One guy gets a hit up the middle. This is the only team that doesn't see a success and try to repeat it. -

I hope our team doesnt hurt their arms tipping their caps to all the pitchers in this series. Hawk has Marcum inducted to the HOF already. -

Low and Away and Crede takes monsterous cuts trying to park the pitch. Then a changeup, and we get the big cut. Then he drops the bat out and pulls the low and away breaking pitch. -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2008 -> 07:02 PM) Yet Hawk makes it sound like it was a horrible play due to overthrowing the cut-off man. The ball sailed a bit on the throw, but it was good and strong. With our rotten offense you cant blame Brian from taking the shot. The only problem is that the trailer advanced on the throw. -

QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ May 2, 2008 -> 06:59 PM) I really wish we had Brain Roberts right now. Why so he can sit stranded out on the bases. -

Changeups and breaking pitches versus a Lift and Pull team = a mess. -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2008 -> 06:34 PM) Isn't it his freaking job to get them motivated? I guess he's the only manager/coach in sports who's not responsible for getting his players prepared and motivated to play. He said he flipped on the music, and told them not to hang their heads. -

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 2, 2008 -> 02:26 PM) Well, if you work for someone else and get busted looking at Soxtalk when you werent supposed to because you got rickrolled, you wouldnt have anyone to blame but yourself. You are being watched. I have built 3 Security Operation Centers in my years of doing this. And they all pretty much look the same. And yet we are watching. We have had 3 complaints this week from users who thought they had a virus, and it turned out. They were just Rickrolled. -
Cheat breaks the April offense down.

Bugs and Cranks: Bench Quentin for Owens
southsideirish71 replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
In 05 our offense took off for 2 months. Those were the two months when Frank Thomas added protection in the middle of the lineup. Including one where he OPS'd over 1.000. Our pitching was the reason the team was winning games in 05. Outside of the playoffs and 2 months in the season, the offense sucked even with Prancer running around the bases. April 11th out of 14 teams in runs scored 106 May 7th out of 14 teams in runs scored 123 June ( when Frank comes back ) 6th in the AL with 143 runs July 5th in the AL with runs scored with 141 runs. Then Frank goes down and we are DHing Timo Freakin Perez in New York August 13th in the AL with only 98 runs scored. Now the pitching slows down a bit, hence the wins come down a bit. September we are 8th in the AL with 126. The change right before the playoffs ran that turned the offense around was the moving of DH Carl Everett from the 3 hole, and the insertion of Jermaine Dye. -
For 3 years, you tie him up in the middle of the prison and let the deviants do whatever they want with him. Then you give him a shovel and tell him to dig a hole, when he finishes it take the shovel off of him smack him over the head with it, kick him in the hole, and cover with dirt.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 1, 2008 -> 02:39 PM) If he really wanted to save face, he'd take the article down too. http://lh4.ggpht.com/DavidRenneke/RqQey5E4....JPG?imgmax=640 I love it when you can put a face with such moronic writings. The one in the middle is John. -

I read it as sarcasm like the Onion. -
With Konerko having a bum hand for over a week. And before we say, well rest will fix it. He had rest, with off days and such and it didnt heal right away. I would rather have Fields or Owens called up just to have another bat. We dont need another bullpen arm. How many freakin pitchers do we need. Pitching is not the issue, its hitting.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 11:57 PM) I expected more than 4 innings of what I consider sub par pitching against a team of no names. I never said he cost us the game. But I guess I'm in the minority big time so I will now shut up. Cuddyer, Morneau, Mauer, Young. Those are no names?
-
Isnt this the same BS thing they did last year, when the offense started to press. If they are pressing this is not good.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 05:47 PM) Okay, he gave the Sox something. Four innings, five hits and three walks. For you to suggest that is close to a decent start is wrong. I stand my my statement he gave the Sox nothing. If it makes you feel better I'll amend it to "little to nothing." What exactly did you expect from the long man making a spot start. 5 innings, 10K, 1 hit? He did an admirable job, gave us some great innings, and took a lot of pressure off of the bullpen. The pitching was fine in this one, the rotten offense making Blackburn look like Cy Young is more to blame than anything.

GTA IV is great. Amazing amount of detail.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 04:01 PM) LOL, I love when the Sox lose because it brings the crazies out of the caves. For some real bad news, The Tigers have traded away Jason Grilli. I hate it when another teams arsonist leaves town.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:47 PM) Fields at 2B would make a sense. His bat would be a welcome addition to our offense.
