QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2008 -> 08:59 PM) Ugh, terrible by Swisher. This team is so bad with fundamentals. Nothing like letting the trailer advance on the throw he cant make anyway. -

QUOTE (WillieHarris2 @ May 7, 2008 -> 08:55 PM) so do you think swisher could cut off a ball hit in the gap better than owens, anderson, or rowand? it seems to me the only thing you can prove that is great about the sox outfield is quentin's arm because what good is dyes arm if it takes him three days to get to the ball i guess i must be drunk then when i watch these games because dye moves in slow motion, and swisher doesnt seem to track balls the way anderson or owens do, even alexi rameriez, last time i checked or maybe you guys are drunk on hawk and dj's cool aid News flash, Rowand has been gone for two years. Move on to another man crush. Yes Dye moves in slow motion. The decision to dump him past last year, he has a NTC this year, so he will be out there until his legs fall off. And yes, I have often been confused with Hawk. Oh and my favorite guy is Greg Walker, he is the bestest hitting coach as well. -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) I can only imagine how high your blood pressure is tonight. Blood pressure is fine. If this team is too stupid to fire the hitting coach after a more than a year and a half of ineptitude then its their own fault. The other team must giggle when they plan their attack. So coach, if I spot low and away I can dominate them. I feel bad for Buerhle who is getting jabbed just like last year. He pitches fine, and the asshole hitting crew cant put together a thing. We would have the best record in the AL by far if we had a medicore offense. -

Then the smartest man on the team, grounds out on a check swing. This slow stuff confuses him like Algebra I guess. -

Swish just unlocked the formula. Think quick stroke, drive the ball back up the middle if you can. If you try to do too much, you screw yourself. Then Crede of course, rips one on the ground because he is part of the pull monkey coalition of the blind. -

QUOTE (lostfan @ May 7, 2008 -> 08:46 PM) The fact that you said Quentin has an average arm would lead me to believe you had a complete lack of knowledge of anything about Quentin. Dude has a cannon and always has. The # of assists he has after one month of baseball should tell you nothing. Whats next, is he going to use Wins and Losses to tell who is a better pitcher. -

QUOTE (WillieHarris2 @ May 7, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) to answer your question yes ive seen the sox play this year and from what i've seen, nick swisher doesnt cut off balls in gaps the way aaron rowand used too (used too aka hes not on the team anymore). i have yet to see swisher cut off a ball in a gap and throw out a guy like i saw from alexi ramierez of all people. quentin has yet to show me that his arm is above average with only 2 assists, which is the same amount as just about every other person in the league or in other words average. last year he only had 2 assists in 76 games i believe Well if you question Quentins arm then you must be drunk when you watch the games. -

QUOTE (G&T @ May 7, 2008 -> 08:40 PM) What's really sad is that the ump is only helping that approach. He's calling high strikes, but seems not to be letting the zone go too low. For a HR hitting team, the Sox have no real interest in swinging at high strikes. They are waiting for the center cut, thigh high pitch that doesnt move to drive. The moving pitch low and away isnt the one that want. -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 7, 2008 -> 08:40 PM) A high school baseball team could probably shellack Hernandez. A pro baseball team, not so much. Thats because the high school team isnt taking monsterous cuts trying to hit the 3rd lane of the Ryan on the outside pitch. -

If you think right field your entire swing, you can wait back enough on it. But the pull monkey express is trying to hit homers tonight. This should be a quick 1-0 shutout if we keep the Greg Walker attack in play. -

QUOTE (Brian @ May 7, 2008 -> 08:28 PM) Our hitting coach told our players that Livan will walk his fair share, right? Our hitting coach told them to get around on the ball, elevate their bat by dipping the back shoulder, and to swing as hard as you can and hit this. -

My Prediction of the predictable trio of asshats at the times covering this. First you have Slezak, now Eddie Munster pipes up, now if my prediction is to hold we will need a Couch article on Friday. My name is Jay, and I am predictable. -

Lets Give Floyd a Standing Ovation
southsideirish71 replied to HuskyCaucasian's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (WCSox @ May 6, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) The Twins announcers were ragging on Ozzie for taking Floyd out after the Mauer double, saying that he should've given him the chance to throw a complete game. Not sure I agree, given that Floyd was already at 105 piches, has never thrown anything close to a 200-inning season, was already on the hook for the win, and Jenks hadn't pitched in a good week or so. Anyway, congrats to Floyd. Coop has done a great job of tapping this kid's potential. And kudos to Swisher for the effort out there. Nice to see that these guys are still playing as a team. Circle this Bert!!
