  1. QUOTE (SoxWS05 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:06 PM) The only person I can see who's expendable is Dye. He needs to be traded. This team needs some speed ASAP. 1. Owens LF 2. Swish CF 3. Thome DH 4. Konerko 1B 5. AJ C 6. Quentin RF 7. Crede 3B 8. OC SS 9. Uribe 2B Lets get this lineup in there. Owens as your leadoff guy for the year?????, welcome to your 4th place Chicago Whitesox.
  2. QUOTE (SoxWS05 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:07 PM) No, I want to trade Dye because he's horrible and has been since 2006. That ship has sailed. He has a no trade clause this year.
  3. QUOTE (SoxWS05 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:03 PM) That AB by Swisher was horrible. I think it's time to get him out of leadoff and hit 2nd or 6th. Trade Dye and let Owens lead off. I hate losing winnable games. You want to trade Dye just to fit a bantam weight speedster that cant get on base. Oh Christ.
  4. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:58 PM) I can't believe our offense is this bad. This team stopped hitting after the Boston series of 06. The team didnt hit at all last year, and now this year a lot of the same. The OBP and the Runs scored were great. But eventually the advance scouts tell their team, just pitch to them. Dont walk them, and you will outscore them. This is where we are. I have never seen large amounts of an offense shut down like this.
  5. Its about time for Ozzie to have a closed door meeting. Before this gets out of hand. Since our last Detroit game, we have been a below 500 team.
  6. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:43 PM) Does any site keep track of how many first-pitch outs a team makes? After a walk is the ones that irritate me the most.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:27 PM) wow, the last three games have been unreal from an offensive standpoint This started with the As series. We had a period of good hitting, batting hitting day. Then we had were the starter would shut us down and we would beat up on the mop up guy to make it respectable. Now its just a complete mess where we cant hit at all.
  8. The plane must be on the runway, because we are trying to make this quick work for the Twins.
  9. Maybe Ozzie has Punto's stats mixed up with Morneaus. Because he has our staff attack them like they are each other.
  10. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:15 PM) and on the other side...it's a shorter throw for the catcher If I really want that run....Id much rather the guy steal second and have him bunted to third. Make that throw with the guy running his ass off, and the guy in the right handed batters box is 6'3 and 235. He might be a distraction to you.
  11. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:11 PM) As a former leadoff hitter myself and base stealer, I can verify it *is* easier to steal 3rd...it's just something modern day players don't do well. You have a better view of the catcher, the pitcher has a harder time looking at you and making a quick pickoff move, giving you a larger lead off, and if the catcher sets up inside against a righty, it eases it even more. Plus with the propensity of having a right handed hitter there bothering you, instead of a clear throwing lane it makes a difference as well.
  12. Wasserman is hurt. Well back to the Arsonist MacDougal if he gets hurt for a while.
  13. There is a pucker factor going on here. 2 men get on, including the last man on a walk. Lets put the first pitch into play? They need to relax a bit, take a pitch and get something to hit. Jumping on the first pitch is a recipe for quick outs.
  14. QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:49 PM) I just don't know Why you are b****ing about something that has not even happened. My little quote of the talk between Q and Walk is what we like to call a "parody". Next time I will put it in green for those who are not paying attention.
  15. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) Agreed, but he would need a nice bat to protect him at the 4th spot. I actually think Swisher at the 2 hole is better suited for him, with Quentin behind him then Thome. Quentin 4th Spot Swish is how I have it in my mind. *** In a few years The 2 hole is where you want your best contact hitter. A guy who can take a pitch, not strikeout a lot, and hit to the right side.
  16. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) Quentin would be the optimal 2nd hitter right now. Swisher Quentin Thome Konerko Dye Pierzynski Crede Cabrera Uribe With his ability to take pitches, and make adjustments I would pencil him in for future 3 hole hitter. This is the type of guy that could be a monster in the 3 hole.
  17. QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:29 PM) Not To s*** on your post,,, But.. CQ's Hitting a lot better on the sox than he ever did in 'Zona. Not to s*** on yours, but this guy is a grade A talent that has been hurt. He was supposed hit like crazy when he came up. Take a gander at his minor league numbers. And Walk has stated time and time again, he doesnt touch young hitters because they "got here with their swing". Hence why he didnt work with Anderson for the longest time.
  18. "Carlos, you see how that ball barely went over the fence. See me after the game. Mike Gellinger just told me that the problem is your swing is too level. In the majors, we dip that back shoulder, clear your hips, and elevate the ball." Greg Walker "But Coach, in Arizona, they told us to square the ball up, and drive through the ball with a level swing. " Carlos "How many world series did your hitting coach in Arizona get to architect like I did" Walk "Well, it has worked for me so far" Carlos "The pitchers will adjust to you, mindless power never slumps. Think about it kid if you want a long career with the whitesox." Walk "Coach what is this card you gave me, its says Think Dan Ryan. What does that mean?" Carlos "Its a little memorization technique I use. When you lift and pull, aim for the Dan Ryan. Good news, Mike just told me we have some video for you to watch. Have you ever heard of one of the best hitters in baseball named Rob Deer. His swing is exactly what I want to see yours turn into. You have to unlock your power" Walk
  19. QUOTE (frankie5angels @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:00 PM) How long before Walker gets to this kid and f***s him up?? He better keep the f*** away from him.
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:46 PM) K. I figured out Masset's formula. He throws at the batter's head, gets them disoriented, then drops the hook. Nice. Actually this is a good move. The Twinks look center away, and Massett throws a lot of away pitches. You push them off the plate and regain the outer half.
  21. QUOTE (sf_soxfan @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:41 PM) The "brazilian" Hall has on his chin...cant remember who said that in here, but i still love it... Me
  22. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:35 PM) What the f*** with walking Punto every game. Wait till we hit Toronto and we basically pitch around the future HOFer Matt Stairs the entire series.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 11:22 AM) Crap. groundball basehit between 1B and 2B by Cuddyer. 1 run scores. The whitesox team is probably confused because Walk told all the right handed hitters that right field is out.
