, and can't hit the other way. I don't really know what he was brought in for, but it seems to me the players have to take responsibility for sucking. We keep bringing in players outside the org over the last 3 years. Its funny, they all cant hit the minute they come here for average. The entire team as a whole cannot be fired. But one man can
  4. QUOTE (frankie5angels @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 01:06 PM) I know. When does managment say enough is enough and change hitting coaches. I mean this is the same f***ing s*** every damn year. It's ridiculous. If they didnt fire him last year, I dont know what it will take for them to fire him this year. But if they do, they need to go outside the organization and find someone new. This promoting crap from within is a bit dumb.
  5. QUOTE (frankie5angels @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 01:03 PM) It's a shame because with the starting pitching we have been getting, our record should be alot better than it is. Look at Mark Buerhle's record versus his ERA last year. He should of won 17 to 18 games last year with his ERA.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 01:00 PM) We're missing the two guys on the team with the best batting average. Is anyone surprised this lineup is doing bad? This is a blueprint to the Sonnanstine game last week. I have been talking about this for years. Its the Joe Mays blueprint on how to beat a Greg Walker team. You spot low and away with sub 90mph fastballs. Our team will attempt to pull them no matter what. When you get 2 strikes, go to changeups in the dirt away ( which again we will attempt to pull ), or breaking pitches into the opposing batters box. That will shut the team down. Now on the other hand, you get a flamethrower hitting 100 and we will rock him because they challenge our softball team over the middle of the plate.
  7. The Cy Youngification process has begun for the Orioles pitcher. DJ " Sometimes your approach at the plate is just fine, and the hits aren't dropping. You have to give credit where credit is due." I give credit, Greg and Mike get a lot of credit for the state of this softball team we have on the field. I will be livid when Ozzie decides to bench Quentin down the road, because we "need the fuse" at the top of the lineup. If this team goes into a dump, that will be one of he first things he does to "inject" speed into the everyday lineup.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 12:50 PM) So here's my question....the explanation for why so many of our pitchers have lost so much velocity in the past few years is so they could have better command. Not only does MacDougal have no control now, but he's also lost 4 mph on his fastball. Either he's had just too many injury issues in the past....or we need a visit from "Max". THe problem is that usually dropping a bit of velocity will help your control. The only problem, is MacD is not exactly mechanically sound.
  9. MacD is just another Arsonist that should be in AAA with Waserman up.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 12:45 PM) I do think I'd rather see MacD then Dootell MacD's ERA is akin to Thriller who gave up other peoples runs.
  11. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 12:36 PM) The offense has been sliding the last couple years. We can hit the bomb, but not for average. Hall might now be over the Mendoza line, as least for one more at bat, but we have several under the line and some other closing down fast The Rob Deer philosophy to offensive baseball.
  12. So we had the bad second half of 06 when the offense shut down, then the complete collapse in 07, and now the worst BA in the American league. Maybe we can have some more great pieces in the Suntimes from the director of Whitesox marketing "Joe Cowley" about how Greg is the best hitting coach in baseball.
  13. And the whitesox "Its a bloodbath at third" continues. They should just use the dramatic pull shift on our team. We would basically get no hit every game.
  14. Tubby Hall and his brazillian he has on his face just dorked a ball to left.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 12:27 PM) At least Owens might be able to get some base hits, something this team is lacking right now. If Owens starts, Quentin is back to being a 4th OF. Thats the problem.
  16. QUOTE (frankie5angels @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 12:27 PM) I agree with everyone though that Toby Hall is as useless as tits on a bull!! No way this guy should be on this team. What a cock tease when we thought that he was getting released at the end of ST. They called him into the office with Kenny and Ozzie, and he obviously using his Jedi Mind trick convinced Ozzie and Kenny that he is ready to go.
  17. QUOTE (Cowch @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 12:24 PM) Yuck, 12-9 isn't even THAT good. Danks is responding well after that homer. We pissed away the crappy start by the Tigers by playing 500 baseball for the last 2 weeks. Their offense has started to heat up, and ours is clouded by a perfect storm part II.
  18. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 12:16 PM) went right under his glove. His defense isnt worth the abortion he is at the plate right now. Anderson was in platoon mode in 06 as quickly as you could say Mack and he was hitting better than this joker.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 12:13 PM) And now Uribe forgets to cover 2nd base. Terrible throw by Hall though....another player who shouldn't be in the majors. Damn hot dog guy distracted him screaming "Red Hots".
  20. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 12:11 PM) I've wanted Greg Walker fired since 2006. I can't remember the last time we went to the opposite field with any consistency. We did in game one versus CC in Cleveland. And then we stopped, and went into lift and pull mode. Notice something though, we keep bringing people in from outside the organization and their BA kind of all look the same. You can discount Quentin because he is basically a rookie.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 26, 2008 -> 01:04 PM) Have the Sox even hit a ball to the opposite field today? This is embarrassing. Walk thinks this is lob league and right field is out.
  22. Any day the offense wants to get their head out of their rears would be okay by me. When walker gets his check, I wonder if he wears a mask.
